This is a great start! Really like the layout/interface. Easy to build bags and search for discs.
The biggest issue is the lack of disc information. The disc molds need to be updated , A LOT. Quite a few discs don’t have any flight information and there are molds completely missing.
Also - on the flight chart , if two discs overlap it just puts a “+1” but you cannot see which discs are overlapping. Definitely need a way to show which discs are overlapping, since that’s an important part to building a bag- maybe some sort of pop out list when you tap it.
Overall I really like MyDiscGolf and will hold onto it in hopes for future updates
would like to be able to zoom in on the chart. Some discs have similar flight paths but I’d still like to see which discs are projected to land in a certain area. When throwing at a beginner power most discs end up somewhat clumped together. Love that we can make multiple bags and that MyDiscGolf even exists. I always pop MyDiscGolf out when I have a flight question on a hole. Great that I can take pictures of the discs, would like those images to be on the chart as well so I can get a quick visual of what disc will be where.
I’ve used MyDiscGolf since 2022 and have loved it. I updated MyDiscGolf to version 2.0 and my discs were still there. I signed up for an account after not having one for a long time and synchronization keeps failing and my disc backup file is 262 bytes…I feel like that’s way too small and they might be gone. Hopefully an update can resolve this and I’m able to get my discs back.
Great app overall, especially for being free! I like how you can filter by disc type and stability, but it would also be nice to be able to filter by individual flight numbers when using the explorer. Could be very useful in finding the perfect discs. Database seems pretty comprehensive, but I did find it was missing one my discs when building my bag (Axiom Paradox - not an uncommon disc). I can edit to add the flight numbers, which does add it to the Matrix in the bag, but doesn’t add the flight chart. Is there a way to request missing info/discs be added to the database? Other than that, it seems like a really well thought out app and is very useful.
So many of discs that I currently have in my bag are wrong on MyDiscGolf. They say the Axiom Envy is a 2 speed?? No it’s a 3 speed. My Fireball is an 11 speed?? No, it’s a 9 speed. My Resistor and Servo are 7 speeds?? No… they are both 6.5 speeds. That makes quiet a difference when you’re trying to get a good idea of balance in your bag. It’s a cool app for sure but it definitely needs some work. I also have a Terra in my bag and it’s not even in the directory of discs lol.
I've used MyDiscGolf for about a year now and I've loved it!! Unfortunately with the recent update that requires an account I haven't been able to log in or create an account. Apparently my email is already registered somehow and the reset password functionality doesn't seem to work. I have already checked and it wasn't sent to spam. I just never received a password reset email.
I'll update this review as soon as the reset password functionality works!
Great app for keeping track of your discs. It has some minor drawbacks and need for improvement: Some discs in the table are classified differently. For example, the Aviar is listed as a “PUTT_AND_APPROACH” while the Nova is listed as “Putt & APPROACH”.
It needs the ability to add discs not listed in the master table.
Needs the ability to sync across devices.
Easy to use app, wholeheartedly happy with the disc input and customization. The matrix is great and solid flight path chart is what I most often used feature, particularly on the wishlist. One thing I would love to see is an option to switch it to meters, it’s just a bit annoying to run calculations in my head over and over.
I recommend using MyDiscGolf over UDisc for cataloging your collection. Less info to type with each disc entry because MyDiscGolf brings it in with flight numbers and many other details. MyDiscGolf also allows you to tag discs with certain colors/symbols to categorize them together. Only a few complaints that I’ve messaged the creator with regarding customization and adding a disc count.
First of all, MyDiscGolf is already very nice, and I think it has the potential to be an app everyone that plays disc golf uses. Already I am loving the features in MyDiscGolf , seeing the matrix and chart for flight paths it’s wonderful. As a beginner it helps me when looking to buy discs.
As I said, it does need some improvement, but I understand it is a new app. The biggest thing I noticed so far is that in the chart, it is hard to tell what flight paths are from what if you have to many discs because the words do not line up very well.
Very excited to see what MyDiscGolf becomes!
I am so thankful for how MyDiscGolf helped me get the right disc for the right throw at my arm speed.
Since the latest iOS updated though it always shows an error message whenever I try to open it (even after uninstalling and reinstalling). I really hope it gets worked out, but appreciate all the work you have put in!
MyDiscGolf has some really cool features that are executed well. It is a bummer that the disc database is so small, however. The whole point of MyDiscGolf is to have a well organized list of one’s discs. If you can’t find your disc in the database, you just got get to add it to MyDiscGolf . And it’s not obscure discs that are missing either: the only Discraft Heart available in the database is a limited addition one from 2014 (and you can’t change the name of a disc). I also couldn’t find the Prodigy P Model S, but they had the US and OS version….
I like MyDiscGolf to help organize my discs. I play multiple courses so it’s great to have an app where I can essentially make “load outs” for each course.
To the devs, I think the charting aspect of MyDiscGolf is what sets it apart. It would be really helpful and cool if there was an option to show the charts but single out a disc on a particular line.
For instance, I have a disc I only throw forehand for distance. But on the chart it shows the backhand line by default. If there was some way to add a toggle for the chart so that certain discs would appear as forehand only discs I think that would help the user visualize their bag better.
Works great, exactly what I was looking for to see flight profiles for all my discs
Two suggestions I would like:
- To be able to filter the flight chart for discs in my bag. Rather than show all of them, I can select the ones I want to see, or the types of discs I want to see (e.g. fairway drivers only)
- to be able to mark discs in the explore tab, like a Wantlist, so I can find them later.
I’ve had MyDiscGolf for about 2 years and it’s great for finding new discs and building bags, and also organization of current discs. So so nice to snap a pic of the disc, add weight, plastic type, other info about each disc and keep a catalog of what you have. My favorite part is using the explore tab to filter out discs by stability to narrow down some new discs I might want to try and fill a spot in my bag. Overall love MyDiscGolf and highly recommend it!
update: Developer response was quick and in record time! i downloaded the patch from TestFlight and everything was fixed and back to normal. thank you for your quick response!
just another reason MyDiscGolf is the perfect companion for every frolfer!
this was the best app for cataloging discs, however with the new 2.0 update (which i have been very excited about), i hit the “Backup Now!” button and nothing happens, and im unable to proceed. im worried ill have to re-catalog my ~200 discs, so im hoping they fix this bug soon.
other than now not being able to use MyDiscGolf , if it works, this and Udisc are the only disc golf apps you need.
Great way to store all your discs with pictures in one location and see where your bag is missing. Reminds me of my disc bag on the internet, but now in app form. Our one suggestion is to make it so that the condition option makes the disc flippier as it goes down. This would capture the true flight of each disc. Love it so far!
Awesome app! I really like how it had the flight profiles for pretty much every disk I have, gives an awesome reference point for when I’m out o the course! And it’s awesome how you can switch it for how you throw! Only recommendation I have is I wish I could zoom in on the flight profiles from my bag view, with so many disks it makes it hard to pick out which disk to choose, I know I. Can go to the individual disk, but would be cool to do it in one spot. Thanks for MyDiscGolf !
For a long time, I was just throwing discs I liked and never knew about how to build a bag. Once I became aware of it, I was still left unsure how I could determine what was missing or needed in my bag. Using MyDiscGolf has been so awesome!! I build my bag to ensure every shot is taken care of and now, no more guessing which disc to throw! I love that it can be adjusted by arm speed to show an approximation of how the discs will fly (currently only subjective slide adjustment bar). I love that I can log my all my discs and create different bags. Thank you for the great app! 🙏🏻 Highly recommend for any disc golfer, serious or casual! 😊
Really enjoying using MyDiscGolf. I was previously trying to track this info on a spreadsheet and this is light years ahead of that. Love the little adds like arm speed adjusting flight paths - and the ability to easily create and adjust bags. Also gave the developer feedback on their Reddit forum and they incorporated those changes into the latest version. Positive all around - worth downloading and using.
