- The app is easy to use and allows for easy access to the bikes.
- The addition of more stations in a short amount of time is a positive improvement.
- The new bicycles are great.

I was looking forward to using this app. My friends and I visiting the city tried to download ECOBICI and it would not allow any of us to purchase a pass. I visited a support kiosk and they said ECOBICI wasn’t processing foreign cards and didn’t know when it would work again.

I went to Mexico City with my parents and we decided to use the bikes. However our accounts immediately got suspended only because we exceeded the time limit. That is total nonsense.

When we put our bikes back in the correct docking station after our ride (and it locked), the timer wouldn’t stop and we continued to be charged for another 4 hours… there is no customer service to help either. I would not recommend using this unless you’re okay paying much more.

I was in Mexico City, rented a day pass and couldn’t get a bike because I could only purchase a red bike and every bike near by was green! I wasted around an hour and a half of my day trying to figure out why I couldn’t get a bike! Wish it would had told me it was only for red bike before I paid. I Try calling the number to get my money back and nothing! Worst bike rental experience!!!

They should rename it to customer enemy. I purchased an annual membership and the bike failed to dock for some reason and they overcharged me 150$ extra after the first ride itself. It is such a shame that a company working in this industry has such a bad customer support experience.
They give a bad name to the whole transit industry.
I am sure no one in this company cares to listen to their customers

I used this app last year without any trouble when visiting cdmx, this year it days error check your card.. wasn’t able to enjoy Sunday bike ride and wasted a few hours trying to figure it out.

This is a really poorly organized bike share. You HAVE to use ECOBICI but they canning accept foreign credit cards and will only give info in Spanish so I had no idea what was going on. Had to call where they told me I had to go to a random shopping mall (LOL) to pay and ride.

Go through the whole sign up, get to payment, finally get a generic “an error occurred” with no explanation. Tried multiple cards multiple times with no effect. Why can’t app developers consider anything besides the “happy path”? This try-catch-open dialog pattern is horrible.

I was in a pinch with traffic so downloaded ECOBICI to hop on a bike and move a little faster. However, the bikes didn’t work and everyone trying to unlock bikes at the station were not able to. Since I didn’t use any bikes I asked for my money back and was refused.

Can’t even get past the payment screen. Every payment method rejected every time.
For shame.

This apps doesn’t work at all. There is any empty map and every attempt to rent a bike fails.

I took a black bike not realizing most of the stations were for red bikes. Wasted 1/2 a day. There was no phone support at all. Terrible experience. Bd I still cannot get ECOBICI to work

Como todo lo que toca Sheinbaum. Los de servicio al cliente son unos malditos INÚTILES.

Unreliable. Logins fail, credit card rejected, lots of glitches. Not good for tourists

Bought a day pass. Used it once. Second time I got an error in ECOBICI (and so did the person I was with who had an android) it wouldn’t let us get bikes even though we payed for 24 hours. Sent the screenshot to customer service. Customer service gives the run around and won’t refund. Scam!

Apparently they are in the middle of switching to a new system and ECOBICI only works with Black bikes (not red) you use to get a code that you enter into kiosk to get your bike, but support NO LONGER issues those. Why does a company think it’s acceptable to allow users to use only 10% of the system is beyond me.
by Superdewey
It sometimes takes up to 5 mins to unlock a bike if you’re using the QR code feature. When clicking the scan to unlock button it just sits there forever trying to load the scanner.

You only get access to a small selection of bikes with ECOBICI, the majority of the city is on an obsolete system that is incompatible.
I made the mistake of buying a full year pass, but even then I still use ECOBICI alright getting across Condesa or up and down some of Av. Insurgentes.
ECOBICI & new bikes work great; it’s just a failure to not consider backwards compatibility. Suggest viewing the map or buying the shortest term membership to see if the selection works for you.

It works like 95 percent of the time. When it doesn’t, it’s a huge pain. Hard to rely on this as an alternative transportation system to cars/transit when it can cost you time/money if you’re trying to get somewhere on time and docks won’t unlock bikes or tell you you’re over the limit of uses (??) when you have an annual membership.

Buy a year. It’s brilliant and will take you everywhere.

First time user visiting from Seattle and wish most US cities had bike infrastructure like this—both physical and a simple great app like this.

ECOBICI is user-friendly, and works better than any bike app I’ve used in the United States or South America.

Really enjoyed using ECOBICI while in CDMX! It was a great way to get around and see the city thanks to the addition of so many amazing bike lanes. ECOBICI could use some additional improvements with in-app navigation on bike lanes. It was most effective to use Google Maps or Apple Maps instead of ECOBICI to navigate thanks to their play by play directions. Would definitely recommend ECOBICI and trying the service.

ECOBICI is reliable, easy to use, hardly has any bugs. this app is my go-to way to travel around the city.

This version of the bikes is different than the last, but it’s far easier to access. You can use ECOBICI or link your metro card. It’s been out like a month and they’ve added a ton of stations in that time.
The reviews that say there are no stations were written right when they launched the transition, I’d guess they’ve already doubled the stations since then.

Easy and convenient! Totally with it if you’re n México City any period of time and you want to get around on your own.

Getting around the city is a breeze with ECOBICI. Five stars!

Used this bike share service when traveling to CDMX for vacation. Got it up and running within minutes on both of my phones, am iPhone and an Android, no issues on either.

I wanted to rent a bike while in CDMX and couldn’t figure out an easy way to do so. Luckily I passed by one of the this app docks. I used the QR code on the bike to download ECOBICI , filled out my details (worked well even with an American phone number) and was off.
Returning the bike is a little confusing. Once you get to the dock you have to shove the bike in so the metal triangle on the front of the bike clicks into place. It took me a few tries - there’s no instructions in ECOBICI so if you don’t get it at first just try a couple times. Other than that it was a great way to get around town.
