Started out great

I needed a way to assign chores to my three kids and I was trying a bunch of different chores apps. This one seemed to be the best by far! Easy to use, easy to set up and easy for the kids. So I tried it out for a while before deciding to buy it for the year. That was a mistake. Not sure why but once I bought the upgraded version the problems started. Everything looks correct on mine but my son was the first to tell me he had one chore on there twice. At first I didn’t think much of it I said just check them both off. But then the next day my daughter had chores missing on her list. When I looked on my master list they were on there but when I looked on hers she was right some just didn’t show up. I actually spent a good amount of time looking at everything to see if I somehow messed something up. Everything was set up correctly and my app had everything looking the way it was supposed to be but their apps didn’t always have the same as mine. Since purchasing the upgrade everyday there is at least one chore doubled or missing from at least one kids list. Some two kids get the same chore on their list when it’s supposed to rotate between them and it’s set up correctly. I’m kicking myself that I purchased the upgrade. Wish I would have left it alone while it was working perfectly.

It is amazing but there a few features needed…

I love Chorsee . My mother uses it to give me time on my devices, I love it! But, I’d rather you could writes notes, an away feature, &/or shares chores. Writing notes to the head of house would be really nice. Like say you wanted to tell your parent smth bout the chores but don’t feel confident to tell them irl. Sharing chores would be technically just either assigning two or more people to do the chore or splitting the points/money if each of them did it. The away feature would be that if a kid is away(say school or sleepover) you could turn it on so there won’t be notifications & they can’t do the chores. Another part of the feature could be that it’s scheduled times. Those are some features I’d make, otherwise, AMAZING!!
(Devs, plz see this & maybe reply?)

Just started using app and loving it!

LOVE Chorsee! I love the 'take photo evidence' option! Also, make sure the first time you download Chorsee to put everything you can think of right away when it prompts you to try it, and use the photo evidence button liberally because they will block adding more chores and photo evidence right away, thereafter, with prompt to add chores or photo evidence only if you upgrade. Luckily I started filling mine up the first try.

Altogether, I love love LOVE having a cleaner house and chore-motivated kids! Even added a $1 a day chore of being kind to each other and no arguing and .10 for using seatbelt without being asked. Hoping for more kindness from my kids, too! We shall see! 🙏🏻

Change my life forever with my nine-year-old and 12-year-old

This is the best app we’ve ever had figuring out how to make it so easy for us to stay on top of my kids with their responsibilities. This is an app where we get to just teach the kids how to really clean up after themselves and have it be technologically advanced at their finger with their phone or their tablet I am a 100% disabled veteran. this really keeps it 100% honest with what the kids have done especially when some of the apps you can set up to have them provide a picture of proof I love Chorsee

Good App but widgets don’t work

Update to my previous review.

The developer has responded and has been very helpful answering my questions about Chorsee . I am using it to help a child with ADHD and it is working like magic. Thank you so much.

This seems to be a great app, but the widgets don’t seem to work right. It only shows a name and check marks but no info on what the chore was. I also emailed the developer a question about notifications but have not received a response, which is not what I expected based on the other reviews. If any of this gets addressed, I’d be happy to update the rating.

Just what we all needed!

Strikes a golden balance between enough control and enough simplicity. Chorsee was extremely easy to deploy amongst the 6 members of the household. It has made keeping track of chore completion and assignment a breeze. While quite unexpected, the kids actually like having Chorsee to reference even though it came with the addition of more daily chores! I would request the addition of iCloud backup, and the ability to mix reward points and monetary value amongst each child. Example; routine chores could accrue reward points to a goal, and special assignments could be monetized.

Smart and Customizable

Let me just say that I’m one of those very particular people that can be hard to impress but I really like Chorsee. It’s super functional in creating a flexible and personalized chore list to keep track and incentivize family participation. We are just getting started with it but it really has everything I need to customize this to our family’s needs. We have two teens so not sure how it works with younger kids (maybe has less bells and whistles) but it’s so easy to use that it seems like it could work for just about anyone. I’ll review again after a few months of use.

Great app! Wish it had Regenerative Tasks.

Really impressed with Chorsee so far. There are a lot of small touches that are great like being able to check chores off directly from a widget without needing to open Chorsee , and customizable colors for each chore icon to make it easier to visually categorize or differentiate between chores.

Two wishes so far:

1. Regenerative tasks. Some chores need the next due date to adjust based on the date they were last completed. For example, the next date I mow the lawn should be x days from the last time I mowed the lawn, not x days from when I was scheduled to mow the lawn. Chorsee currently doesn’t support this which is a shame because it often tells me things are due when they’re actually not due.

2. It would be nice to be able to complete somebody else’s chore and get the points/allowance for it. Like if it’s John’s job to fold the laundry, but Jane fills in once for him, it would be nice if she could indicate that she completed it instead of John that one time.

GREAT support so I’m in!

I initially decided to use a different app, but even though I took my money elsewhere, Ben responded to my email request and let me know that he used my feedback to make Chorsee better and even sent a screen video of the update, I was floored at this level of care for an app.

So, while there are still things I’d like to see in Chorsee , I think it’s really solid right now and will only get better with this level of care being given to integrating user feedback.

This how the world should be: people making good things and supporting them. I hope Chorsee grows and makes this developer PILES of money and continues to serve lots of people.

Great app!

I am not a family household but even as a single person it’s great. I would love some other features though.
1. Maybe a way to track when cleaning supplies are low? I’m sure for multiple person households this would be a helpful feature as well.
2. Also would like to have a spontaneous chores section. So like today I did chores ahead of time. I just want a way to document that these have been done and maybe once it’s tracked in Chorsee , it would be great if Chorsee rescheduled the chore accordingly without me having to readjust.

Overall I love Chorsee . The above are just some suggestions that I’d like to have all in one instead of getting a separate app.

My house has never stayed this clean for this long!

It’s just my husband and I. We don’t have children. But apparently, we’re a lot like children who have to be told what chores to do when, in order to keep the house clean. We’re competitive and are both vying for the most points. What will we win? We’re still not sure. I’d love a spa day.
Before downloading Chorsee, the house would become an overwhelming mess before I even noticed that it needed to be cleaned. And once it would get that bad, I really didn’t feel like doing it. Now, it never gets messy, because every day we do little chores. It’s kind of fun! Now I know what it’s like to be a neat and orderly clean person, and I’m always ready to have company over.

New To App

Update to my previous comment. The developer is SO RESPONSIVE and extremely helpful! He has taken my suggestions into consideration to put some of the changes in the next update. Such as putting the chores in order by day instead of alphabetical order. Thank you Ben for ALL of your help and guidance!

I may change my review later. I just started using Chorsee. I love how easy it is to use and you can put a passcode in so only the parent can update the information. I love that you can add it as a widget on the Home Screen. I do wish we could do the following: Add our own photos for chores Chores show up in order by day it needs to be completed instead of alphabetical. Schedule when chore must be completed Minus funds if not done on time Move funds if they want to have a savings and spend account. On the main page for the children to show how much they have earned and saved. If there was a checklist that the children need to complete so they know they finished everything expected of that chore. (Example: wipe cabinets, sweep floor, mop floor, windex glass door).

Great app!

I have been using Chorsee for a few months to keep track of my children’s chores and so far I love it! We are doing the old fashioned chores for money approach instead of a points or reward system. I have four children and lots of chores to assign and Chorsee has everything I need. I can assign chores daily, weekly, to everyone, just one person, or on a first come first serve basis. It is very user friendly and I can add or subtract money easily to their accounts.

Recently, I had an issue come up with Chorsee and I contacted the support email. I received a prompt response and the issue was resolved within a few days. I highly recommend Chorsee to anyone looking for a easy way to keep track of their children’s allowance.

This is a good app! Recommend for the parents

Well I’m a kid I’m only 12 and my parents have me and my sibling download Chorsee and it definitely helps me be more productive and me and my siblings have turned it into a competition on who can make the most money in a week lol! My parents love Chorsee and I love helping my parents especially since my dad is at work for most of the day and my mom has bad back pain so it feels good to help my parents out so they can get the rest they highly deserved because of Chorsee!!! (If the creator sees this I just wanna say this is app is extremely good! I love it thank you! It really helped me and my family and helped me because more productive than I usually am! Thank you ❤️have a nice day 😊) to any parents that read this, Chorsee is highly recommended! 💯

Why I love it

I used to absolutely hate doing chores no matter what even if I got paid or not but now when my mom signed me and my brother up for this, I just like love doing chores now and I just like wanna constantly do them even when they don’t even need to be done, and I think if your kids also struggle, I think this would be a good one. Also, what I do love about it is my parent can set Goals. For example, like she can set it $10 for double dessert and then me and my brother have to work up the amount of money for that if we want to spend it on that . Or other goals you would like to set for your kids and yes, parents are in control. This kids cannot really control it and it does show when you have done it or not with an X or check. You do also have to pay monthly though, but I think it’s worth it.

Great app!

this app has supercharged our kids’ motivation for helping around the house! We used OurHome for many years, but Chorsee ’s backend services silently stopped working not long ago. This is a lesson to beware of apps that are completely free, as this is not a sustainable model. Someone needs to pay the cloud computing bill! this app’s lifetime subscription is a worthwhile option, by the way.

To anyone looking for a chore tracking app, I encourage you to look at the date Chorsee was last updated. this app has regular updates, which means the developer is actively working on improving Chorsee . This is a good sign that it will not eventually become abandonware (like Our Home). The developer has also been responsive when I reached out for help. As an enterprise programmer/developer myself, I appreciate what I’ve experienced with Chorsee and highly recommend it.

Life saver for our neuro-spicy family

We learned about this app from a friend of a friend who has a kid with autism. We were talking about how to balance screen time with getting outdoors, getting chores and home work done, and being active and she said it really helped them. We set it up so points can be used as screen minutes or cashed in for allowance. It worked so well the first few days we bought a lifetime subscription. It’s gotten better and better as new versions have come out. The thing we love is that our kid can check the chores off on their iPad as they do them and then we can check together at the end of each day. It’s become a way for us all to check in and keep track of how much screen time we’re using balanced with getting outdoors. It really helps to make seemingly big tasks (like cleaning and organizing their room) accomplishable.

UPDATE: AMAZING customer service!

UPDATE: You can read my previous review below. The developer emailed me personally and worked with us to fix Chorsee . I cannot be happier. They obviously care greatly about their app and their customers. After trying 2 other chore apps whose developers went MIA, I’m more than impressed. I’ll highly recommend this app from now on. Thank you SO much!

I like that we can do points instead of money, and the interface is clean. But we’re less than a week into it, and it’s all types of buggy. It’s freezing constantly, telling the kids they don’t have chores when they do… it’s a mess. I really hope it straightens out soon so I don’t have to find another app. Update… it’s totally unusable today. Totally. My trial ended and I paid for the annual membership, and it’s unusable. It freezes. The lists disappear, and nothing is checking off the way it’s supposed to.

Amazing app!

Chorsee helps me stay on track, and then I don’t have to use up so much paper for lists, and then I also don’t need to carry around a pen to mark off every box, I just tap it! I am a kid and it helps me to do my tasks, but I still suggest it for grown ups too. I do not see much problems with Chorsee, but I could be mistaken. Chorsee lets you do sub tasks for each task, for example: clean your room: make your bed, organize books, wash clothes, etc. Chorsee also lets you look at your progress of how many points you have earned, and if you are a parent you can monitor your kids to give them rewards for how many points they have. You can make your own tasks and edit them, same for the sub tasks. Chorsee has one little thing that I want in it, it needs a productivity chart, a chart not like the one it has, an x and y chart that shows your productivity rate, if it drops or if it gets higher. But otherwise it’s a great way of doing your chores or tasks. I highly suggest that you use Chorsee

Fantastic chore tracking for parents

I am a parent of an older child who lives in a group home so we are not on the same WiFi. this app is the FIRST app I found to allow remote tracking. I love the “photo proof” feature. It allows me to see and reinforce my son’s responsibilities and independence. The balance tracker (we use points) allows me to add or remove additional points for PRIVILEGES and CONSEQUENCES. The note lets me clearly communicate what the points (or minus points) are for. WISHLIST: I wish I could see older history to see dates of poor behavior to trace patterns of behavior and possible triggers.

Features

We love widgets, and we’ve made a bunch of them! You can mark off chores right from your home screen or lock screen, and as a parent, you can keep tabs on the entire family without needing to open the app.

Doing chores and earning points or allowance isn’t always the most fun thing in the world.

Chorsee is a chores and allowance tracker designed for families.

Chores can be assigned to one or more profiles, can be set to rotate between family members, or be up for grabs to whoever gets to them first.

Kid's devices will only have access to their chore list and won’t be able to edit chores or balances.
