There seem to be some improvements to this latest iteration of Beat The Streak in MLBPlay vs. the past BTS apps, primarily in appearance. But unfortunately, it seems design may have been prioritized over improving and building on existing functions that the old app had, or even keeping certain functions around at all. For example, I can view my profile, but I don’t see any way to see which players I have picked most often (it’s currently only one game into the season and I’ve only had outcomes for one day of picks total so far, so that information would be admittedly kind of meaningless at the moment, but I want to be able to see a summary of which players I have picked most frequently as the season goes on). Is there a way to view that? It just seems like users should be able to view a summary of their outcomes. I also enjoyed being able to view other players’ profiles and which players they have picked most often but I can’t seem to see how to do that now either. The old app, even with its problems and being glitchy as it was, at least had these functions.

Let’s be real. I’m not going to get a 57 game hitting streak. But MLBPlay was great with the prizes they did get give out in previous versions before the 2022 season whenever you hit a milestone when your streak reached a multiple of 5. Now those small prizes are no more. Now they are giving out avatars and wallpapers to express your baseball identity. This change is terrible as those prizes are a joke compared to what they used to do with access to all MLB games for a day, week or month among other things. I loved those previous prizes. Now these smaller prizes are so useless is almost like this game isn’t worth playing anymore. Very disappointing change MLB! Very disappointing!

Beat The Streak was a fun app a few years ago. Since then it’s gotten progressively worse. I used to have all my friends in a group so I can see their streaks, which was my favorite part of MLBPlay . It made no sense to me to remove a feature that everyone loved.

Now, even picking your player is worse! You can’t filter through players by different stats in the way you could in previous iterations of MLBPlay. IT DOESN’T EVEN SHOW YOU IF A BATTER IS LEFT OR RIGHT HANDED!

Also the leaderboard is broken so you can’t even see who has the highest streak. Not that the leaderboard even matters cause the rest of MLBPlay is so unbearable to use. All together a waste of time and me and my friends will no longer be playing beat the streak next season.

The new app looks nice, but lost all the interesting statistics from Beat the Streak. No longer can you see how many times you’ve picked a player, their success when you picked them, the overall batting average from players you selected, and the percentage of correct picks. All of those are fun parts of Beat the Streak that are no longer there. I hope it’s in the works to bring those back.

Despite the claim that the login bug has been fixed, I continue to be unable to login. In fact, I can’t even get the login prompt to populate. It’s infuriating.
I have really enjoyed playing Beat the Streak over the years, but there’s no way to access it with the new app. This attempt to bring all MLB app functions under one umbrella is an epic fail which is supported by the very poor but accurate ratings.
I am always stunned when apps are “upgraded” but don’t function. Don’t waste your time with MLBPlay. I’m so disappointed that I can’t play beat the streak. It created a greater connection to baseball and it brought a lot of joy. It’s pretty sad that it has been taken away.

Why make a product that takes away so many things people have grown to love. Not being able to select or filter as we previously could. No groups. If you’re trying to bring in more fans and younger fans, why would you get rid of prizes that allow for free viewing of your product??? This seems like a giant fail so far. Visually this looks better, as a whole it’s missing important things that BTS or any of the other MLB games had. Please fix it.

MLBPlay isn’t necessarily terrible, it’s just more complicated and involved than the old bts app used to be. It’s like they are trying to turn MLBPlay into something it’s not. By taking away the prizes and adding these worthless prizes they’ve taken away like half of the incentive to even play this in the first place. Please go back to the old

I’ll start off by saying I’m not a huge MLB fan, but watch the occasional game. But trying to research teams to predict what might happen is surprisingly fun. It’s also a great way to engage with your kids in discussing a sport. Nice work devs!

MLB opted to go pretty with the new app and throw functionality out the window.

Here’s what’s wrong:
- got rid of filtering tool - dumb!
- can’t tell left, right, switch hitter
- can’t tell home or away team
- doesn’t include full roster
- cannot search for a player
- can’t see picks of other users
- so many open modals; hard to navigate

Whoever approved this approach needs to be fired. The old app needed upgrading but this is a complete fail. If you really were into the MLB they blew it for the true fans and opted to cater to people who are passive at best. If someone thinks this poorly functioning app is going to pull more fans to MLB or more gamblers to MGM they are fooling themselves.

I don’t like the new look. The dark background might seem more up to date and modern looking, but I find it unappealing.
I am also struggling to go away from the suggested 4 players to choose my own.
But, alas, I will have to adapt!

Got rid of the best features of the old app. Can’t search by batter performance against the pitcher in the past, which is what made the previous app great in spite of its glitches. Why should I care what the popular picks are? I want to think for myself and search players by what I think is important, not what random people are choosing. Major disappointment, but I guess that’s the MLB for you.

All of the aspects of BTS that we have grown to love over the years are no longer there! The worst part is they have taken away the prizes when you hit a streak that is a multiple of 5. It no longer provides prizes that could allow free access to watch MLB games for a week or a month. The game needs more exposure and BTS used to provide a way for that to happen. Now they ruined it.

I can’t even find beat the streak. It won’t let me load MLBPlay and won’t even let me create a new account. I don’t understand why everyone has to have the new and approved etc etc. I can’t even get on MLBPlay . What a piece of crap. The MLB app beat the streak last year was just fine. If it’s not broke why friggin try to ruin it. Well you ruined it for me. Thx for nothing.

I’m not going to hit 57, no one ever has. I enjoyed the chance to win something at every increment of 5. I personally don’t really care about “winning” a new wallpaper, but a chance at World Series was fun. Miss the filter to help pick players even those seemed to have bugs.

Can’t say I will participate this year on MLBPlay that will only pay out one prize.

They say they updated MLBPlay and fixed the log in issue but still have log in issues! Lol. You can’t put your password in and you came sign out to try again. I shouldn’t have to send out an email to fix the same issue hundreds of others are having. Do better!

Haven’t played BTS in a few years and wanted to get back into it. Noticed it doesn’t have its own app anymore so I checked the reviews for MLBPlay and wow! No more small prizes? No more filters? Disappointing. Won’t be playing again. Listen to your fans mlb. You’re already struggling enough with fan interest…

App finally let me actually do something. I am able to login finally. I don’t like the layout/feel of MLBPlay . I liked the more simpler app before

The new design with all the games in one is awesome, can’t wait for the season to start to build my streak again! Play ball!

It’s not the same as in other years. Great concept if they would have kept the same rewards as you build a streak (MLB TV for a week, 20% off MLB shop, etc). They took all the rewards away and give you avatars to customize your profile. Only one major reward for whoever has the highest streak. Waste of time.

Please bring back the old app. I absolutely hate everything about this new app. Forget about being able to apply filters or see half the stuff you used to. What a bummer. After speaking with others who play BTS they said they feel the same way.

I like the concept of MLBPlay. But it logged me out and said my username/email was incorrect. When I went to request to change my password they said there was no account associated with my email. I called the support line and THEY DELETED MY ACCOUNT per my request which I NEVER asked them to. They didn’t do anything about it so I lost all of my data. They don’t seem to care about the people playing the game. Also I lost my streak because it said the player I picked did not get a hit. But when I look at all of my choices he was 1 for 4. This game is absolutely ridiculous and they need to fix these things! I’m very frustrated

The game is fun but MLBPlay could use some work. Why they did away with groups is beyond me, it’s fun to go up against your friends and see how they’re doing and who they’re picking. My biggest issue is the so-called “ custom” filters for finding players. I could hit the same filters and every time I apply them different players pop up. For example, if I hit A player who hits over 300 and 300 against his opposing pitcher, it will continually show me a player who is 0-5 against that opposing pitcher... don’t think he’s hitting over 300 against that opposing pitcher

I ran a filter, one of the parameters of which was players with .300+ batting averages.

10 of the 15 players MLBPlay showed me on this filter did not have a .300+ batting average. That’s a 67% error rate!

It almost makes me wonder if this flaw in the Custom filter is deliberate, in order to sabotage unwitting contestants from winning the challenge.

So if you decide to get MLBPlay and play the Beat the Streak challenge, I recommend you tread very carefully if you use the Custom filter.

The other PITA Element of MLBPlay is that it takes hours and hours to update your streak. My streak continued at something like 3 o’clock one afternoon and yet MLBPlay didn’t reflect that until after midnight that day. It’s inconceivable why MLBPlay is incapable of updating in real time.

And finally, they got rid of the Group feature. Imagine participating in a March Madness contest but not being able to have all of your buddies in a group to keep track of who’s doing what. Imagine how utterly useless and devoid of fun that would be. But that’s exactly what the brain trust for MLBPlay has done.

I love MLBPlay and am an avid baseball fan, however , about every 2 to 3 weeks when I go in to make my daily pick MLBPlay reads your current session has expired, please login. When I go to login it’s a 50-50 chance that all my previous data will be gone and it’s like I’m starting all over again at day 1. It’s very frustrating!! Has this happened to anyone else out there??

Played Beat the Streak last year and after the initial log-in, never needed to log in again. This year, about twice a week I need to look up my login info before I can play.
Also, I suggest the selection menu should be “my recent” first—before “most popular”, and favorite team should be readily accessible rather than scrolling through an alphabetical list of teams.
Am not a fan of the mulligan option. I believe many people are unclear on the rules for that.

Last year MLBPlay was fantastic. This year it is absolute 💩. It logs you out, no groups with friends and what they replaced groups with, Facebook Leaderboard, doesn’t work. I’ve emailed multiple times to see if they plan to fix this feature but have gotten no responses. Way to royally screw MLBPlay up!

Update: MLB responded and said they were aware of issue and to keep checking for updates to MLBPlay . They haven’t updated MLBPlay since the beginning of the season so they obviously don’t care that the Facebook leaderboard doesn’t work. MLBPlay is now 2 stars, people are unhappy, and MLB doesn’t give a s%#*

FIX MLBPlay!

We had a group of 20 people with a longest streak of 16 over 3 years. We all really had a great time bantering each other. This year we were going to collect a pool to make it more interesting for our lame picking group.

I’m sure all of us checked the leaderboard and cheered on whoever was getting closer to winning. That just added to the humor of how bad our group performed.

Sorry MGM you really blew it. I think we only have a few people from our group actively playing right now. We used you encourage each other to play- now I have no clue who is actually playing.

fun app two years ago....last year the “group” section was removed and needs to come back! this definitely made it less enjoyable.
Also, hoping you add more one day competitions or mini home run contests.
This would be a solid 4.5 star review if the group portion returned and more shirts were given out.

Not sure what the issue was but they resolved it quickly!

This use to be a 5 star app that I enjoyed coming on everyday to see just how terrible my friends and I were at making selections. Made my day. Now that you have taken the groups option away from us it is simply a one star ranking that is just as bad as these apps that force me to watch baby shark with my children and other kids playing with toys. Please bring back the groups option so I don’t have to delete this one and keep some sanity in my life. Thanks in advance.

Love to play. However, MLBPlay crashes CONSTANTLY this year when trying to access Leaderboard from my iphone and ipad.
Also, WHY would you take away an EXTREMELY popular feature-playing in groups? Now, that really makes no sense. Bring back groups!!! And fix Leaderboard bugs!
Oh, and why doesn’t “support” email me back regarding the Leaderboard bug?? Why have a customer support option if you ignore your customers??
Please KEEP the game, but hire better people to run it.

The apps crashes constantly where trying to make picks or look up information. Any time I close MLBPlay out I have to redownload it again to be able to log in. Other wise it sits in the sign in page saying load. You should be able to compete against friends but it’s just a solo contests which isn’t as fun.
Definitely need some helping with the coding of MLBPlay , it has bugs in almost every spot of MLBPlay .

Where are the groups?!!! For many years past, you had the ability to create groups and compete against your friends. With the latest version for the 2019 season, the groups functionality is gone and you essentially play solo. Much less fun, and disappointing.

Last year you were able to get into a group and compete against your friends. This year they took it away.

This year there’s major bugs when you look at the leaderboard and select one of the names and MLBPlay crashes often.

When you look at the leaderboard and select your name on the top MLBPlay crashes every time.

I have emailed them many times and they just told me to download the new version and that doesn’t work I can keep doing it and it doesn’t work on my iPhone. I don’t know why MLB doesn’t get this thing fixed already

Took away the group functionality which now makes it impossible to see how your friends are doing and who has the best streak. On the “contact us” tab it says it won’t be available for 2019 which is ridiculous since it shouldn’t be a difficult thing to it back since it was in previous versions. I would give it 0 stars if I could. So disappointing
