I had initially signed up to take advantage of an offer that seemed like a good deal in terms of cost for a 2 TB plan. After a little while, I decided I should probably cancel. I reached out to the support team (the only way to cancel) and let them know I wasn’t happy with it. They then told me something to make me think of it more as a security service and not simply something like Dropbox/ Google drive, and I ended up not canceling. I then had no doubt that from a security standpoint, my data would be safe, now though I’m not so confident having used the software that it will really be reliable in the end.

Now I’m trying to use NordLocker by uploading a bunch of files since I have all that space to play with, but their software for doing this is very underdeveloped. Everything takes a long time to upload, organizing things (especially keeping track of what’s uploaded vs on your local disk) is not intuitive, on and on. While it’s too late for me to cancel, you can be sure that without a MAJOR overhaul of NordLocker I will not be a returning subscriber at any price. Very disappointing.

NordVPN is pretty great most of the time, but their other apps such as the locker are very lacking. this app has you upload files one at a time. I can’t select an entire album of photos and set them to upload over the next hour or more. It appears the iPhone app lacks the option to share lockers from the phone. I can only view shared lockers and when I click on share a locker it shows me who I have it shared to but not an option to actually share it…Tresorit is simply better on every level right now.

They have recently decided to no longer support on device encryption and are forcing you to throw all of your files online when it’s a lot easier to hack into your account online than it is to physically access your computer before you can access those files which means you got a physically enter my home compared to anywhere online. I also received some phantom charges on my credit card and asked them why I was given another two years and they said that I did that but then there’s another charge and I have everything set up to not automatically renew. I’m going to have to call the credit card company tomorrow and tell them to restrict any more charges towards this company and I’m going to challenge the previous charges. I’m in through December 2028 now and I never signed on for more than one year. I feel like I’m being scammed. These people can’t be trusted. I’m done for life. Backstabbed and done 😤

My this app subscription has been active for about 6 months. In that time, there has been a single 2-3 week period in which I was able to upload files from a laptop without being prompted to reenter the master password every few minutes, and uploads timing out. It has never worked on my iOS device. NordVPN is great, and I decided to try out this app based on that reputation. If you’re thinking of trying out this app based on the same logic, beware: as of May 2023, Nord is a one-trick pony, and it isn’t cloud storage.

NordLocker sometimes won’t even open won’t upload photos I’ve put on but now I can’t upload anything else I’ve used 3 gigs a total of 0%of the space and it’s taken me hours and hours to do that I’ve been giving it breaks for days restarting my devices it works better on my Samsung phone apple tablet is basically unusable. I bought it cause they marked it way down but instead of doing that and adding more customers on to a poor product they should have fixed the issues before giving out such a deal very bad business in my opinion. Honestly deserves zero stars prob should be looked into by the better business bureaus or something cause it just absolutely terrible. Save your money save your headache they should have paid me to use this and more then I paid them.

I use NordVPN. So I really really wanted to use and LIKE NordLocker. I always use my 1st gen iPad Pro in LANDSCAPE MODE. NordLocker seems to be locked into Portrait Mode. No thanks. I returned to the Home Screen and closed NordLocker .

As an Apple Developer, I can honestly say there is NO REASON to lock an app into Portrait or Landscape mode…other than lazy or apathetic development. My apps screens AUTOMATICALLY adjust to the device’s orientation. If a lone developer like me can implement that, then certainly a company with Nord’s resources, should be able to do it as well. It does make me wonder what other ridiculous problems might exist beyond NordLocker ’s welcome screen.

There are similar apps out there… but none of them really seem to be “polished”. None of them would merit a 5 out of 5 stars.

If I had my own storage service, or the API specs for this app, I would write my own app for this.

I’m an iOS developer myself so let me give you guys some honest advice since you respond to every review & haven’t addressed a single complaint:

- Almost every rating you’ve received in 2023 are 1-2 star reviews for a reason. NordLocker has a horrendous UI/UX design that’s not suitable for today’s standards at all
- You can only upload 1 file at a time which is a joke. Almost every cloud storage app on NordLocker Store is the complete opposite. Extremely embarassing
- You can’t swipe between photos uploaded
- Files don’t have previews
- You have to enter your password during every relaunch. One of the laziest functionalities when managing user login data
- Plenty of flimsy, lazy annoying bugs while browsing through uploaded files

Why don’t you guys fix these issues? Ask your developer(s) to address each of these points I mentioned & you’ll see a huge change in your rating

If you already have it & within 30 days. Cancel and get your $$ back. Nord Pass & Nord VPN (imo) are both good apps. Nord locker is slow and the worst part. Worst part BY FAR is there are no thumbnails. None. So how in the world are you going to see your pictures if you put gb’s of photos &. Vids in here. It would take 7-8+ hours to find anything. It’s truly mind boggling. If you have it, you don’t use it. I am a fan of Nord, this is so far below useable though it frustrates me that I paid for it. There’s not one individual anywhere on Gods’ green earth that is happy with Nord Locker.

I have subscriptions to every Nord product and I like them all, except the current version of this app. I really want to switch from storing all my important stuff on Google Drive to storing it all on this app, and have been waiting anxiously for NordLocker to hit NordLocker Store. But now that it’s out and available on NordLocker Store, it leaves a lot to be desired. First of all, I shouldn’t have to enter my master password every time I want to open my this app. My master password is long and complex, so I have to log into my NordPass account, then copy and paste my password into the launch screen. This sometimes malfunctions and refuses to let me log into my this app at all! Then once inside, it is a pain to switch between files. All in all, I think once this app has been around and had the kinks/bugs worked out, it’ll be a fine app. But for now, there’s still a lot that needs to be improved upon before it becomes my (or anyone’s) cloud storage app of choice.

NordLocker does what it claims, it just doesn’t do it well. I’m going to list everything that I find frustrating

1. NordLocker is just plain slow. It takes like 10 seconds to upload a single photo, and you can’t upload more than one at a time. It took me 2 minutes to upload 6 photos, a resume, and a video.
2. You can’t swipe between files, forcing you to view and exit each one manually.
3. You can’t rename your files, and you can’t see what the files are unless you view them. So if you have a bunch of files and you’re looking for a specific one, good luck.

I feel like NordLocker needs to act more like a photo gallery than Dropbox.

NordLocker is functional, and I think will definitely get better with time, it’s just not really up to snuff yet

I’m certain NordLocker will get better overtime. There are a few things that prevent me from giving a higher score.

1. No file images to know what you’re looking at - most of my files have randomized computer names which makes it difficult to know what file I’m opening unless there is a preview of the file when looking at the list of files in a folder. Which there isn’t.

2. No mass file upload - this would make a great backup of huge photo albums on your phone that you’d want to keep secured. But single file uploads makes that idea impractical. It’d be nice to not rely on google photos which are well known to not respect privacy.

Hopefully these will be implemented in near updates.

I like being able to have this so I can transfer things across my pc to my iPhone. I mainly use it to transfer photos, which is maid very hard by the lack of a feature to scroll between photos in the preview mode. Would also do with more sort view options in the main view!

It would be nice to be able to slide through photos instead of having to go back and selecting the next one and opening it up in a file viewer each time. I can’t just slide from photo to photo? There’s also no preview of the image. I have to guess what imagine it is by the name and date. I want to like NordLocker and transfer all my stuff here, but it just doesn’t feel ready or user friendly.

I don’t understand the updating of the Lockers and re-entering the same password I just provided to open NordLocker initially and it opens Nord locker in a browser after I enter the password again instead of going back to NordLocker itself? Not being able to hold and drag files to move them around is a bummer too. It’s just real simple features NordLocker lacks.

I like Nord, but NordLocker needs some work to get it up to the reputation its name implies.

1: For gods sake, add multiple file and multiple folder upload capability, I’m not uploading 400gbs one file at a time. Until then, NordLocker is quite unusable for me, unfortunately.

2: Thumbnails. It is extremely difficult to entertain the idea of NordLocker being a primary backup solution (which was my plan) when I can’t tell my files apart. It’s 2023, my refrigerator shows thumbnails.

3: I’d like to see more robust preview support. More formats and less restrictions (50mb limit for PDF’s, for example)

4: Here’s where I get absurd and unreasonable: add a night mode, all the cool kids are doing it.

All in all I really want to love NordLocker . NordLocker feels like it’s almost there, it just needs a couple things to be a joy to work with.

I used this app on my iPhone 12 pro max with iOS 17.1 and had no issues but recently I purchased a newer phone running iOS 18.2 and I can't even get NordLocker to launch on it…

I know there are a lot of safety things at play from both sides and I greatly appreciate the work that is trying to be done but NordLocker is most definitely not at the final point that it has the potential of reaching. I hope it gets there very soon!!

Most of NordLocker’s problems are easily forgivable for reasons related to the fact that this app takes security measures that others don’t, which slows it down relative to other cloud services. But one problem with NordLocker that I can’t forgive is that you can’t yet upload or download an entire file folder on this mobile app. If you have a file folder that you want to upload, you have to create a folder in this app with the same name and manually upload every, single, file. The time this takes is painfully tedious. Perhaps this is another security measure taken to prevent people with malicious intent to download too much personal information? But even then you should still be able to at least upload a file folder, and on the desktop app you can already upload and download whole folders, so I don't see why this is a problem and why its not a feature yet. Fingers crossed it will become a feature, if it does I can easily see myself changing from three to five stars.

This is a decent app for the purpose of securing files, however I would love to see previews of images, and also I would love to see a swipe action for mobile app users, it can be a little rough to have to swipe all the way out of the image, find where you were, and then proceed to the next file you were looking for. More so time consuming and that is what is frustrating.

Needing a more user friendly app layout is my only downside here.

I enjoy this app and think the team has done a great job at working on fixing issues as quickly as possible. I would like to ask if NordLocker . can load my pictures directly from my photo library; this way, I do not have to transfer my photos. This way I can delete what I do not need. This would be, in my opinion, a great backup recovery. Thank you, a very satisfied customer.

NordLocker is a great start! But unlike on the web were you can scroll through your pictures it makes it a real pain to show anyone anything. You have to open one picture, hit 2 exit screens, then click the next. I really don’t understand how this was missed in NordLocker version.

Other then that I absolutely love it and use it for everything. But that one complaint alone would be enough to make me reconsider if I didn’t pay upfront for 2 years.

I wrote an earlier review but it would not allow me to add a star rating and after looking the star rating was wrong and it won’t let me change it so I’m writing another. Passwords are annoying but necessary auto lock features are annoying but can save you from a costly error. It does have the ability to bypass the password if you set up an account on a mobile device with biometrics capability.
