Watching ads for chapters unlocks chapters that are already unlocked… I’d love to love Comikey, but this is some pretty freshman level programming.

App is fine but comickey is kind of trash, once the new manga chapter comes a lot of time the site is down “error 500” up until you have to use currency to buy the chapters and then the site is magically working again

You’ll only ever bother with Comikey to read something you know is exclusive and you already want to read. If you aren’t willing to pay money, the free chapter system is monotonous, especially when a 4-page chapter will take the same amount of resources as a 16-page chapter. Nothing worse than using a daily pass on a short chapter.

Even if you do buy it, you the zoom function just doesn’t function correctly. Once you zoom, you can’t slide the image to read it without sliding to the next page, making it the worst reading experience I’ve ever had on mobile. Reading manga on a browser is more convenient than this.

If you just want to read whatever manga, download jump plus or get a subscription to Viz or use any other manga app.

I installed Comikey excepting a similar experience as other good manga apps, (I.e Shonen jump) and everything fell short, from a buggy reader and taking away over 28$ worth of chapters I had bought after it urged me to sign in, I recommend no one to ever install this useless app

Not only that, they parse chapters out very cheaply, splitting them up into multiple sections to overcharge you for access to each ‘chapter’ this is a poor business

Checked Comikey , checked google, clicked the support link in Comikey Store. No support at all. Can’t read any manga because it refreshes the page every 3 seconds and resets to the first page regardless of how far you swipe or scroll.

Everything is behind a paywall, why do I only get to have 5 ads per day?? Seriously, the comic I like only has 4 pages each, and you’re telling me you want me to waste so much of my time for it to not even be paid off? App is stinky, keeps shoving keys in my face. I’m not going to pay.

This company, like a few others, are extorting Western readers by taking full chapters of stories, and chopping them up into 3 or 4 tiny slivers of a chapter. They then make you pay for each sliver of a chapter as if it were a full one. Basically you end up paying quadruple the amount for a single chapter compared to if you were buying the original work. It’s a scam designed to dupe Western readers who are usually unaware that the chapters are falsely labeled and named. It’s all about extorting money to this company.

I typically like free sites but I also support creators where I can. I can understand why they use the key system to monetize, but honestly I just hate it. Especially for the features when compared with free alternatives.

Needs a lotta fixing. I like the feature where you can read a chapter without having to spend keys just by watching a 30 second ad but it’s nigh impossible to read the chapter when it keeps refreshing to the first page. Hope some update comes out soon fixing that.

Good app,
but once you realize they cut chapters short to double the purchase rate. Binging multiple reads becomes not worth the hassle.
Pick 1 book call it good.

Generally works, but you have to restart it often, sometimes every chapter. Bugs include chapters being blank or not allowing you to advance. So, you pay and read Chapter 4, pay to read Chapter 5, and then get stuck in a loop reading Chapter 4. Comikey will start chapter 5, but immediately bounce you back to Chapter 4. You can break the cycle by killing Comikey and restarting it, but you have to do this for almost every chapter. That said, it otherwise works okay, and the content is good.

Not sure why Comikey doesn’t have a landscape mode 2-page spread. Works on the website version, but half those chapters (on iPad Safari and Firefox at least) show some “unrecognized string” error where it clearly doesn’t point to the correct image location and returns a blank error screen.

Also, tip for anyone noticing the images seem a bit fuzzy. There is a setting in the chapter viewer for “adaptive image quality” which can be turned off. Set the slider to high quality to get crisp images.

Overall not terrible compared to a some other ad supported reader apps, but I can still wish for the day I can buy these series in proper e-book format where the chapters aren’t broken into little pieces. I’ll spend some money here to support the series for which I’ve been wanting an officially licensed release, but definitely not going to be a place I look for new things to read. I’ll stick to e-books and places where the chapters aren’t broken up.

Its a nice app but the only thing i dont like about it is that my “continue reading” is always crowded and i cant delete stories Ive dropped. I hope they will update it so we can delete stories that we dont like or have dropped🫠

Everytime when I’m reading a story it automatic ally jumps into the middle of the chapter. For example I click on to the next episode of what I’m reading and it automatically goes in the middle of the chapter (around the 11th page or 3rd if there’s less). Please fix this!
