The Best Warcraft in a long time!

Blizzard has done it again!! This is a great balance of casual play, with the ability to play as hardcore as you choose. Not Pay to Win, just fun all around!

I love it when she Taz’ my Dingo.

Another fantastic game from the legendary production company Blizzard. Makers of StarCraft, Diablo, and World of Warcraft as well as 2015 game of the year Heroes of the Storm. 6.5/5

Fun and shiny

No idea what I’m doing yet but it’s very bright and happy

Hooked since beta

A great Warcraft themed strategy game. Dumped hours into this game on my downtime, and now that it’s live, I’ll be playing it much more. If you like Warcraft then this is a must play!

By

Choppy and not fun

The opening cinematic seemed like the frame rate was off but that continued into the rest of the game. Even if I didn’t have a iPhone 14 pro max I wouldn’t expect a game from a massive company to be laggy, choppy, or whatever the issue is.

Aside from technical issues I just don’t find the game interesting. Just another rock paper scissors tower defense attempt.

Rumble is SO FUN

This game is amazingly fun!

A lot better than I expected. It’ll be a daily player for me! Great job Blizz.

Game just released. Can’t get to main menu

Just downloaded game. Keeps getting stuck updating. Have to constantly quit and restart app. Not a good release by Blizzard.

By

Game stop download

For me the game doesn’t download as it is supposed to be, and when I start playing there’s some error I think with one update can be fixed…

Anyway as soon it is fixed I will change reviews 🥳

Best game for mobile platforms

This game is super engaging and fun! The art style is gorgeous, the maps will take you back to Warcraft 3 and quests never feel repetitive. Highly recommended!

Exceptionally mid tier

I had high hopes for this game. I’ve been playing Clash Royale since it came out and I’ve been looking for something to replace it. I thought this game would be it but unfortunately it is not. From the get go it barely piqued my interest and I felt I had to power through the tutorial. Barely any explanation as to how counters work or what the card types are. You pretty much just keep spamming cards until someone spams more. The only level of strategy is the miner you put out to get more gold in order to out spam your opponent. Personal gripe here that I can’t see the whole battlefield at once and have to constantly keep scrolling around, makes hard to really anticipate and play your opponent. Game loop is this; place a troop, scroll up to see enemy, oh they played a card in this lane, scroll down, place my card in that same lane to fight their card, scroll up, oh they placed another card in another lane, scroll down, place a card in that lane, repeat this process for the next 3 minutes until someone wins. The other sad part is that I’m early on and I can already see how the micro transactions will only get worse the longer you play. The game is quick to shove a bunch of progression at you at the beginning to make you feel good but that will wear off and the real progress will rely on how much you’re willing to pay. The game is still on my phone but each time I open it I lose all motivation to play.

WOW WOW WOW! I’m Hooked!

So I’m not a Warcraft player and to be honest idk any of the characters. The last Warcraft I played on PC was the first or second title where you could pick orcs or humans and build and battle. That being said I love games like this where it’s PVP and you build your own deck or in this case minis. This game has a HUGE ADVANTAGE over other titles in this genre and that’s the STORY MODE!!! It’s so fun to just be able to play the game on story mode when you don’t wanna really play a PVP match. The minis and their designs and actions are top of the line. It’s clear Blizzard didn’t cut any corners here and it shows. I can’t wait to see what other new things are added to the game as the updates start to come in. I’ve also noticed another big thing that normally effects this genre and that’s the fact that this game is NOT A PAY2PLAY/WIN! It’s literally skill based and that’s a big plus imo. The rewards you get from story mode are more than enough to rank up your minis and be competitive in PvP mode.

Haven’t a clue what’s going on

When you first open this game you’re greeted with a 15 fps cutscene of a cool looking story. It then immediately throws you into a game and starts bombarding you with menial information and telling you to place units down without actually explaining what they do or what they are, and apparently a combat triangle is critical here. So after you win your first game that is handed to you, you’re immediately put into another game all on your own. I have no idea what’s going on other than I can spawn creatures that walk forward and fight - very poorly. I have no idea what counters what because nothings labeled, so I’m just endlessly spawning monsters in. The only memorable one is the kobold that carries a pickaxe. The rest of the character are boring and look alike. There are multiple flying characters, but one is supposed to be siege and the other is ranged, both die instantly. Game doesn’t have any explanation, even as a 15+ year World of Warcraft player, I haven’t a slightest idea what is going on. It’s left me frustrated and unwanting to continue. Haven’t even touched the actual game past what is supposed to be the tutorial to take a look at what a cesspool of a cash grab this is supposed to be. Really unfortunate, I should have definitely learned my lesson from Blizzard pushing out bad games, but I hoped this would be different. It’s not, it’s the same old song and dance.

Legitimately Good

I don’t like mobile games. I actually wish I could play this on my pc. I try mobile games all the time because of their convenience, but never stick with them. I just don’t like playing games on my phone for a number of reasons that I won’t get into.

This game, however, is very good. I’m not very good at it yet, as I’m getting used to its more unique nuances compared to similar games, but I’m always able to eventually pass a mission I get stuck on without having to spend money or grind for hours. It’s fun to play, it’s quick, and it’s adorable. The perks in other games from it are appreciated as always. Nice work, Blizz.

I do get stuck on 50% loading sometimes when launching. It’s usually bypassed by forcing an update check in WarcraftRumble Store or restarting my phone, but it would be super cool if that got fixed soon. Otherwise the connection seems to be pretty good. I’ve only disconnected while on reliable wi-fi maybe twice over the last couple days. It doesn’t seem to be able to hold a connection to the servers if another app has taken priority for more than maybe 30 seconds, but I’m pretty sure that’s just the phone.

Fun until level 55ish

I know this is not so much a game as it is a cash grab but I am from the game generation. I like to have fun and enjoy playing. This is such a grind unless of course you blast thru real money. I spent 10 bucks but I doubt I will spend any more. There is really no permanent gains from spending money just a bit less grind. If say for spending money I got a little extra free xp every day to all my minis that would be good. Or a small permanent xp percentage boost for the money I spent. 25% more xp for 5 bucks or something like that. Other than that the game is fun in small doses. Once I am done with my higher xp quests and the three rewards there is not much to do. The lvl 59+ world quests I can’t beat yet and I have to wait for the next dungeon. I have other games that do this type of pvp better. The legendary missions I don’t even comprehend how the beat. I tried stopping the level 22 miner that levels up with each gold and one hits your tower and uhhh nope.. I stopped him at 22 and killed him but couldn’t get to the boss and another one spawned that I couldn’t get to in time.. maybe the first gold should be further from their home base… I know I am at the point where green is the fastest way to win…

Decent gameplay, pay to win model

I played the game for a few hours. The gameplay is just alright. I’m sure there are more engaging team combinations once you’ve unlocked more minis, but if after three hours it starts to feel like a grind, then it’s not very enjoyable. After these three hours, I was offered a pack for $4.99 that would give me 3x as much gold as I had earned during my playtime. It instantly made me feel like I had wasted my time playing at all, since all I would need to do is spend less than I would for a coffee and have a ton of gold. It made me think of how much I make hourly at my job and equate that to playing the game. If I make say 300 gold per hour and a pack for $5 is 1500 gold. Then I’m basically making $1 an hour in gold in this game. And I’m not complaining about the price of the pack, or the amount of gold you earn in game. I’m annoyed that while playing a video gam, it makes me think of real life working and has me drawing parallels at all. I wish more people would take a harder stance on micro transactions in games, because I know most people would choose for them to not exist given the option. Yet people still rate games that have them 4.8 stars and spend their hard earned money for a fleeting sense of superiority.

Unfair AI and bland pvp

Ontop of insta-countering player actions, the AI also starts off maps with scathing advantages. To the point that you need to be atleast 2 levels higher in order to even put up a fight. And even if you are staying in with more base hp than the AI, the match times out to a ‘draw’ (loss) very rapidly. Gold makes such a ridiculous difference in pvp too that getting even 1 or 2 more gold than the other player very quickly spirals into an unrecoverable pubstomp. All my wins correlate. All my losses correlate. At that point it’s no longer playing for objectives but rather who can kill the enemy miners more efficiently.

Also it’s p2w. The reviews saying it isn’t are blatant lies. What it isn’t, is “exclusive content” from payments- although you “can” get everything in those packs f2p at some point… it’s months and months later based on the content available. The game limits your gold gains and the only way to obtain any past first clears of story mode is the arclight events… 400g total per week. Oh wow. So amazing. When i can buy a 15$ pack for a Rare quality leader that would other wise be a 3 month long grindfest MINIMUM… yeah totally not p2w… oh and sylvanas (the 15$ rare pack leader) singlehandedly obliterates everything in pvp btw so totally balanced. Doesnt even NEED support units.

Nah

Not enjoyable. The game guides you pretty well but it sort of boasts how great the PvP is until you actually have to PvP. The first two PvP games will put you against players who are just as new as you are. You’ll probably win and you’ll feel great!! But then your 3rd PvP match comes… and it puts you with someone who will rush you in a matter of seconds. My 3rd, 4th, and 5th game had me against players who pretty much walked thorough my entire team and took my tower in like 30 seconds and it wasn’t enjoyable anymore. Then after 3 losses in a row it will considers you a beginner once more. All of your progress is back to zero. So you’re matched with another player who just downloaded it. So you’ll win two and think you’ve made a comeback … up until game 3,4,5 again. Either matchmaking is so dead that it’s forcing you to play with people wayyyyy beyond your league or the matchmaking is so broken that after your initial beginner games it’s just a grab bag of who you go against and that’s the worst way to ever create a competitive PvP game. This game will be dead in a few weeks once the blizzcon hype settles. It was cool to demo it at blizzcon but now that I’m home and playing, the PvP gap is just way too steep. It’s a no from me. Uninstalled and uninterested. 🤷‍♂️

A truly respectable game

Original, fun, innovative, kind of a spectacle in a hidden gem kind of way. You can tell the developers aimed to create a non-predatory environment in game (for your wallet, of course). That being said, it does highly incentivize you to spend your money once you get your minions around level 10 to continue the PVE mode. And at that point grinding becomes rather tedious. HOWEVER, having played many grindy games myself, I would say that the method of grinding is far from the worst I’ve seen. Overall, if you plan on playing this game in the long run, I WOULD say you should expect to throw at least SOME money, especially since it occasionally drops time sensitive deals, but because they are not exorbitant, so it doesn’t feel bad. Overall, would recommend, but if you are decidedly against spending any money firmly, you might consider a different a different game. If it’s not a problem for you to drop some dollars, definitely try the game out.

Contemporary with Classic Warcraft Goodness

I’ve been a Warcraft fan for many years. Though I enjoyed WoW for a few years, WoW kind of bummed me out since the game existence basically meant there wouldn’t be a WC4. This game is no WC4, but it does feel a bit like classic Warcraft with a modern twist, which I am enjoying immensely. It’s the next best thing to WC4 if not better (although a new story would be cool, but I understand that would be problematic with WoW) I love that two-headed ogre mages are back on the Horde! My only complaint is that the final tower is very anticlimactic. I wish the main towers were castle/ fortresses to be more in line with classic Warcraft and showcase the importance of protecting the structure. Or if the final tower was a selectable boss, like the bosses in the pve campaign , that would be super cool and add more customization. Also one-eyed Willy (the WoW pet companion) mini needs to be added. HUGE miss ;) Anyhoo, lots of pve and fun competitive pvp with Warcraft characters in their classic format. I’m digging this game a lot.

Still early

I’ve been looking for a game like this! It’s like Clash Royale, hearthstone, and command&conquer had a baby🥹. Purely talking about the game, it’s excellent. I enjoy playing it… maybe a little too much 🤷🏻‍♂️. BUT there are some issues I’ve experienced so far. I’m very aware that this game is brand new and just came out, so I’m not holding it against the Devs, but there have been quite a few crashes mid PvP battles, dungeon excursions, and during the campaign; with that said, it's gradually getting better I’ve noticed. The Biggest🔴 issue was that I purchased a loot pack from the in-game store and received nothing but was still charged😅. I’ve contacted support, and they seem to be actively helping, which is good, but after talking with them, I received the Gold💰but not the troop packs that the bundle advertised, which is a bummer and odd. Other than those issues, I love the game so far and will continue playing as I’m a Hearthstone player and enjoy a different way to interact with the characters I’ve been using for years now.

Fort condor for wow

Warcraft rumble is awesome! It got strategy, epic gameplay, and gnomes!!! If gnomes arent your thing it has other fantasy creatures like orcs, gryphons and trolls oh my! Better than a sidescroller, this game lets you level your game pieces and it has a chesslike feel with gold miners that are like pawns and ground troops like armored soldiers and other fighter classes similar to bishops, flying gnome kamikaze troops like knights and you can even get characters like the archmage jaina or the orc overlord grommash that are more powerful troops that are similar to queens. It has a kind of reverse tower defense feel although you can get towers so its like a tower offense and defense game with both sides pumping out troops and manning the artillery!!!! I love this game and can forsee playing it regularly. I also like how it has ingame bonuses to allow free to play people to keep up even if they dont buy items or troops from the store.

Fun game but needs some fixes

The game is a lot of fun and definitely has potential. The minis are good, the gameplay is fun and gives me back days when crash royal was fun. I’ll keep playing for sure. It’s a new game so balance will still be added to some minis.

However, there are glaring problems that need to be fixed. Blizzard continues to have lag and game crashes in this game just like Diablo 4. Their team in charge of those features cannot get it right. The last thing that needs to change is how the PVE AI play their troops. There isn’t strategy on the pve side. They just have no gold restraints and can have up to 50 gold on the board while you have 10. Most levels you start against about 20 gold on the board. Blizzard is almost a requirement due to the amount of troops they can throw on the board just to kill most of them off. It would be more fun to also limit the AI gold and give them better strategy. If they don’t fix this the game will die for anyone playing the PVE aspect. At about 40 digits this becomes a huge problem.

Lots of bugs!

Lots of bugs 30 seconds between ok button and loading screen. You have to spam the ok button! It varies on time of access. The biggest problem is the game is incredibly grindy. All these companies are getting so predatory with games it’s going to take laws to prevent this garbage style. Game is so fun but you’ll pull your hair out from bugs and over all insane grind if you’re not paying money. Skins and cosmetics with fun game content is way better a system imo! Pay wall are just boring. 3 days in losing interest fast after feeling like it was one of the best mobile game I’ve played since Snap! PvP has potential but you need to grind through impossible lvls and random game modes which are fun but they are so hard cause of exp gaps between all your characters that you end up funneling resources into the wrong things. What ever you do! Do not use the slot machine till after you’ve lvlrd up your mobs. You’re best to use gold to buy the exp tomes that spawn in the shop daily. They will get you through the content so you can farm faster lvl faster and unlock more late game. Exp is the biggest wall in the game not unlocking characters (minis).

Fun but becomes P2W

It’s a great game at first. I progressed through it and had fun playing. You get to a point where you get stuck in the campaign because of difficulty and have to level up your minis, either through xp or star power. Leveling up through xp requires the grind of quests which is basically redoing levels you’ve already done before. Gets tedious, repetitive, and annoying for such little xp gain. The other way to improve is leveling up star power through the shop. This costs gold. And the game loves gold and does not want to give you any. You get some from the campaign but when you get stuck in the campaign, there’s no other gold resource except paying money to get gold. So basically you get to a point where you either grind endlessly on the same levels over and over or spend money to rank up minis. It was fun until I got to this point, but since I don’t want to do either of these things, I stopped playing. The game really needs to provide some type of regular gold generation.

By

Another pay to win cash grab

Progress through the “campaign” is excruciatingly difficult it hints that you need to level up the mini’s and you can only do that repeating previous missions but you get absolutely no reward save for 4xp so you’re grinding for hours to raise random minis that may or may not actually be effective. New minis are outrageously over priced and the only way to get new ones it to actually progress in the “campaign”. You can spend real money to buy - potentially - better minis. The PvP is extremely unbalanced, one match I’m up against someone who is practically new to the game, next match I’m against someone who can churn out minis literally every second minis that I might add are some how more powerful and have a higher DPS than seems possible for the forced level one. 1/2⭐️/5 it’s cute, it’s a great premise, but PvP is drastically unbalanced with little to no real reward to suffer through it, the next to no gold gain without spending real money makes advancing or building a good team extremely slow and again not worth it. Don’t waste your time unless you’ve got a lot of money to burn.

Pay 2 win garbage

The game is pay-to-win garbage like usual. You'll enjoy winning automatically no matter what combination of characters you choose for the first 12 hours of gameplay in order to simulate that you're doing well. Afterwards, you will get into the basic PvE gameplay where you will, on some matches, no matter what you do, no matter how you try, you will lose 20 times in a row to simulate difficulty. It's all a facade to get you to try to pay money. In the end, the money doesn't do anything. What you're paying for is trying to get higher levels, which then gives you further access to the PvE map, but you don't ultimately gain anything in this game. The game is a full waste of time.

Said you’ll be stuck in the usual spot of herod like all their games unless you have levels on your characters which is a giant maze of boring… dont waste a cent if you play… ull only contribute to more junk rip offs..

Glad

Excellent, Blizzard has done it again. As they always do! Love this little distraction. It’s much to my liking! I was concerned it would be much too adulty for little tikes. Of course - shrugs- it has its lovely artsy flare of the traditional Blizzard banners, though very simplified. It’s much like their prior Warcrafty card game and hearthstone game only, with great Easter eggs of all the other WoW games all in one tiny app, so it’s Almost like any other mini game app out there - Almost, but Blizzard, and fortunately in this instance that means it’s a step up. Thus far living up to the typical high Blizzard expectations for excellence in our world of Ever diminishing gaming standards. For me, I still love pc games best over apps, however and that being said, for an app - it definitely bests my 3 star expectations of most second rate mobile time absorbent adult sitters. ^_^ Thank you Blizzard team! :]

Fun game, IAP issues everywhere

The game is great, it’s fun and the in app purchases where targeted don’t feel scammy or overly priced. The only real issues is the abysmal integration of in-app purchases. The game regularly crashes, or resets when the menu comes up to purchase something. I’ve purchased and not received several items and performed all expected operations (restarting phone, restarting app, reinstalling, etc) nothing has worked and Blizzard offers no support other than to tell you to do those things then auto closes to the tickets. I’d recommend the game, but suggest you do a hard pass on anything with real value in the game until they fix the issues seemingly everyone is having from Reddit to other fansites with the in-app purchases. I’m running the latest iPhone (iPhone 15 Pro Max) with iOS 17, so I’m not skimping on tech and as mentioned hundreds of others on Reddit and Twitter are mentioning the same issues across multiple device families.

Great game but lots of bugs

WarcraftRumble resets all the time. Scrolling up and down your troops also crashes sometimes. Clan chat crashes when you send a message. Info from your clan mates takes a lot to load. All this doesn’t affect game progression but it does annoy. The game is great, the mechanics are well designed, the variety of troops is OK, I just wish they weren’t that many troops label as “tanks”, it kinda loses its meaning, but categories like armored or resistant are more relevant and actually adds important twists. I have enjoyed it so far. Also I have spent a decent amount of money on it. So be prepared to spend some at some point, you don’t “need to” but you probably would like to. You can play it for free but you will progress A LOT faster spending money. Good game blizzard folks, keep it good.

Loving it so far buuutttt

I’m loving this game so far but there’s somethings that would make it even better.
1. We’re using our bnet stuff, why can’t I see if any of my friends are playing, because let’s be honest, you more than likely have friends on bnet if you’re playing this game day one.
2. With the clan stuff (and friends if that does get implemented) I would like to see challenges implemented. Won’t level your minis or anything, just test out a new deck or see how it fares against other stuff people come up with. And alongside this why not have a share button, if you have a deck that’s really working for you, show it off.
3. Match replays. Close match in pvp and won by a hair? Share it to friends or clan mates or even replay it so you can screen record and post on discord or Reddit.
4. Don’t shove the pay stuff down our throats, or at least give an option to turn it off. I don’t see myself paying for anything in this, and it’s great that there’s no ads, but it would be nice not to see ‘You’ve unlocked Hogger’s Hoard’ and things like that as frequent. We get it, it will be pay to win, no need to rub it in to the people who don’t want to spend the money or don’t have enough.
5. Show us the rock paper scissors chart in the deck builder.

That’s all I have right now. When I see a few new features put in I’ll up the rating because I really do love the game.

Decent player review

I used to play Clash Royale but fell behind because I did not pay to win, and Rumble seems to be heading in that same route only worse. I have played a lot and got to the Plague lands in the 60s with a collection level of 19 and I just can’t seem to push further. There are at least 5 different cash grab packs at any given time and the amount of EXP you gain is abysmal.

You get to unlock three talents for each of your minis and I eventually found that only one talent is active at a time. This game is already extremely difficult, the AI cheats and gains more gold than you do passively. Most games I control the entire board with every gold mine and chest under my control and yet the AI still pushes out more minis than me.

I really wanted to enjoy this game, and I even remember Blizzard promoting CO-OP for this game early in its development, but I guess just like Overwatch 2, they scuffed that mechanic for more money instead. Overall if you want a game like this I’d say steer clear from Rumble, it is an obvious cash grab.

Money grab

Played for a month. Was fun, then hit the talked about impassible wall. It’s designed to beat you down so you’ll open you’re wallet. I don’t mind micro transactions, if they make sense. This is just fleecing people. You get to certain encounters with an army you like, then have to switch armies to something you may not be playing because it will do better in that particular fight. Problem is those minis are so low level that you’ll spend another month to get them on the level, even with buying xp. PvP will match you with players completely out of your league (on purpose it seems), to give you a beat down, again so you’ll spend money. No explanations of boss mechanics, you think your on your way to a win and be completely wiped because of a surprise mechanic or ability. Rewards for just playing are so minimal it may as well not be there. Thursdays and Sundays are the only time you can earn real gold. Guild rewards are easily earned in about two weeks and then there’s nothing to do or work for. Overall, the gameplay is fun, but the progress grind is incredibly frustrating and debilitating. The way to win, it seems, is to just be 2-3 levels above the bosses. And even that’s hard to do, even with buying xp.

By

Unbalanced cash grab missing basic features

The initial experience was fun. The PvE is great compared to others of the genre. However, for joining the genre 5+ years late, it doesn’t even have basic functionality such as a match summary or replays, friendly battles, etc.

Although technically free, PvP may as well be gated behind a paywall. Your unit levels have throttled/capped levels as you progress in rank, similar to other games, in order to even the playing field at low ranks while the $$ players can rise up. However, you can pay $ for extra abilities for units, and those extra abilities are not gated by rank. The point formula for win/loss keeps most people, even cash players, at a low rank. So after you win ~5 games, you will be placed against people with full rosters of added abilities, against which there is simply no winning if you don’t also have the extra abilities. For f2p it will probably take 6+ months to get a single deck to this point.

If you are a cash player and are still interested, the PvP balance is horrendous. There are a handful of highly OP units, so every match is monotonous with highly similar decks, and deviating from the short list of OP units is a massive power loss.

Really bad

If you enjoy games that are loaded with bugs this game is for you. If you enjoy games where “progression” means almost nothing then this game is for you. Have fun grinding “quests” only to have all those quests scale with your account so that all your effort amounts to next to nothing. Pvp levels are capped at level 1. Honestly there is no point in leveling anything up in this game, your only reward will be more grinding in the same zones to level the same characters only to have everything scale with your level anyway. There is no point in this game. Its repetitive, and no amount of time or effort or even money for that matter will ever get you actually anywhere in the game. Its fun at first, give it a play through, but it is buggy, the pathing is shoddy at best, but the first time you play a zone or level it can be fun, by the 20th time in that zone it gets old. The only reward for beating a new zone is that it gets added into the pool for quests that scale with your level anyways. I gave it a solid try, but it just has no lasting enjoyment at all. Uninstalled before the first season ended.

Mindless but slightly entertaining

The game has the potential to be a fun Warcraft themed mobile game but it has some major issues. The first of which is that despite having a good foundation, it’s clear that the games design is hampered by this god awful attempt at the Free to Play monetization business model. So rather then design a FUN feature they substituted it with unnecessary incentives to buy progression mechanics.

Second is that on top of game design focus on incentivizing the player to buy gold, the level design and game mechanics aren’t well done. Level difficulty fluctuates between increasingly easy and thoughtless mini spam to literally impossible to complete levels until you level up your minis (in other words you should be buying gold to level them up).

Again, this game has the foundation to be an entertaining game you can quickly play on your phone or iPad but lacks any real strategy or game design because the real focus is to create a slot machine that naive player dump money into so that they can continue to pull the lever.

Eh

Honestly, this game is really fun. I’ve been following the Warcraft franchise from Warcraft II and it’s fun to play with the characters I grew up with. The art is fun, graphics are good, gameplay is challenging and rewarding. My one negative point is that the pay walls to get through story mode and the vast advantage pay to play players have in PVP. One minute your playing along and the next 15 matches you play it’s zero contest. Their minis are all leveled and have multiple perks( available only if you keep paying for packs and for gold to by mini upgrades). If you can spend the money, go ahead! If your broke like most of us, honestly just play until you can’t. I’ve spent ~$50 and I might as well have not spent a dime with the progress it got me.

EDIT:
since my last post I spent another $50 on various upgrade packs, and I was doing alright in PVP and on the hard mode stages. Hit a paywall in PVE, new update comes out and PVP is immediately flooded with PTW people. This game is so fun but I cannot afford to pay to be competitive. Good luck, have fun, but I’m deleting this game.

Rumble on!

Really fun game right from the start. Easy for all ages yet has enough depth to become very competitive. I love building teams while also being able to choose and unlock known heroes throughout the Warcraft universe. I think the pace of the game is fun so far and the mechanics on each map help spice things up. It’s a breath of fresh air to play this mobile game and I’m sure some will try and compare to “Clash Royal” but this game is really on it’s own level. The sound effects, music, and interfaces are all FLAWLESS. It’s what you would expect from Blizzard and more. I am really looking forward to dungeons, raids, and PvP. I hope they expand upon these modes and build progression systems that have depth and strategy to them. I also hope they add more customization to the teams you build. Overall this is a fantastic game that anyone can enjoy. You don’t need to know everything about World of Warcraft to get started. However, having played WoW makes it all that much better!! Familiar characters, areas, and abilities in a brand new incredible game that is filled with action and mechanics that keep you interested in what’s going to happen next. Highly recommend this game.

Pretty good game

So, whether you like Warcraft or not, it’s a fun game. It doesn’t have the complexity of some of the other strat games out there, but that’s what makes this one great. There isn’t a huge and arduous intro, and it doesn’t feel as planned as other games. The pick up and play feel is great. The difficulty ratios aren’t super fine tuned and the grind can get very grindy. I found myself getting stuck at certain places for a while with a random breakthrough that then allowed me to move forward. That might be the intent so you buy coins. But you can be successful without spending anything. I’d love to see more daily login reward and other activities to build xp or earn gold. Also, the Arclight events have been buggy since the last update. That’s your main source of good day to day. Sometimes is says an arclight is surging and nothing happens. Other times I get no notification and there’s two of them. And one day there was a bug that let you do them an unlimited amount of times. Either way, bugs aside - it’s a solid 4/5. With some rebalancing and increased things to do it’s a 5 all the way.

Blizzard’s moneymaker

The game is fun, for awhile. It offers easy playability and a straightforward way of leveling up initially that gives you a sense of progression and achievement. But it quickly plateaus. It’s easy to sink $20, $40, $100 to level up a couple minis. You could easily spend $1000 and receive very little improved gameplay for it. Additionally the game offers little in the way of making gold through gameplay. The occasional Arclight surge offers this opportunity but only about one out of three actually works. The game says it’s happening but it actually isn’t activated. PVP is unfortunately incredibly redundant with one map offered at a time with little variation. The PVE experience is fun until you eventually hit a wall that requires spening money to level up enough to then gain a few levels and experience the same old plateau. In the end it seems they’ve built in all kinds of limitations/parameters to level your minis that forces you to wait a long time and/or spend a LOT of money. Only to find yourself more or less in the same place with the same repetitious gameplay no matter what. At the very least I hope the Arclihht surge is remedied soon so it actually offers what it says it does.
Oh and they recently took back a bunch of gold that was earned so that many of us went into negative gold!
Worth playing and fun just not much value in terms of momey spent or evolving gameplay.

Great until…

I was anticipating this game quite a bit until I finally got to play it and it definitely delivered. If you are a Warcraft fan or not you will still enjoy this game a lot until. The references Blizzard does to the Warcraft universe are lovely. The battles are fun until. The game play is fun until. Now you’re probably wondering why all does untils are well here goes. You WILL get to a point where you won’t enjoy the game anymore unless you spend a lot of money. You WILL get to a point in the game where you need to spend in order to progress decently. You will get to a point in the game that you will feel stressed out if you DONT spend. This seems to be the formula for a lot of great games out there right now and it’s just become overwhelming. It’s hard to relax and enjoy the game for longer than 30 minutes although within those 30 minutes it will be fun it will funny and chaotic but the feeling that you HAVE to spend money to ENJOY the game will always be in the back of your head. Great game until… it’s not.

Could be great if it was stable

It almost pains me to write this review, because this game has so much potential for greatness. Great art direction, animation, audio, and the gameplay itself (when working) is quite fun, with much more potential for strategy than some other top-down “rush” style games.

Unfortunately, none of this matters because Warcraft Rumble is the buggiest, most crash-prone mobile game I have ever played since the dawn of the smartphone. PVP is meant to be the core of the game, but instead is an exercise in frustration. Simply trying to start a PVP match results in multiple crashes, sometimes back to the title screen, sometimes completely out of the application. If you DO manage to get into a match, and stick with it long enough to win, your reward is often another crash.

This has been the case for weeks, despite multiple patches, and with Blizzard having recently laid off over a thousand of the very people who made their games successful, I hold very little hope of this situation turning around. It’s a real shame, because some talented people put hard work into this game and it appears to have been left to die on the vine.

Very fun mobile game to scratch that Warcraft itch

Been playing since thanksgiving and bought the booster and a few of the cheap packs ($40 total spent). I have a daily average of ~1 hour and it’s great. People complain about how slow it is but it’s a mobile game and you’re suppose to play it slow. Like during your lunch break or when you’re sitting on the toilet or when you’re in the parking lot of market basket and you tell your spouse that it’s super busy inside but you just wanna get away from your two toddlers. I’ve bought games for consoles and PCs for more than I’ve spent on this game and they have been significantly worse. Sure, there’s bugs. Okay, yes, whales (people that spend a lot on micro-transactions) ruin your PvP experience, but that doesn’t happen unless you’re good at PvP and over 3k rated. Also, PvP is like 1/4 the game. The campaign is great and the dungeons are great. Except the second boss of Gnomeregan, god, electrocutioner 6000 is a see you next Tuesday. I do not understand the mentality of people who spend money on mobile games or complain about having to spend money on mobile games. You are literally paying money to finish the game faster. Isn’t the whole point to waste time so you don’t have to think about how the awful reality is? Anyways 7/5 with rice

Design to waste your time and spend money

Blizzard has a rule and a style of not respecting their players. All of their games are very high in rng. They love to take control away from their players. Successful games let you control your game and your actions. You can’t choose which cards you want to use first. So rng dictates if you win or lose. Also, there’s a huge grind to level up the minis. They will give you very little exp to force you to pay them for exp. They want to spend your resources is very standard way, like 10 gold per game, but not for the AI. Dungeons and most pve content have a different spending system than the player. While you can summon two 4 good cards at a time the AI does like two 4 gold, then a 5 gold and finally 3 more cards that cost 3 gold each. The limit is 10 gold per player but for the AI its has no limit. Again is made to make you lose, frustrate you and make you spend money. Not different from other cellphone games. But the worst part is the rng. Blizzard is a company that never listen, no one likes rng in their games and they alway double down rng in each product they launch. If at least they let you control your deck and the order it would make a huge difference. But again rng is their drug, you have to take the kool-aid. There’s so many games that you can control your actions. That is better. Always.

Difficulty scales too fast in the early game

If you like the reverse tower defense kind of games you might like this just be warned the difficulty ramps excessively fast. I got to about level 10 and started having trouble so I decided to go back to the earlier levels to grind a bit. I was not expecting to steam roll them, but I was not expecting the very first level of the game to completely destroy me over and over. There are a lot of people who have come to enjoy it and maybe I’m just bad at this type of game. However, I personally found it very unenjoyable, and it felt akin to go to being pressure to look at the cash shop to buy power. Now even if you lose you still get some power but it is a slow trickle. It would be the kind of thing I would expect if I was mid game or later not very early on. Once more a more skilled player could probably do it easily, but I felt the difficulty ramps way too fast for someone in learning or a casual player. I would, however, be open checking in a year from now to see if anything changed.
