SNY: Stream Live NY Sports Reviews

SNY says you must use location, and when I’m in Florida the cable company doesn’t offer this app. I log in with my cable company info from NJ, but the location must be overriding the log in. If trying to watch live stream, I get a white box stating “an error has occured”. That’s on an iPhone. I get a “not available” blue screen on the Roku TV. VERY frustrating. After years of blackout issues with NBCSports and MLB, I was excited for this app app, especially when I was able to get live broadcasts the first day. Since then, cannot get live broadcasts. Gary has said, for years, never miss a game. Well, it didn’t work on NBCSports and now it doesn’t work on the new app.
***** Read the fine print: upon launch of app, we were given a 48-hour window to view this app live. After that, you need to use it in your “home” location, then will be granted a 30-day window to watch out-of-market. That isn’t “watch anytime, anywhere” in my language. False advertising

Have to refresh the stream after almost every commercial because it freezes on commercials. Can’t play the stream on the iphone Lock Screen, can’t play the stream audio on my CarPlay when connected, there’s no app for my TV or PlayStation, to watch on Tv I mirror my lPad but when I do that the screen on the TV is quite small and low quality. The iPad app is just the iPhone app. Why release this if you weren’t completely finished?? Take notes from the MLB app please!!

I was so excited when I heard this app was going to have an app, 3 days before it came out, I had a timer ready to download when the time came. Well the time came, I was using SNY out of state from my network-Optimum, since I still live in NY. Well 3 days into downloading SNY, I was no longer allowed to watch anything this app related that included the Mets game. Don’t waste your time with SNY, especially if your out of state… for the moment. It won’t work. What a complete let down, just bc of that when I get back home I won’t be using it anymore.

They already make money from 1) your cable subscribtion 2) the ads they play between innings and 3) your location ( anyone stupid enough to turn location on, as well as stupid enough to create an account). But in addition they need to play 2 thirty second ads every time you sign on. Screw that.

I’m not a Mets fan but play fantasy baseball and like their broadcast team and wouldn’t mind watching them once in a while. Now, b/c of their greed and b/c I switch apps often, I’ll only watch through my MLB subscription and my VPN

The fact that you can only watch when you’re in the home location is ridiculous but maybe not this app’s fault. Having said that, the fact that there is no airplay options or an iPad app is insane. So the only option for me to watch this app is in on the smallest screen I own? This is bad. Please add airplay and make SNY actually usable, would happily re rate then.

I have always had Direct TV just to get this app since 2011 because I live in Ohio. this app has always blacked out Mets content for out of town viewers. Classic games, Mets specials, replays, etc. They are the only sports team specific network that blacks out all programming related to their team. I love the Mets but this app makes it hard to watch from a far. Now SNY is continuing this problem. I can’t watch most of the programming even though I am an this app subscriber since I live in Ohio. Please change this finally. Will make SNY and direct tv subscription experience better

The idea of SNY sounds great, because this app/ MSG have been removed from a lot of TV services. Plus boat loads of people are moving out of NY area. When I entered my TV provider in order to watch the Mets game. It just freezes and says “ enter your tv provider in your account tab”. I go check the account tab, my tv provider is entered and I still can’t watch the game in SNY . Hopefully they get that fixed, because I moved to Texas last year and this would be very convenient, instead of hoping they’re on MLB network.

Where’s the iPad app? I am happy this is finally here, but I need iPad support. This feels like a work in progress. I don’t wanna really bash this as it is new and I’m sure that there is room to grow but what would be better is if there’s some on-demand content like watching shows after they aired, watching complete games after they’re played, etc. I would adjust my rating as SNY grows, but right now it’s early days.

I think SNY is great but I’m having an issue where the sound keeps cutting in and out for about half a second every few seconds. It’s very annoying but I’m hoping that will be fixed later on. Also when watching live tv, the screen is very sensitive to switching from vertical to horizontal. Which also a very annoying bug.

The button to sing into my account is unresponsive. When I click on my cable provider to sign it I just get a blank screen and can’t sign in. I’ve deleted and reinstalled many times and it doesn’t make a difference.

To those complaining about being out of network, that is the regulations, you can’t watch local networks when you don’t live in that region. That is what MLB TV is for, you can get a one team subscription to save money.

SNY is so convenient for Mets fans like myself but SNY has way to many bugs you can’t even make the game full screen and you have to tap more than 5 times to select something other than that I see SNY as a life safe when on the go and it was well over due

Seems to work fine. No issues with loading live tv and the subtitles is a nice touch as well. Only wish is to be able to cast to a tv. But since SNY is new I’m sure that’s something that’ll come with time. Will change to 5 stars once that’s accessible

I am writing this mainly about SNY for Roku which is terrible. For starters it makes me authenticate my cable company every day, which is ridiculous. Sometimes, when you try to watch a live game which may already have started, you have no option but to watch it from the beginning.

Great user experience. The video quality is phenomenal whether using LTE or WiFi. Love the video player’s ability to pop out without interrupting the stream while I text or check a different app.

I’m sure this will be fixed eventually since SNY is brand new. Same issue occurred with the MSG GO app originally. There’s no option to chromecast what your streaming. Once that option is available, SNY will be great!

There’s that understanding with a brand new app that there will be things that need to be fixed.
One I would like is for the Apple TV version to actually work, it just loads endlessly. There can be some minor tweaks that can be improved with the iOS version as well.

Video quality is good once it connects but it crashes/freezes way too often. The commercial breaks especially cause this crash because it looks like it is trying to load ads instead of showing the commercials from the broadcast.

Definitely needs iPad support. How it is now is OK on the iPad, but it definitely needs work.

Love that I can watch streams without the blackout bug on NBC Sports app! Only thing I am waiting for is ability to rewind live streams so I can rewatch plays if I was looking away and ability to cast to TV. No connection issues whatsoever with a new app is very refreshing.

iPad: Have to physically move/rotate it to get full screen, locks up between almost every inning (have to close/reopen), at least constant sound dropouts were fixed; feels like it was rolled out before bugs were worked out.

Tried sooooooo many times to input my tv provider SNY just won’t let me tried to sign up app won’t let me literally download it just to delete it. Been trying since 10am to put my tv provider in after it took an hour just to put my info down waste of space whoever made SNY needs to be fired and never let develop anythin else

I know app is new but it’s giving me a hard time trying to create an account. Hoping it’s fixed in future

SNY on my phone is just fine but it seems there is no iPad version and the video stream on iPad is coming in small as its an iPhone app. There better be a version that accommodates the larger screen size coming (before opening day)

I don’t see it for the iPad. Any time frame when that will happen?

Pumped for SNY as the nbc sports app was so bad and was 3-5 pitches behind routinely. SNY is slick and even has Picture in Picture very nice!

Hey guys I just downloaded SNY . After I signed in with TV log I when I try to stream it says an error has accurred please try again is there a way to fix it? Thank you

I heard Gare and Ronnie mention this new this app app on the broadcast tonight, and I must say fellas, I was not disappointed. Great app for all your Mets stuff. Download this immediately.

I live in Florida and was all excited to see SNY arrive. The broadcast of the live this app feed doesn’t seem to work. The video clips load but I can’t connect to get the live broadcast, i get an error message and please try again. Not worth the hyoe 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Looking forward to exploring SNY and watching Mets games on my phone and iPad.

SNY has all the things i need. it is very accessible and easy to use. you can view all the streams you need. you can get all the inside scoop, highlights, and more just from your phone.

I have xfinity for cable and it doesn’t list them as an option to log in with, and SNY is not functional without it.

I can’t sign in with my tv provider. After I click sign-in and choose my provider an all white window pops up. Nothing to click. Cannot move forward.

App seems fine, need to be able to cast to TV like YES app
