RolandPianoApp itself is fine and looks nice, but the cloud login is completely broken and will not let me log into my account at all. I can even be logged into the web browser that pops up when you tap create an account but the main screen stays nonfunctional. It's frustrating how such a basic function can still be broken in 2023.

Edit: I am updated to the latest version of iOS and have tried resetting my password. As I mentioned I can even log into the in-app browser that pops up to create an account. But whenever I try to login to RolandPianoApp itself it says "the information did not match the saved data".

I am sorry, but RolandPianoApp is trash. The lessons are way too hard and if you’re just learning how to play the piano, you don’t know which notes are which it does not help you with that. The beginner lessons are way too hard. I do not recommend RolandPianoApp. It is very hard, you should get another app it’s not worth it it connects to the piano but the rest is just bad

RolandPianoApp has a terrible user interface. It seems to maximize the number of taps required to complete a task. For example, why can’t the bpm and time signature be on the same page? RolandPianoApp seems to have the same features and functions as piano partner 2 but with a worse user interface. Also, why can’t recordings be downloaded.

Can’t even create an account. When you register your account email they require a sign in at the last step. They say there is no account registered and send you back to the registration screen where the email you used is already registered and therefore no longer available to register an account. Is it to stop people from using RolandPianoApp ?

RolandPianoApp itself has some decent features, but I would advise against paying for the subscription. I did it a week ago yet still have no access to the library of songs. I was told to contact support and no one has gotten back to me about it. Total trash.

Edit. I’ve already tried reaching out on the website and I’ve gotten NO response.

I tried RolandPianoApp support link but it just took me to the knowledge base and there nothing there that helps. I had a Roland account which works on their website but it will not let me login with the same information in RolandPianoApp . RolandPianoApp seems nice enough but it will not let me use my Roland account. Update. It finally let me login and I subscribed to their “cloud”. But it will not let me access any of those features. It asks me to subscribe and when I try it says I’m already subscribed. They developer responded at some point and asked to contact them on the website which I already tried doing but their contact form doesn’t work. Update update… the developer asked if I saw a login screen with the link they sent. I did login and to use that form it requires a registered product and there’s nothing in the drop down to choose from and it won’t let me submit the form without that field filled in. I tried to register the product but it doesn’t recognize my model number so I can’t do that either.

so i really want to learn piano and well i can’t get in RolandPianoApp well i can but when it says that i need to connect my FP-10 it does show up i click on it and it never finishes and i did everything that RolandPianoApp told me to do and i just could not get in so if the developers could help me i would love it.

A very strange app. It finds my piano but consistently says my iPhone does not have an internet connection to add it. I tried both WiFi and mobile internet, removed piano from list of Bluetooth devices and so on, nothing worked.

The previous version lets you play the flash card game without a piano. Now it requires to connect to a piano. Way to go Roland. You set the bar lower and managed to get under it.

Title says it all… As a Roland Cloud Ultimate subscriber, this is a real let-down. I love my FP-30, but not being able to use it with RolandPianoApp is a bummer.. Hopefully they add support soon, as it will open them up to potentially several more subscribers.

My son was heartbroken to see all his recordings disappear from the “My recordings” in the Library - we can’t find them anywhere.
Is there a way to turn on iCloud backups of My Recordings so this doesn’t happen again?

Metronome function is making me crazy. Starts out fine, then within a couple of minutes it takes off on its own. Done trying to delete and reload app. I will have to do it through the piano itself.

iPhone 13 pro with a FP-90. Connects but has a midi error preventing it from working. I have done all of the recommended steps and it still doesn’t work.

The interface is so big!! The fonts are huge! For no good reason. This results in so much vertical scrolling.Especially on the accompaniment page.

There is no support for hardwire connection to the piano. Only Bluetooth support . Bluetooth is laggy and not as responsive for auto accompaniment.

Please add more styles in accompaniment!!

I can connect the piano from my iPad, but I always get “we found no pianos” from iPhone. I have already disconnected on iPad, close all apps, turn off and turn on Bluetooth, doesn’t work.

I think I found the root cause for the issue I met. RolandPianoApp cannot really disconnect from piano, after you disconnect in RolandPianoApp , the MIDI device is still connected in the Bluetooth list. And piano will connect to the existing device automatically after reboot which make it hard to connect to new device.

I found another issue, I just updated my piano 1 hour ago , but RolandPianoApp prompts message said my piano is not running on latest system version😓, there is no new version on Roland’s website.

Getting network issue. Under Bluetooth connections I’m able to see it is connected to GoPiano MIDI and GoPiano Audio. Able to see the paired and connected on the piano as well. However while trying to connect from app I’m getting network authentication issue. I’m using iPhone 11.

Its good for all the settings and technical stuff, but the lesrning section ain’t that good. It doesn’t teach you how to read, its like a math test, but with equations your teachers never taught you, the library is the sheet music flying and the music playing from RolandPianoApp , and just is horrible in general. Thank you for reading this and can take this to help make RolandPianoApp better for the community.

In trying to migrate from Piano Everyday (FP 30X) the purchased songs were displayed on the iPhone but not on the iPad. The iPad display button of “Purchased” is not there. In general, moving from iPad to iPhone is buggy with stalls and freezes. More info on app migration would be helpful.

I think I accidentally deleted my old review but the developers responded to my concern about there being no support for the FP range of pianos on the new Roland Piano app.
My review basically stated that people spent good money on these pianos. I spent $600 on my FP-30 to not receive support three years later, I can’t imagine how FP-90 owners feel having spent near $2000 to own hardware that is no longer supported a couple years later.
I also said that I think RolandPianoApp looks great and feels great, much better than the Piano Partner 2 app.
I am grateful that Roland responded to my review. They said: "Hello. First, thank you for the kind words about RolandPianoApp . We hear your feedback about adding support for the FP series and we are working expand the compatibility of RolandPianoApp with more models in the months to come. Thanks!"
When they follow through with adding support for the FP range, I will feel a lot better about Roland, but for now I still have a bad taste in my mouth. I appreciate Roland responding to the community and promising to follow through, but am still disappointed because adding support for the FP range of pianos is something they should’ve done in the first place.

App crashes when I tap “Login”

Instead of improving the Roland Piano Partner 2 app, RolandPianoApp was released. However, it supports a very limited selection of pianos. There are few differences between the FP-30X and the FP-30, but the FP-30 is still unsupported. I will update my review if support is added.

Update 08/23: thanks for adding additional time signatures (although some like 8/8 and 12/8 are not necessary) but why did the subdivision controls disappeared? (Beat subdivision to triplet, 16ths etc.) They were very useful! Can you put them back? A great metronome app to check is for ideas is pro metronome…

Original review: When I use the metronome, if I set a tempo and my phone’s screen turns off or if I get out of RolandPianoApp , it goes back all of the sudden to the default tempo… I hope there is a fix for this. Also the 7/4 is missing from the options.

The old apps were so clunky and inconvenient, especially when switching between tones. Im was so glad to see this new app come out, and look forward to future improvements.

The thing I want most is easier capability to switch between tones, and other features, with as little steps and lagginess as possible. Thank you guys.

An option to export recordings to midi, mp3, etc. would be lovely. EDIT: I now use RolandPianoApp to help connect my piano to my phone with bluetooth, then I use RolandPianoApp “MIDI Recorder with E Piano” to record from bluetooth and export as a MIDI. Hope this helps someone who’s just looking to record and export midi.

RolandPianoApp is great but there are some problems about it and I hope you solve them in the future. In tones part on piano settings when I use a special sound the recorder records the normal piano sound and it gets boring sometimes. The second problem is with the recorder. I was hopeful to save and share my recorded file as a composer but there is no option for that. I’m looking forward to your feedback and bug fixes. Thank you

RolandPianoApp desperately needs to show the number of the corresponding tone/voice selection when scrolling the list of hundreds of choices and a search feature is a must. Scrolling back and forth in an non alphabetized list is insane when at least a search feature only takes a few minutes to implement.

A more streamlined interface versus previous piano everyday app. Still requires connection to the internet even if you just want to adjust the tones, accompaniment or metronome. There is a bug and the chords are all recognized as some version of B flat. Chord recognition worked in piano everyday.

Good app. I’d like Split View so I can look at the accompaniment with sheet music. Wish changing sounds wasn’t so many menu layers deep. I’d like to make presets for things like Split Tones.

I love my piano (HP601) but I would really love a way to record the audio from my piano and save it to my IPhone files through RolandPianoApp . I wish that this was possible through RolandPianoApp . I’m sure there’s a way to do it, and this would make RolandPianoApp and incredible companion to the piano.

It works but I don’t know why the user interface is so slow, a 100MB plus app, lot of wasted space, many different clicks to navigate, lots of scrolling, mostly empty pages.

RolandPianoApp is great for setting up the piano. Two things would make it perfect in my opinion:
1. Add the ability to save settings in a pre-set to call up for regular use. As it is, I need to re-do the settings every time I turn the piano on again.
2. Allow RolandPianoApp to update the piano firmware.

I like the new recording feature, but how we access those files beyond just playing them inside RolandPianoApp ? I’d like to use my audio recordings outside RolandPianoApp , but don’t see any options.

Before using RolandPianoApp, we recorded to a usb stick. We find recording through RolandPianoApp to be even more convenient and fun.

We also just found that RolandPianoApp will show us automatically transcribed sheet music for anything we saved as an internal recording on the piano. Super cool! Hope they add that feature to recordings made through RolandPianoApp .😃

Using with an FP-90x, love the remote control for picking tones. Metronome is great; remember kids, always use a metronome! It’s cool you can download charts. Connecting is easy one you figure out to do it through RolandPianoApp , not the BT menu on your iPhone.

What a great tool and resource for practicing. I spend more time playing and engaged in my piano.
