App pauses workout

App pauses the workout while you’re running and walking. Really disappointing.
I have an Apple Watch and there’s no way to tie iRunCouchtoRunner to the watch. First time out on my run, I was pushing my daughters stroller, so I put my phone in the holder of the stroller. It kept pausing the workout. I tried locking the screen and it would still pause the workout even though I didn’t touch it and it was locked. It would only work if I was holding the phone. This does not workout well while also trying to push a jogging stroller.

Lacking features

Although the general product works satisfactorily, the premium version, for a quite expensive price (especially compared to competitors) lacks many important features. The inability to customize your workout plan after you have selected the difficulty options when you download iRunCouchtoRunner is frustrating, especially when you cannot skip workouts that are too easy or jump to workouts later in the program that challenge you more (all of my workouts have been). Also, more options regarding the voice used for running would be nice, such as the ability to change how the voice speaks over your music or gives halfway/10 second warnings (I personally like these features)

Disappointing

I really dislike the inflexibility of this program. I would like to unlock a workout when it is convenient for me- which is sometimes less than 24 hours after the previous run. I’d like to know exactly what to expect in terms of interval times before starting. I bought this by mistake thinking it was a different app that I had liked in the past.

It’s cool but not flexible enough.

iRunCouchtoRunner is pretty good and it sets realistic goals for running times especially for someone like me who hates to run, but I do not like that I pay weekly for iRunCouchtoRunner and I’m not able to access pass workouts. I also do not like that I am not able to redo workouts if I feel it was too challenging the first time. I believe there should be more flexibility especially for an app you’re paying weekly for.

Too difficult

This is DEFINITELY not a couch to 5K. More like a “I’ve run before and trying to get back into it to 5K”. The second workout is alternating 2 min walking and 2 minutes running. If you’ve been sitting on the couch for 10 years, there’s no way you can run for 2 minutes straight. And there is no “jog”. It’s walk or run. I don’t like how the countdown is every 24 hours…..I always have to skip the countdown because I workout at the same time everyday. I love the idea of iRunCouchtoRunner but I feel like it should have a different name because it’s definitely NOT for new runners

Love this app but maybe a few changes

Today was the first day that I tried iRunCouchtoRunner. I liked it for the most part and some benefits were that it tells you when to start running, and pushes you to work through it. My only concern is that it doesn’t tell you how much calories you burned and how far you went. If you are playing music, the sound does overlap so that you can pay attention and jam out. This is a really easy way to get fit and i think you should check it out!

Workout Progress

I wish there was a way to see the progress of each workout during the workout. It is nice to know that I am halfway through each segment, but knowing I had only 3 more runs left or 1 more run left would be nice. It would make me push harder through the last couple knowing I was almost done.

Longest I’ve ever run!!

I’m not a runner, but took it up when I got laid off from work. At first it was hard but pushing my self to run 3 mins than walking and then 3 more minutes became a game. Now I’m on level 7, about to run my second 5k (turkey trot), and can run for 26 mins without stopping. I just wish at this level there was more stop and go to keep it interesting!!

Great app

Great app! Easy to use and has voice notifications telling you when to run and walk. My only complaints are that it’s not compatible with my watch, and there needs to be a smaller jump in runs between week 3 and 4. Manageable steps will keep people engaged.

I hate running

It helps plan your workout so you don’t have to think about it, you just do it. Set a goal and you’re more likely to achieve it if you feel like someone is planning it for you. I’d like to see the next workout at any time though. Instead of having to wait 24 hours to see what the workout is. I don’t mind waiting to do it so it forces you to rest but I still want to know what I’m going to be doing next.

The app is great but…

I have used this apps runs a couple of times now and I love the concept. My only complaint is the first few levels were wayyyy to easy for me. I understand working your way up, but I wasn’t challenging myself at all. And this wouldn’t bother me if I was able to skip workouts until I found one that had at least a small challenge to it. Either way I am just gonna skip some of the walking intervals until I reach a harder level

Never thought I could be a runner

iRunCouchtoRunner helped me push through the mental part of running. A friend recommended iRunCouchtoRunner and it changed running for me. Granted some of the workouts were hard but after finishing all the levels, I can run a mile without stopping with no problems. I will be forever grateful for iRunCouchtoRunner! GENUINELY!

Great!

I just started using iRunCouchtoRunner, but so far i really like it. Clear directions and good communication! Easing me into fitness. Very doable even if you haven’t been active in a long time! I didn’t realize you could bypass the ‘24 hour’ setting inbetween workouts! This is helpful because I have a schedule that differs from day to day.

Awesome App

I’ve never been a runner before this. I want to get ready for track this spring and this is an awesome app to get ready. I love how it shows you everything after your workout, gives you a rest day, and tells you step by step what to do. I also like that there is a warm up and cooldown. Awesome app for beginners that are starting to run or want to get into running.

Needs one update IMO

Love iRunCouchtoRunner . I like the constant notifications “you’re halfway,” “10 seconds left,” etc. But please lessen or completely erase that 24 hour period between workouts. If I have a couple days off in a row, I might want to do 11am one day and 9am the next day, for example. iRunCouchtoRunner will make me wait. Let me get back out there before I lose the motivation to do it that new day.

Sickkk

I really love iRunCouchtoRunner. It makes running soooo easy and the way it caters to the level you’re on when you start is wonderful. Workouts aren’t too hard and aren’t too easy. premium has great features at a reasonable price, and the free one is perfect for the basics. Keep it up!!!

Just finished first run!

Easy to use and set up! iRunCouchtoRunner was super easy to use, gave great directions, let me play my music, and was a fun first run! It also sent the exercise to my apple health. I would like to see a watch version so I don’t have to carry my phone!

Thank you!

My experience getting out there and running again to be a part of a 10K with my daughter, which I will only run a 5K has been doable with your app. Thank you so much for creating this for everyone to benefit.!

Recommended to me

A friend recommended iRunCouchtoRunner and I kept putting off trying it. In the meantime, I tried another run training app that I had previously purchased and it wasn’t working for me. I’ve tried this and I love it! I like the simplicity and the ability to listen to my own playlists while using iRunCouchtoRunner . I would recommend it to others just like my friend did for me.

Great!

As a beginner runner iRunCouchtoRunner has been perfect to get me started on my running journey. Builds a program based on you! Great intervals and you can still listen to your own music. You can chose whether or not you’re running outside or inside and it encourages rest between each run session.
