Monument Valley 2 Reviews

I got this because I heard it was a beautiful high rated puzzle game. While it certainly is beautiful visually with nice music and sound effects, the puzzles seem half-baked. Finished in like 2 hours of gameplay and was like what? I thought I was still in just the intro of the game haha. The puzzles themselves were never once puzzling, but could be tedious. I figured they were building up a “language” of obstacles while I was playing and that any moment the true game would begin. But it never did. Disappointed after all the hype.

This new chapter is gorgeous, once again. Visually and aurally it absolutely lovely. The game play, however, is way too simple. More so than in the previous outing. This escheresque universe is ripe for more challenging complexities, but it rarely explores those, unfortunately. It just plays in a very straightforward, albeit relaxing way. It’s short and sweet. I can’t say it’s a bad thing, but perhaps it misses an opportunity.

While this game is still beautiful, it’s missing a lot of the elements that really made the first one unique in its aesthetic. The storyline is also kind of confusing. Game play is sort of awkward due to there being two people onscreen that almost mirror each other. More than anything though, the puzzles are just WAY too easy. The first game was decently challenging and I was stumped a few times. But this one is very boring in my opinion. It’s a cool game to zone out to and it’s relaxing, but I wouldn’t call it a puzzle game.

It’s WAY too short. Absolutely adore the gameplay and visuals, but breezed through this in a couple days of light play. I’m sure to add more levels would be to make the game too large of a download on a lot of phones, so I get it. I’d give this 5 stars if there were more levels, or replaying offered different paths, but now that I know how to solve the puzzles, the replayability and challenge factor are negligible.

Amazing game, though. Really loved it.

The amount of love and attention crafted into each level is really something special, this is just one of those games where everything about it feels intentional and wonderful. So many things to say… it’s like playing with an intriguing toy, observing some mind bending & gorgeous art, figuring out clever & unique puzzle mechanics, & following a story that’s a meditation on love, learning, and & how we can transcend from nurturing that in each other. Lastly I just want to say the sound design and music is great and very very much appreciated, definitely play with headphones if you can.

I rarely if ever write a review about a game, but I really enjoy this game quite a bit. I have never played a game like this where I feel so relaxed with the sounds, and yet I was kind of on the edge of my seat trying to figure out the puzzles. I hope I can find more games like this or that more games will be developed that are similar to this. Thanks for the fun challenge.

So when I downloaded this game I wanted to play so after a few hours I completed the whole thing and I was so confused but really enjoyed it with the first version. There are lots and lots and lots of illusions like doors with invisible tunnel doors and can grow up in a flower and in monument valley 1 there is a mirror to show the original Ida?? So confused great job👍

This game is drop-dead gorgeous. The illusions and puzzles are really worth seeing. When I talk about a pretty nature, this is what I mean. The work put into this game is so worth it. Please, if you have Apple Arcade or want to buy this game do it without any hesitation, you won’t see a game like this anywhere. Monument Valley will always never fail to impress.

Monument Valley is a wonderfully designed puzzler that brings together artistry, challenges and a good dose of zen! With seeming endless number of levels, you could play this game for hours and not get bored. I especially love how you can personalize the game at the end of each chapter with your own signature light design. I can’t wait for the next release from ustwogames!

I played Monument Valley before I started this one. I will admit I was sad Ida wasn’t here but the new characters were great. I love how silent they are and get I got emotional (SPOILER) when they parted on the boat! The puzzles are very interesting and I’ve never been into a game like this before. I loved playing this and I did all the side stories.

The animations are beautiful and the music is very calming.🌄

This game has the usually beautiful and engaging visuals, but the sound is truly engrossing. Not all the way through yet, but the use of two people (Mother and Child) is an intriguing new mechanic, and when the Child goes off on their own, and the level is in monochrome, that was truly beautiful. Play on the largest screen possible with a good set of headphones and you’ll be transported to another world.

Monument Valley I was possibly my favourite game of all time, at least top 3. This game brings all of the same things I loved about the first game. It has gorgeous art and intricate, creative puzzles. This is never too hard or too easy. The underlying story to this game is slightly different, but tied to the story of the last one. I really hope that they continue to make more of these games!

I played the original momument valley and I was blown away by the simple complexity the game had. This one I went in with expectations and left with them fullfilled and then some. I was also so happy to see our old friend the stack dude return! I was so sad when we lost him the first time, but this time HE HAS A DOOR! That completely blew me away. Guys don’t stop making this high quality games. Also, assembled with care is such an amazing and touching game if you’re reading this check it out. Its made by the same team and I think its so good.

This game did everything monument valley 1 did, but better. The way the blocks moved, the illusions they created, and the audio were all just as good if not better than the original and this one did something monument valley 1 didn't do, it told a story. I smiled a couple times playing this game and i dont usually smile while playing mobile games. Ustwo, i would love another sequel.

I’m not really a game type of person.. but I am a puzzle person!! Monument Valley, & Monument Valley 2, are absolutely the best games that I have ever played!! Wish I could find something remotely close, now that I completed both versions.. really wish I would have paced myself!! Anywho thank you so much for making these great games!! I would certainly be willing to pay for more boards.. just saying.. hint.. hint!!!

This series is really fantastic. MV2 adds some welcome new features but I feel isn’t as challenging as the first and rather repetitive. I was able to complete this game in roughly half the time of the first because once I learned the “theme” of the puzzle it was easy to solve. The first one seemed to mix it up a bit more. Still a must play for everyone that enjoyed the first one though!

Totally get this also get the first one because it’s emotional amazing no Internet brain teasers and it is always just it breaks your brain a bit but then it’s always so emotional and touching it. Touches your heart always get totally recommend five stars except what I want is for there to be a Monument Valley three that’s what I’m looking for, I want there to be another one because I’ve already done all of the levels all of the Monument Valley

So I have the original Monument Valley 2 (That requires money) on another device (That I no longer had for about 3 years 😕) Since I bought Apple Arcade for a month, I decided to get the plus version. Each level was so nostalgic and some were a challenging since I haven’t played in a long time. The most nostalgic part was the end. The music was beautiful but the game was sadly short. Please make a third game that would be the best thing ever. Bye 😁

This is a true masterpiece! Thank you developers for giving us such joyous beautiful game. All MVs are a true work of art and talent. I imagine it takes a team of talents and geniuses to create a game that’s so amazing. It’s not too difficult but you do have to think and see the scene from different angles. This is definitely a MUST play! I’ve played previous versions several times over. But this game does spoil you for all the games to come because nothing will seem good enough after. Other than a few other great games like The Room for instance (all versions).

I don’t remember one time when I was playing this that I got bored. It also never glitched and is just as good as monument valley 1 I hope that they make more of MonumentValley2 like monument valley 3 or something. And even though there’s really no sound you still know exactly how the characters are feeling. I love MonumentValley2 so much
