Why do the masses get so caught up in outspending one another to achieve a measure of success in a mediocre game?…suckers. I would say I’m disappointed but I saw it coming. MLB Rivals overcomplicates the game in an attempt to camouflage their money grab. The intricacies to this game have little to do with facilitating strategies to best your opponent and everything to do with going around in a dizzying maze that exhaust you into shopping for upgrades. I don’t know if the developers realized how boring they made the game.

In terms of graphics and relative playability, definitely 4.5-5 stars. But then it begins to unravel. The lineups are just plain lacking. Some powerhouse throwback players would be nice for example. Even with what’s offered, how do you determine the difference between A,B and C grades? The stats? Hmmm! May want to recheck those. Overall, the variety of player selection and development is a major disappointment. I also don’t like the random relocation of pitches. If I pitch, I’d like it to end up somewhere near where I aimed, this game (I guess) “glitches” sporadically and sends pitches into a completely different zone at the most inopportune moment . Not cool at all. Also, I noticed the opposing team tends to move faster…a major disadvantage. Finally, I played around a bit with the different camera angles feature. How in the world did they come up with these? Please consider “realistic” depth perception if you ever consider scrapping and redesigning this feature.

I think this game has tons of potential. The rosters are deep, many gameplay options, beautiful graphics. It’s among the best MLB baseball games easy. That said, it needs serious improvements. Player advancing is way too tiered. There’s training, upgrading (which is near impossible past level 5-6), potential, and the original ranking (which I don’t think can be altered at all). Getting a player up a few points takes tons of resources and luck (w upgrading). There are a variety of types of cards- prime, impact, signatures, live- but the prime and impact can be HORRIBLY low. I got an impact and prime for my selected team who are hot trash and won’t even play. The signatures are supposed to be top tier but it’s completely unclear why. The leveling up seems like there’s more potential but it takes even longer so what’s the trade off? Finally, the AI is terrible. The announcers are wrong so often, the simulating is wildly inconsistent, and when I do highlight mode, it will drop me into a big spot such as to pitch when opposition has bases loaded and one out. I’ll get the first out and it will go back to simulating and allow 5 runs. Why did it not keep me in this crucial moment longer? Again, I think there is depth and potential for this game, over the next few months, to really be amazing. But it is seriously flawed atm.

i LOVE mlb 9 innings so i was super excited for rivals to come out but it really is just not very good. they made the game too complex and changed so many key attributes, and it doesn’t help that everything looks the same. trying to differentiate each part or section of the game is honestly more difficult than it should be. also what is going on with the upgrading and training sections?? they’re ridiculous and practically pointless. i’ll be sticking to mlb 9 innings, and if you’re a fan of graphics and only graphics ig you should try out rivals.

It’s a good game and like the bad and graphics pit pitching graphics overall they look really realistic but you need more players and teams because me personally my favorite player is Eli de la Cruz and he’s on the Louisville bats and is when I tried to pick my team I tried to find the Louisville bats and I couldn’t and then I search every team for Eli de la Cruz and could not find him

I hate that people review this game so high. The in game packages are such a rip off and it takes so many resources to level and upgrade players. Player cards are so low rated that it less exciting. Of course there’s no auction house so the only way to get good cards is by spending real money for them. The game content is boring and less entertaining than other baseball games.

The overall mechanics of the game are relatively the same as 9innings. Even the player profiles and the graphics of the players are the same as they walk up to the plate etc. In my opinion, this is just an update with the same engine just to have something out there since it’s been 6 years from when 9 innings came out. The upgrade and level up system is way more confusing than its former. Also, the lagging while at bat is atrocious. And I have very good wifi, and do not lag in any other game. If you want a fun, leisure game to play, here you go. But if you played the former game (MLB 9innings), I’m not sure it’s worth it to start a whole new campaign with new players. One thing I will say though, they incorporated a live pvp where you face off with someone live from the 7th inning on. That’s where the lag will drag you down. Good luck all.

The live player aspect of this game makes no sense. If it goes off of the actual players irl stats why are the best players so low? I had a ohtani card that was a 103 overall and this new update made him a 92 overall. The dudes the best player in the league. Why would he get a decline on his card. I spent hours and hours upgrading the best players that I knew were killing it and they all got completely nerfed. How do I go from a 90 overall team to a 81 overall. Should I not use the live cards at all? Do I have to sit here and spend 100s of dollars on this game to just be able to play it. This has been my favorite game to play for the last 2 months but I’m tired of keep getting downgraded.

It’s good, but it could be better. First of all, the players make zero facial expressions. It’s really boring to watch a team without players that don’t sometimes smile or open their mouths to talk or if it’s an out of the park home run. Secondly, whenever I get a “good” hit, I always end up either hitting a home run or hitting a tiny pop-up to the catcher. Another thing is sometimes the players do things that are really stupid. I hit a triple. The guy went for home and got out! Also, they never make the right plays. If it’s hit towards third when the bases are loaded with two outs, the chuck it to first, when they should just step on the bag.

Good game, play it often as well as enjoy my time playing it. Great graphics and overall very solid. With that being said, if you want to get any half decent players, there’s really zero method. I’ve spend money as well as time thinking the premium scout tickets would give me a shot. I’ve never received a player over 60 overall from the premium scout. I’ve had 25+ tickets for advanced scout at one point and didn’t get not one player over 60. I understand they want you to grind this game out but I play everyday and it just seems to be a money grab if you enjoy the game enough. It would be nice if your chances would increase when you buy tickets and stars.

That is it. Sorry developers. Still a good game. Just feel like I’ve been wasting.

Fun Game, love the graphics, like the new highlight mode. I’ve had to delete and redownload twice because the screen goes black on sign in and can’t actually access the game. The third time this is happening I just won’t open the game until they fix it. Game would get 5 stars if it actually worked, I’ve spent too much money to admit on 9innings and would probably spend some here too, but I can’t even get into the game so 3 stars and no money it is.

Game looks good. Graphics are alright, gameplay is fine. But there are issues. Big issues. First, the ranked system. You don’t get to play it, only sim it. Which would be fine, if the games weren’t constantly rigged against the player. I’ve played 7-8 games in a row against teams with overall ratings 7+ less than my team, and I lost all of them. For a game mode you can’t intervene in, this is unacceptable. Why would I want to sit there and watch my team get no-hit against a 61 overall pitcher? This is a major issue and needs fixing, FAST.

I would love to give this game a much higher rating, however I am running into a bug where when the game first loads it goes white, shows the company logo, then turns black and stays that way so I cant get into my game. Now i cant collect my daily rewards and streaks which is a real shame.

Edit: After reinstalling the game I was able to play again however it is not reasonable to download it every time this happens, my rating is adjusted accordingly.

This game overall is good with the commentary and the graphics, however it seems to be really difficult to hit home runs in this game. Also, I don’t really like that fact that the players are expected to build an 80 overall team to play 162 games, as I couldn’t be able to play a whole regular season with my favorite players on the team since their card isn’t made for building high levels.

First off, this game has AMAZING GRAPHICS ! It feels like I’m playing on a console! I am enjoying the revamped version of 9innings that this is doing, but there’s some things I wish could be updated. RBI battle, instead of giving us 5 daily battles, why can’t it be a limit of 10 active battles, 24 hr limit just as innings. More ways to earn team selective tickets, training tickets, maybe add different uniform options for us. Overall good game. Just want more ways to play rather than just “live match” overall great game ! Padres need more players In the collection !

Definitely Most realistic baseball game I’ve played. Upsides are gameplay, constant updates, and unique events. Downsides are lack of players in the game, there needs to be more historic players for each team, as a Yankee fan they are missing a ton of historical players. My least favorite part about the game is the upgrading, I’ve never played a sports game that was more difficult to upgrade a player especially higher levels is extremely frustrating, time consuming and resource consuming. If they consider fixing the lack of players and the upgrading probabilities this game would be a 10/10

This game is pretty fun. But it is a bit of a grind like many mobile games. I’ve also noticed that playing in “highlight mode” is pretty random when you get opportunities to hit. Sometimes I’ll be tied or down by 1 and it won’t give me a chance to hit. Other times, I’ll be up by several runs and have multiple opportunities to hit.

everytime i play, i love how realistic this game is. I don’t like how you can keep your phone up and not sideways, but i like how in game you can play sideways, so it’s a pro and a con. every time I am in a game, I lag very badly every time but then it goes away. other than that, i’d recommend this game if you like realistic sports games or baseball overall. 👍🏻

I would like if there was realistic game situations, like obstruction or batters interference because sometimes that can happen and it does not get called. Also in league mode, I still have grade C players even though my team for everything else is full of grade S players. Would love if you could change your league lineup. Also, if you could make your own player and they could have different skills and attributes.

For not being a console game, the graphics are amazing. I agree with the upgrade mechanics feedback that it’s unnecessarily confusing here. My biggest point of feedback would be to fix the commentary. Always announce 1 less hr than what the player coming to bat has. Constantly says “he watched that go by” when the batter swung and missed. Wrong balls and strikes announced. Players names mispronounced, example is “JT Realmuto” they announce as “JL Realmuto”. My final point of feedback is I notice the mlb logo is not on the back belt loop of some teams (Yankees for sure and white Sox I noticed too I think). That said, I do love the background ballpark music. I love the graphics. Fix the commentary and the mlb logo on the back belt loop and this would be a 5 star review.

The new 9 innings game is awesome! Between the updates graphics and new style of gameplay, they’ve definitely refreshed the game! Aside from a couple in game errors, the game runs excellent too. I do wish there was a PvP mode since it’s called rivals and hope they add something along those lines soon! Excited to see where this game goes and what new cards they add in the future

Hands down the best game ever for a phone. Hers the cons though. It is very confusing on how everything works, but I’m learning. I made some mistakes and wanted to restart the whole league and start all the way over. However it kept the same team and does not let me do that. Also there are a ton of Packages to upgrade that cost quite a bit. I’d rather pay one fee and have access to all of it and earn other levels by playing. Instead I do not pay for anything and and slowly build from there. I still give it a 5.

I love everything about this game from the new legends and icons getting added. The stats are amazing and gameplay is fantastic. I just wish I was able to have the ability to have a psi mode like in the show. I wish I was able to control where my bat is gonna hit and be able to not rely on covering the whole surface area. I love the game don’t get me wrong just wish that was added to the game. It would make it a lot more challenging and plus you would have two modes to choose from hitting. PSI and Zone hitting. Another thing I wish for this game is being able to have customizable bats that would be sick. Also having a button where you can tell the runners to keep going instead of doing stuff on there own. I see this feature in every other baseball game but this one. Everything else is amazing in this game but really wish you can add these things. I overall think it would bring more players and be able for players to have more skill.

Mispronounced names, some are obvious pronunciations. Sometimes he says the wrong count or says other wrong things. A common mistake he makes is whenever a runner goes to third, no matter what kind of hit it was, he always says “and going to third on the long single is (no name, he just never says one)”. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such bad commentary. It’s always been this bad cause I’ve played off and on since the 2018 game. Game plays well and looks decent, but the commentary is so poor

I love this game actually out of all the other ones this one is way better like 5 times more if they added timing on the pitchers throwing and like bein able to time it so ur not just hopin its puts it were ur throwin it and same goes with battin i wish i could use joystick and control where i hit my bat for the baseball, idk what its called but i would love for those two things to be added and too be able to control where to throw for the bases and run them manually too like it should be a option for manual pitchin,battin,field controllin,baserunning also

First off, this is the best baseball game I’ve ever played on my iphone. The real life athletic movements from homerun trot, pitchers pointing up to a fly ball, middle infields correct double play techniques like flip or power feed, to jumping and snagging a line drive. Pitchers delivery mechanics to swing and misses by the batter at curve ball or slider. The multiple camera angles and the list goes on. I would’ve definitely given 5 stars if we were able to create a player and develop our player up the rankings and become an mlb legend hall of fame player. Commentator should say a bit more comments or bring up some more stats or accolades. Also, more players added to team rosters. For example: the San Francisco Giants. Where’s Will Clark, Barry Bonds, Jeff Kent, Buster Posey, Madison Bumgarner, Tim Lincecum, Pablo Sandoval, Joe Panik, Edgar Renteria, Matt Williams, Hunter Pence, Barry Zito, Sergio Romo, Tim Hudson, Jake Peavy, Javier Lopez, Rob Nen, Marco Scutero. These are all player that should be included for the Giants roster. If not, can I get an explanation why these players aren’t included on your game? At least Buster Posey, Madison Bumgarner, Tim Lincecum, Pablo Sandoval, Will Clark, Hunter Pence, Barry Bonds & Barry Zito. If these players were added then this game is for sure 5 stars. Until then, it’s 4 stars to me and any other SF Giants fans out there playing this game

9 innings had manual fielding to make your own plays and decisions as well as having the option to tag up a base whenever you wanted to. However the auto fielding in this game has caused some issues for me in gameplay. Other than that this game is perfect so please add that to this to rivals.

Overall, I definitely think the gameplay is much improved from 9 Innings! Batting and pitching feels more realistic and the graphics are extremely crisp. The presentation is also much more advanced and polished than the OG game. However, I do think the mechanics outside of gameplay are a lot more confusing than 9 Innings was. I just don’t understand the new upgrade system and think they should bring back the old one since it was much easier to understand. It would also be nice to send over some of my old players to the new game. Plenty of good overall but also plenty of things to improve for the future.

This is a very good game but there is a glitch where after u play a full game and simulate the next game it resets the stats to before you played the full game which reset my Freddie freeman from .310 to .298 which made me mad cause I was 5 for 5

Best mobile baseball game ever. Realistic players and gameplay. Good action.
I would love to see fielding and base running gameplay become optional, although it’s not bad as it is. I’ve never seen a fielding error though, it would be fun to see occasional errors based on the players fielding ratings.
Love that you can actually beat out a ground ball to infield.
Hitting is awesome. Good swing timing and patience lead to good results.
Love the game. Continue to improve and this could be best mobile baseball game ever. Loved the 9Innings of 2011 and 2012, and this is better.

This is really the best baseball game on the mobile platform. Yet it still has very little features missing which isn’t really a big problem, but if they were added, then it would sure make it a much cooler game for people to enjoy. What I would really love in this game are the instant replays. It would sure give people time to record last play in which they thought they were pretty awesome. Another feature I would love are home team fan reactions. For the home team, when their team makes does a strike out or makes a play against the opposing team, the home fans would have a positive reaction. But if the away team does the same thing against the home team, then the home fans will do a negative reaction. Oh yeah and make the home fans loud too. One more feature in which I don’t know if this game even has, are a batting cursor. That would give a pretty good challenge for me in the game. There IS a problem with the fans chanting the away team at the home team ballpark/stadium, for example im playing as the Atlanta Braves at Citizens Bank Park. When im supposed to hear “let’s go Phillies” instead I hear “let’s go Braves” that’s how I knew something was wrong. And that’s pretty but it. Other than all those features, this game is awesome, and I’m not forcing you add these features in which can take some time to do so.

I love everything detail to from graphics to gameplay a couple improvements I think that can be made is commentators more versatile and talk stats as well as being able make defensive substitutions not jus pinch hitting I think it would be cool to add weather as well to complement the graphics far as winds and rain but love the game play everyday for hours one more thing is stadium atmosphere could be a bit better based on plays made scores or situations great job though

Looking through all of the details and I spotted one attention to detail was Johnny Cueto’s pitching style. I love how in his Windup animations, Cueto’s Shimmy is also included, and his quick pitch is also included. You guys went beyond to add those details. I am also here to see if I can give you some ideas to put into the game. I was wondering if you can give the Switch Hitters their batting stances (Ozzie Albies comes to mind), have an option to show the no doubt home run animations in the details for the batters, and give every single batter their unique no doubt home run animation based on their real life counterparts. (Mookie Betts, Xander Bogaerts, Masataka Yoshida, etc). Other than that, I’m having a blast with this game

If you like baseball this is the best game on mobile right now. The fact that the developer did not include ads in this game is worthy of 5 stars alone. But the gameplay itself is top tier as well. You can simulate if you can’t pay attention(afk) gameplay, and you can also choose to just participate in clutch moments. You could also play the full game if you wanted. The pitching/batting is awesome. The guess pitch mechanic for batting is actually super fun. If you have been playing EA Tap you need to download this instead.

This game is definitely the best baseball game I have ever played on a device, baseball 9 and some other games don’t compare to this, but Com2Us, I have some suggestions, for some reason, I have always felt like the commentary is super repetitive and sometimes makes no sense, if you could fix this it could be a five star game. Like what I mean by “no sense,” I hit like 5 home runs in a game and the commentary said that it was the 2nd of the game. So this is an issue I would consider fixing.

Amazing game honestly, I can never stop playing this game. The home runs are crazy. i’ve been playing for so long and this game has blown my mind each time. I play a golf game and remind me of this game I swipe out of that game boom go to this game so good. nothing can make this game better. Honestly, the only thing that could make this game better a little bit more Giants players that’s all I have to say still five stars. Thank you for creating this game. I am never going to delete this again till I’m like 1 billion years old, thank you for this game.

I’ve played all of com2us baseball games and I’ve only played this game for a day and this is much better than any other games that they have come out with the graphics are amazing and the gameplay is so realistic in most games on a 0-2 count if u throw a curve ball in the dirt they swing at it 75% of the time but in this game it’s the other way around only thing I think that needs to improve is the contact like I could swig at a pitch down the middle and half of the time it’s a pop up to the shortstop but other that that it’s a great game and I recommend it to anyone

The game graphics has been amazingly improved from the last mlb 9 innings. This game has huge potential compare to other mobile baseball game. Looking forward to see more exciting game content!!!

Like other reviews here I came over from 9Innings. I have been playing 9Innings for many many years I have my own club I’m over 110 overall but this game here Rivals I am absolutely loving it. It is much better coming with graphics, speed play and has more options with different game play depending on your mood. I’m kind of jumping between playing 9Innings and Rivals because I spent so much time building my team on 9Innings and don’t want to waste it, lol, but so far Rivals is the better choice for sure! Awesome job Com2us!

I love this game! The graphics are awesome! A couple little tweaks would be to make the commentators more energetic on home runs and long base hits as well as changing them to repeat themselves less and say more and different things. Also I would love to see the catcher framing pitches. Also add an option to where you can customize gear/jerseys and switch to different variations of jerseys including city connect jerseys. The last tweak is add timeout option and make the stadium scoreboards functional!

One thing that could be improved,
-there is no skip innings button like mlb 9

9 innings was cool, but this is cooler. It’s definitely harder to understand everything with potential and stuff but the gameplay overshadows that. More on that in a sec. Anyways, the understanding of both potential as well as upgrade, limit break, special training? All confusing for new players I kind of understand it now. But idc the gameplay overshadows taht.

Not only do we get to play this while holding our phone vertical, something I hated about 9 innings, but we also get cooler graphics. And batting/pitching is better too especially in live match. This may change as players cards gst higher leveled but in the pvp feature of the original game it was a guessing game on if pitch was going to be strike or not because you couldn’t trace that. So far in this game it’s become much easier to trace but can still be hard at some times. Still great game 👍👍👍

Overall a fantastic upgrade from 9innings though I wish you guys would let me pick at least one player from my old roster to come to my new team. I’ve played 9innings since it’s launch and so many hundreds of hours of gameplay into that team it’s a very bitter pill to swallow letting it go. Also the upgrade system is wayyyy too complicated and needs to be redesigned but other than that a great game!

Listen I think the game is great and all, but their is one bug I HATE.
Every time I load into a game it freezes and I can’t usually get out for about 4-8 minutes. I don’t know if the bug is apart of the game or it’s just me, but if you can fix it please do! I enjoy the game and please make more updates.

This game is EXACTLY what I was looking for! The improvements to the actual game of baseball (when you are in game) are superb. The game feels much more realistic and the presentation are super polished! The upgrade system could use a bit of simplifying, but this a MAJOR upgrade overall. I love MLB 9 Innings but this is going to replace it for me!

I’ve played mlb nine innings since 2017 and I always thought the game was great. Then this game came out and in my opinion it’s better. I love the mechanic where you can hold your phone vertical and still be able to play the game how it should be played. I’ve been looking for a new baseball game because the ones I’ve had have just gotten to a point where I don’t need to do much, but restarting with his is great for me. I don’t spend money but I don’t need to because they give you a ton of stuff at the beginning to set up your team. Time will tell what happens with this game but I can see it getting better. The graphics and animations are great as well.

I alive this game and gave it 5 stars. Not necessarily because I think I s already the best, but because this game has SOOOO mush potential. The developers clearly worked hard and still are. I want to thank the owners for giving us a good game to play. Developers, if you see this, your game has so much potential so keep doing what hat you are doing:>.

I’ll keep it simple, compared to The 9innings variant of this game, this is MILES ahead graphically and gameplay wise. Still a little difficult to improve player/team overall but by far the best game of this developers franchise. The color commentator is also just slightly off with some calls and he can pronounce the most difficult names but the simplest ones just get reduced to calling them by jersey number which is a little too common. Besides that, zero complaints about this game and the graphics are freaking amazing. This should be an Apple Arcade exclusive. It looks too good to be on the free App Store lol.

After playing for the past few days, I think this is the best overall mobile baseball game out there. Although there are certain confusing player development modes, the team building experience is exceptional. I also wish you were able to control runners and fielders. Overall, a great baseball experience.

I never write these reviews, but man, what a great game. After wasting my money on Tap Sports Baseball for far too long I gave up on mobile baseball games. But this game is just amazing and has restored my faith in mobile baseball games. It has shockingly good graphics, realistic pitching, batting stance, and swing animations, and great singleplayer and multiplayer modes. It is a freemium game, so there is an energy system, (costs "Balls" to play games). However, it's pretty easy to earn good players and so far you've been able to choose what team's player you want from a pack (example: you can set a pack to "Angels", so if I pull a rare card it will most likely be an Angels player). Training is a grind but it's a fun grind. I don't know how this game only has 4.1 stars, I've been having a blast playing it so far.

If you have any complaints about this game you just love misery because for a free game this game has it all of course you can buy upgrades but for me I have earned every single player and with the points I earned I purchased upgrades so this game is the best,I will spend cash to support the game because I’m sure the creators did spend money so is only fair to support for the fun I’m having playing the game

first of all, coming from 9 innings23, the gameplay and graphics are MILES better so awesome job! here are some things that need improvement 1. league stats. this is a simulation game. realistic stats in league mode adds to the experience. unrealistic stats break that immersion. in my league mode there are 15 batters hitting over .380 avg and top HR hitters hitting +80 HRs in a season. even the best starting pitchers have +5.00 ERA. needs to be tweaked. the league stats in 9innings23 were so realistic it’s weird to see you guys fumble it now. 2. speaking of league mode, users want to experience a realistic 162 game season. why are we gated from doing that by having to beat the shortened league 7-8 times which take both time and resources? not to mention the first 162 game league available isn’t recommended until your team has +90 overall? really? you need to bring the option to choose number of games for the season like 9innings23. 3. minor complaint. during the replay of HR, it always cuts away or ends right before showing where the ball landed. we want to see exactly how far the ball went and where it landed, show it to us during replay. went a bit long but it’s only because this game is so good and has potential to be the best mobile baseball game EVER. hope to see these fixes soon.

This game is the smoothest game out there and the best realistic game out in the Apple Store I 100% recommend this game for anyone trying to find a realistic and challenging game to play thank you creators for making such a good game for people to play on mobile👏🏼

Oh my gosh I’m writing this review on the second day this game is released but I have to say they did a fantastic job making this game. MLB nine innings was a really fun game. There was a lot to do in a desire to get better players for your lineup but this game overall it’s just more smooth and there’s so much more you can do in it I personally really like the league mode in this game better than nine innings because it is harder to bat and pitch and it’s more realistic. You did a really good job making this game.

I really enjoy this game even though some of the new ways to train players and things like that may be more confusing, it’s running quite smoothly and it makes it a lot more enjoyable. One thing that annoys me but won’t matter to all is the commentator. It is always having issues with naming the correct players, what the count is, the amount of outs, score, etc. Other than that though, I find this game very fun.
