Jigsaw Puzzle Reviews

I’ve played the original of JigsawPuzzle and enjoyed it a lot. It is nice that it has come to Apple Arcade; however, this version crashes all the time. I’ve never had the original crash. My progress is saves so I’m not having to redo any part of the puzzles. However, since the developer already has a stable version of JigsawPuzzle , it would make since that they could fix this one. Get this fixed and JigsawPuzzle is 5 stars.

Update: I’ve updated to the latest version and the game still crashes. MobilityWare requested I send a support ticket and I haven’t heard anything. However, I will send another one just to make sure. This can really be a 5 store app, but the crashing needs to be fixed.

I loved this game and happily played it every day - until this latest update. Not only did I have to go in to change all the settings to get them somewhat back to what I liked (and they’re still not perfect), but the game doesn’t even play as well. Sometimes there are tiny freezes, and moving the board around (I hate using the trays, so I don’t) is much harder. Also, I know this is petty, but I turned off the timer for a reason. I hate feeling like I need to rush. So at least give me the option to turn off the time that shows after you finish a puzzle. I don’t want to know how long it took me, that’s why I turned the in game timer off. It makes the game less relaxing and more stressful.

In a real jigsaw puzzle, or in the most serious games in the Apple Store, a puzzle isn’t just a matter of where does a piece looks like it fits: It’s about whether the same of two pieces physically connects correctly. This is extra special in areas with minimal color and shape gradients: There might be 80 candidates that have a similar color, but the edges of the wrong pieces don’t even look like they connect if you look close, as the shape is wrong. A good puzzle solver can then, just by eye, know how pieces pair up without actually looking at the picture.

In this game, this isn’t true. There are basically 4 piece shapes, and the edges are indistinguishable at playable zoom levels. Therefore there is a lot more trial and error in, say, a 500+ puzzle with a blue sky covering 25% of it, when in other apps, or a quality physical puzzle, this wouldn’t happen. So really, this game is jus not at its best past, say, 100 pieces, and you have to go all by the picture.

Overall, this is a good game. I enjoy doing the puzzles and the interface is fairly smooth. However, the game absolutely annihilates the battery on my iPad. Even when the game is not running actively in the foreground, it seems to consume battery. The battery report in iOS attributes a large percentage of my usage to JigsawPuzzle. Additionally, it does not give me credit for puzzles that I complete most of the time. When I go back to choose a new puzzle, the one I just finished does not show as completed. Sometimes it forgets that I have completed a puzzle. When I reopen JigsawPuzzle , it shows the puzzle as in progress and partially completed even though I have finished it already. So it needs some work, but they don’t seem to be actively working on it as it doesn’t update very often.

I like JigsawPuzzle . It’s fun and I can set my own pace. I’m removing one star because of the constant edge setting and preview setting pop up’s. This is not only annoying but it also makes you stop play to tap them so you can place pieces. What’s most annoying is the timer to complete the puzzle starts immediately and you have to waste time tapping those two suggestions while the clock is counting. I would really like to see my actual time to complete a puzzle without this annoying delay. Fix that and it’s is a 5 star game.

I absolutely love JigsawPuzzle. I’m on it every single day. I love that there’s an endless supply of puzzles and you can almost find what you’re looking for when searching all the time. It’s great stress reliever. However, I cannot stand how the pieces are at the bottom of the screen. I’m constantly closing JigsawPuzzle when getting a pierce or pulling out pieces when I’m trying to close JigsawPuzzle . It became a bit frustrating. Even if it were moved like half an inch above bottom of the screen, it would work! Until then, 4 stars.

This is one of my favorite apps. I have 2 suggestions. Tag the puzzles better. When I search “home” or “house” for example, it pulls up very limited results when I know there are thousands of puzzles that fit this criteria. The search function would work much better if you guys would tag them on the back end. Also, the discovery section on the home page has had the same puzzles since I’ve downloaded JigsawPuzzle . It would be cool if it randomly selected new puzzles everyday to show so I could actually discover new puzzles. There are literally thousands of puzzles which is what I love about JigsawPuzzle! Help me discover them!

This puzzle app does the job. Love the wide range of puzzle options, ability to use your own picture, and I can get into the puzzling pretty well. It would be nice if there were more varied cuts to the puzzle pieces, but overall not a big deal.

The one thing really keeping JigsawPuzzle from 5 stars is the tutorial prompts. Now obviously when you start using JigsawPuzzle , it’s good to learn where things are. But I’m now 100 puzzles in and it is still reminding me you can filter to edge pieces at the start of EVERY SINGLE PUZZLE. The message blocks seeing puzzle pieces until I dismiss it. Funny thing is, whether or not I want to filter to edges, I’m tired of being told! It’s bad for both people who don’t want the feature and people who do want it at this point! Same thing with the message about locking the board zoom. Here’s a hint on locking the view: I never ever ever want to do it, because it is actively bad at puzzle sizes greater than about 150 pieces on a phone screen. Try it, and see if you can do the puzzle. Telling me about it is annoying noise. I’ve looked for something to turn these off in the settings multiple times and found nothing.

Find some way to suppress or let me disable these annoyances and I’ll easily bump my rating up to 5 stars.

I really love this game as a nice cozy relaxing way to spend time. The puzzle choices are great and there is a wide variety of puzzles to choose from.

This update is frustrating because I do the 1024 piece puzzles and they reduced the size of the “table” and there’s barely any room to even sort the pieces. The size it was before this update was perfect and now it is less enjoyable because there just isn’t any extra space to sort and spread out the pieces, even a little.

Please restore the larger size of the table. As is, this is 4 stars. Restore the table and it is a 5 star perfect cozy game.

Try this puzzle app and you'll never want to get rid of Apple Arcade. Puts many puzzle apps to shame.

Don't get me wrong. I love Patterns but JigsawPuzzle is easier for me to play. I have gotten several of the Mobility Ware before I had Apple Arcade. Much better in Apple Arcade.

So far, all the puzzles have been free. Run to as little as 10 puzzles to 40 per group. Most of the Disney are the normal wonderful pictures. They have at least two Winnie the Pooh groups, Lilo and Stitch. 101 Dalmations to newer movies. Encanto. They have got groups of pictures. Disney Villans, Disney Princesses.

I've given info about the Disney puzzles since so many people love them, but they have a set of Norman Rockwell pictures. Drawings that country ketch, cats, dogs, farm animals, wild animals, patterns, etc.

The lowest number of choice is 9. The highest I've gone is 144. Table backgrounds are limited. Only about 10. You also have the choice of difficulty level relating to how you want your prices set. The inner pieces you can place and they won't move. Nice to play with prview in background.

I have enjoyed JigsawPuzzle a lot.

Great app in general. We love the puzzle choices, the options of piece size, and rotation on and off. We even love the ability to use your photos to create new puzzles! How fun.

The only thing we need is new objectives! Once you finish the handful that are supplied when you download JigsawPuzzle , that’s it! We finished our 80 days yesterday and we were hoping that new objectives would pop up. No such luck. :(

Add weekly objectives and I’ll increase to 5 stars!

I love Jigsaw Puzzle by Mobility Ware+!!!! It is so fun! ( I must confess that I have stayed up way too late too many nights playing this 😅😅😅) but I still love it!!! When I first started playing I made a puzzle with the most peace’s possible it took me, like, in total 12hrs…. But it was so satisfying to finish it!!! The only thing I don’t like about it is while you put in the last piece it sparkles ✨ I don’t care for that but I still love it! Thank you for reading this crazy review😅

I don’t know what changed but the problem has fixed itself. I hope it stays this way because it’s a great jigsaw program. I would certainly recommend it to everybody. One of the advantages is that you don’t have to spend lots of money for each group of puzzles. Nor do you need to do every puzzle even if it’s not one of your favorites.

The puzzles are nice when the program doesn’t freeze! It’s very irritating especially since it’s part of your arcade . Please fix this and I will give it a 5 star rating.

I played another app for years. Even tho I spent a LOT of money with that app, I still got pop-up ads for other puzzle packs while playing. I complained, and apparently spending money only kept me from getting pop-up ads from other, third-party games, not the developer’s ads. JigsawPuzzle does not advertise in-game. Thank you! It’s part of the Apple Arcade charm. That and less tracking.

Is there anyway to stop the animation and focus on the last piece? It feels like the “win” is taken from me..

I like the amount of puzzles available with Apple Arcade. This is one of the arcade games I play the most. I like that I can choose the number of pieces and choose if I want to rotate pieces or not. There is only one thing that bothers me: When I am on the last piece I don't like that the screen zooms out and the piece starts glowing. This is very distracting because I had the screen zoomed exactly the way I wanted it. Please add an option to disable this feature. Thank you.

This would be great if they would just leave you alone when the puzzle is finished. Instead, they collaps the puzzle just before the last piece is put in then you have about a second to look at it before they turn it into a photograph, which you could just see without having done the puzzle. You have no time to enjoy your work and they kind of hassle you to start on another puzzle, and give you competitive goals I would like to just relax at the end of the puzzle and enjoy my work.

Great relaxing game that allows you to play as you want :) Don't feel like sorting? It can auto sort for you. Enjoy the sorting aspect? You can organize on the table or have multiple trays. I also enjoy that I can make my own puzzles pics!
What would make JigsawPuzzle the absolute best? Allowing me do a jigsaw puzzle with friends and family. I really enjoy doing puzzles with others and would love it if I can do it on the iPad online. Not in a taking turns kind of way, but able to see others selecting and moving pieces while I'm doing the same thing. Please add a multiplayer mode!

This, Goat Simulator, Samurai Jack, and Don’t Starve I think represent excellent examples of how Apple Arcade has matured into something truly valuable. There have been puzzle games before on iPad, but they’ve been bogged down by a cost that is hard to justify before you know how the UI/UX is for the game and with far fewer puzzles. One would only hope a paid game would have a custom puzzle option. As a UI/UX designer, this is an exceptional implementation of doing this game right. Importantly, these games represent a gap filled by Apple Arcade as quality games that truly benefit from being part of a subscription model rather than in-app purchases and/or one time purchase.

I really enjoy JigsawPuzzle. Puzzles can be simple or difficult depending on your choice of puzzle or number of pieces. Can be enjoyed by children or adults for that reason. Very calming and addictive. Lots of choices of puzzles. Seems very polished to me, but I’ve never used a puzzle app before to compare it to. Pieces visibly snap into place to give feedback of a correct placement. Only potential negative is using the finger to drag can be “sticky” at times. The Apple Pencil really helps for this, but not absolutely essential. My iPad mini is a bit of a small canvas for this but it’s doable. Would be wonderful on a bigger iPad. Promises many many hours of enjoyment.

Love this game and love Apple Arcade! Don’t have to deal with stupid ads lol. Is there a way to turn off the tips in the puzzles? Every time I do a puzzle it tells me to push the “Edges only” button every time. I like to lock the board but I can’t if that pops up as soon as I open the puzzle to do one. That’s the only issue unless my game is glitched. Other than that I love the game! Definitely would recommend getting Apple Arcade!
