I have no idea how these ppl are still in business. The positive reviews must be faked.
Got their system some time ago (4 cams and recorder). Didn’t have time to install it so they were sitting in the box for few months. Eventually I found time to install it. It worked ok for the first month and a half when first camera died, I contacted them and they used all they could to dodge me and and the end made my buy replacement. Only a couple weeks later two more cameras stopped working. They ran me through a complicated and very inconvenient process to „troubleshoot” later I learned that it was just their standard way of dodging the actual support. They were running me around just to make things impossible. Many other options out there - stay away from that brand, this is a scam.

Originally the box included one dead camera, after weeks of contacting tech service they sent me a new one. The system
Is blinking and two more cameras not working.
They were keeping me busy for months with excuses and after that told me the warranty is Over.
The company is a scam. Super low quality . I’ll open a complain in FCC and Florida customers protection. Forget about this brand….. Costco please verify the company quality

The videos always freeze or fail to load during replay. Every time you replay and review camera footage DefenderEmpower crashes and also freezes any functioning of your phone. You cannot turn it on. Off. Reboot. Restart. And it happens. Every. Single. Time. I could have better service and replay from a much cheaper system. I should have listened to everyone else and went with another company.

DefenderEmpower is so incredibly slow and nearly impossible to go back and record things. You can only go back and download 10 minute segments and it’s hard to line the numbers up so I’m not recording the same timestamps multiple times. Please add something so we can record 30 mins at a time and are able to type in what specific times we need. It constantly crashes and kicks me off DefenderEmpower , also the fact you can’t get DefenderEmpower on a pc is extremely frustrating. My phone and iPad are incapacitated for hours trying to record incidents daily.

Live picture quality is not even close to 4k in DefenderEmpower , I wouldn’t even say it’s 720. The pic in DefenderEmpower is very grainy with tons of shadowing. I set my sub stream to the highest quality and the images are still horrible .They app live stream leaves a lot to be desired. I upgraded from a 600TVL system that was 10 years old and it’s live stream wasn’t much worse than this. I have 2k wireless cameras that have incredible quality on their apps, defender really needs to update DefenderEmpower to fix the picture quality!

Reinstalled app still doesn’t work. One of my cameras went out so I tried to fix the issue. I had to unplug the nvr to try and fix the issue. After that my app would not show any of the cameras like they did before. I uninstalled and reinstalled DefenderEmpower several times and still won’t connect to the device. It was working perfectly and now I m going back and forth with tech support and they give me the same answers and the issue is not resolved.

These cameras are poorly made and easy to break. DefenderEmpower is outdated and lacks the innovation. Firmware updates are non-existent and the customer service takes weeks to respond to request. I bought 8 cameras and 3 of them broke during installation, the swivel that adjust the angle of the camera just snapped with little to no pressure. I live in florida so any storm that comes through will most likely break the remaining 6. Upon contacting customer service, they asked me to send them back, and they sent me 3 “new” cameras that were also broken….. I wish I was joking about that. Upon research I found these cameras are Chinese made and repurposed as Canadian. Installation took an entire day to complete, so just taking these down would be wasted effort and I’ll just keep them up until the next hurricane. I gave this review a two star due to the camera image quality being satisfactory, other then that do not waste your money there are better quality cameras out there with more innovative apps tied to them. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

I bought a set of Defender cameras due to a neighbor having great success with them. I purchase the Defender Sentinel NVR 4 camera set up and had to download Defender Empower to get the videos on my phones remotely. DefenderEmpower is definitely difficult to navigate and every time I go back to view past footage, it always starts a midnight, which is annoying, and I can’t seem to figure out when I detects motion. I’ll get an app motivation, but when I go to playback it’s a highlighted blue. There should be an indication on when the cameras detection motion. It’s also very difficult to to find “Albums” when I save the footage. Maybe I’m new to DefenderEmpower, but there also isn’t very much information on navigating DefenderEmpower either. 2 out of 5 stars for now. Not happy.

DefenderEmpower functionality is way below the expectations, it is very cumbersome to do any decent playback of the recordings. I am unable to connect to my device from a PC for playback and monitoring, it is hard to connect to the device for settings and setup.
The device does not scan for internet networks continuously, if I loose power, the device restarts faster than the internet modem/router, so it will not reconnect until I have to do it manually.

I think DefenderEmpower needs a better update where you can monitor the cameras from the main page, fix the details and update it, DefenderEmpower would be much better.

System works great but difficult to find replacement cameras. Started with 8 cameras 3years ago. Down to 5.
I Wish the settings would allow for a start and END time for detecting human bodies.

While the images are sharp, they are not as wide angled as I am used to in home security systems.

I would give this a 5 if it had wider angles, and if the set up and feature instructions were more complete and clearer. Customer service was very helpful, but you do have to wait a few days so be patient.

When following the instruction and installing these camera in the right location, battery usually remain at 100%. Cameras has beautiful color video at day and night time. Camera also have two way capability.

I had purchased the Defender 4k Sentinel to be used at our business location.
The picture quality is absolutely incredible.
We have fiber internet through AT&T, and we have never had a problem with connection issues.
Set up was easy, and the best part of it all… no monthly subscription fee for the mobile app!
Customer support has also been great in responding to any inquiries I may have.
I would highly recommend Defenders 4k camera systems.

My mom is getting older and I have been using DefenderEmpower to check on her while she’s doing garden work. And it alerts me when there is moving at certain cameras. I wish I had the AI camera.

My husband and I were so delighted when we got in touch with Bryan on the “Customer Support Team” He was extremely patient with my husband, who is not too tech savvy. He followed up with step by step instructions for what he needed us to do. We couldn’t be more pleased!! Defender is fortunate to have you! It’s hard to find employees like him. Thank you Bryan! The defender empower app has been a very useful addition for me to be able to keep an eye on my house. DefenderEmpower has been pretty easy to learn and use. I would recommend the empower app and the defender camera systems.

The quality is great, I wish the particular ones that I have had audio but Overall, it’s a great camera system

Love the system. Been using for over 10+ years and simply the best. Great quality. Reliable. Love it. Would recommend it.

Great app that is reliable and very functional for checking cameras, would love to see cloud storage though.
