Charge your for a 1 year subscription that is more expensive than any other language learning app including Rosetta Stone, Babbel or Duolingo Premium. Compared to those apps this is a one trick pony that tries in a very unsophisticated way to memorize words and phrases. No grammar, no conversation and no conjugations. Just words and phrases you will have no ideas how or when to use in conversation. Do not even bother trying.

This is strictly a vocabulary app with no grammar and no gender of the vocabulary. A person absolutely could not learn to speak a language with 10MinuteFrench, but if the goal is to learn only vocabulary, then the way that it uses multiple approaches to vocabulary could be effective for that. The description of 10MinuteFrench makes promises that they definitely can’t keep.

I cancelled my subscription during the free trial. I even took a screenshot of the cancellation and it has to date that the subscription would end (which was the last day of the trial period). When the trial ended I was still charged FOR A YEAR of app use!! I tried contacting customer support on the issue. Sent them several emails and no response. They straight up STOLE $85 and then ghosted. Do not use 10MinuteFrench!!!

I downloaded 10MinuteFrench and intended to only use the free trial. 10MinuteFrench promises to send a reminder when the free trial is about to end so you can cancel it if you wish. I never got a notification nor could I find anywhere in 10MinuteFrench to cancel. In 10MinuteFrench ’s settings, the only option in “restore purchases”, where it just checks if you have a subscription or not. What?! Additionally, the website’s link “Write to us” does nothing, so there is no way to contact support besides through this review Im currently writing.
This is extremely frustrating and I highly recommend that no one downloads 10MinuteFrench.

I started my free trial, and completely forgot about using it. So when weeks later, I looked at 10MinuteFrench again and the options available still offered a free trial, I selected it again. I was immediately charged for a year’s subscription. I contacted Apple support, and explained the issue and the reason for confusion, and they said I’d have to contact 10MinuteFrench developers directly for a refund. I have reached out by email and have not received a response. I never leave bad reviews but this practice feels shady and I’m very frustrated by the lack of response.

You can do nothing at all without paying

I was charged and tried to cancel within the week. I would appreciate a refund. 10MinuteFrench is not what I am looking for.

The marketing for 10MinuteFrench shows a paragraph being read with words being highlighted and translated. 10MinuteFrench is actually just them giving you vocabulary words like flash cards.

I was excited with 10MinuteFrench - but got thru only 5 minutes before I hit a technical snag I couldn’t resolve. I was writing a phrase in French and there wasn’t a space key - so the letters all ran together. It couldn’t advance or go back -
I quit and deleted app. It had potential

I tried 10MinuteFrench for a few days during the free trial period. I decided I didn't want it and could not cancel before they charged me. I've tried but my emails don't go through and I don't t know what to do to cancel and get my money returned.

I’m just not paying to learn a language on an app. Make me watch a 10 second add and if I like your app then I’ll pay. You can’t even see what services you’ll be paying for unless you buy it. You could do a trail but who has time to do that then go into settings and cancel it. 🤷‍♂️

The learning stops at certain words and you need to start all over again.
I am not sure about 10MinuteFrench! I wanted to try it for few days but I was surprises that I got charges for a year!

I downloaded 10MinuteFrench to practice french and, truth be told, I didn’t fancy the layout throughly. Just my personal preference. I tried cancelling my subscription and there is no where I can go to cancel it. I messaged ‘support’ 3 times already and no one has stepped in to help out.

I downloaded 10MinuteFrench because the ad showed learning French while watching an episode of Wednesday. Now, I see that feature is not an option at all. The developer answered other people’s reviews saying they haven’t finished making that feature yet & developing it takes time. YOU SHOULD NOT BE ADVERTISING A FEATURE THAT DOES NOT EXIST YET (and probably never will). That’s dishonest, and you know it.

You also can’t do any learning at all in 10MinuteFrench without signing up for a paid subscription. I’m not rushing to pay this developer money when they’ve already blatantly lied to me. What a joke.

I paid for the subscription and 10MinuteFrench literally does not work. I start a learning exercise and it won’t move past the first question. Waste of money…must be a bug or something

Downloaded to learn from transcriptions to movies. 10MinuteFrench looks cute but is pretty expensive and starts out by just blunt word memorization. You read the word, then you do recall through translation. No option to get the movie transcription that was so actively advertised. Maybe it comes later down the line but I’m not prepared to pay $80 a year for something free apps already do, sorry.

10MinuteFrench did not work, I contacted the developers twice. I never got the reminder to cancel the subscription, so I have been charged and I have used it 3 times without succeeding.
There is no phone number to call or email to write. I have been robbed!

Too buggy to use.

Questionable accuracy, the randomization in the training is actually very predictable, and the words you’re learning constantly placed in a multiple choice with a bunch of words you’re not learning, which is not helpful for advanced or even probably beginner learners in terms of actually learning the spelling of recall of the word. Giving two stars for the size of the vocabulary on offer although again, a lot of them seem irrelevant or wrong.

10MinuteFrench was going to be great. I was super exited to download 10MinuteFrench and then it said you had to pay it. 😢. If you would put it for free it eould would be the best app ever. I’m disappointed.

Invaluable for learning vocabulary

I like this bc it’s similar to how I’d study in school. Not just memorizing but memorizing front to back, back to front.

I’ve learned so many new French vocabulary words in just a few months using this application! The method used is really efficient for memorization.

I appreciate that you get to practice pronunciation, spelling, and memorizing past vocab. I also visually like the layout of 10MinuteFrench .

I am really enjoying 10MinuteFrench with all excellent features, I hope the developers of 10MinuteFrench keep on updating it to keep it fresh and up to date.

Open Settings » ~Your name~ » and click "Subscriptions".
Click the 10 Minute French (subscription) you want to review.
Click Cancel.

I like the flash card system, but I’ve seen it better presented by brainscape. I’ve got enough experience that I don’t need the sound portion, but if you do need it this is a great app.

The pronunciation practice is the best part, so helpful. It’s why I renew my subscription.

This is a great app to build vocabulary in French. I have a lot more words and short phrases that help me in professional conversations. Has been an incredible journey

Actually a pretty cool app. Teaches about 5500 words from what I can see - many of which aren’t on Duolingo but are nonetheless really helpful for communicating. Definitely recommend as a supplement to learning french
