YMCA360 is for people that want on line workouts. That is fine, but it is no longer useful to the rest of the many members that actually visit their Y. You can only find and reserve classes in “your Y” and not in another Y that is also close to your residence.
Please fix this. We are members of the Y because we enjoy the friendships and personal instructors. This new app makes that difficult.
It would be nice if there was a chromcast option. I can’t do work out videos from my small phone. It would make sense to have tv streaming option.
I can no longer sync my FitBit, make customized exercise plans with my fave weight machines (that also kept track of the amount of weight, reps, etc that I could check off as I finished), fitness levels (gold, platinum, diamond, wood, etc), no customized challenges (like 5 workouts a week, 120 minutes a week, etc). Only challenges are the big ones (100 miles/1000 miles). Those are great for athletes, but for a 50 year old Grammy trying to lose weight and become more healthy, those challenges were goals I could strive to reach and kept me motivated. The entire new app is a bust for my family.
Disappointing and confusing — in the old app I could create custom workouts, track what weights I was using, see my workout history, and it even showed calories burned and overall health progress automatically. All of that is gone, and it’s now basically a workout video streaming service app. Why remove all the great features for people who actually exercise at the Y? Doesn’t make sense.
YMCA360 does not do one of the most basic things that it should do. There is no easy way to find out what days and times a particular class is offered. I should be able to click on a certain class and find out that it’s on Monday and Wednesday at 5:00 and Saturday at 10:00. The only way to find this information is by scrolling through the entire schedule for the entire week. It’s very cumbersome and takes forever. Especially if schedules change from week to week due to instructor availability. Please add this function to YMCA360. It would be a huge upgrade.
Livestream worked a few times, earlier this year, then I kept getting error windows popping up saying class wasn’t scheduled to start, it started 0 seconds ago, 5 seconds ago, 2 minutes ago. The first time I got the error i was 5 mins late getting on so I thought okay so it doesn’t work if I don’t get on right at the beginning. But no, even when I would be ready to start right on time it still said it wasn’t scheduled to start even though it was! Sometimes I thought maybe they were just starting the feed late, but no amount of time changed the error. I turned off and on my phone multiple times and even deleted and redownloaded YMCA360 a few times. Then it just would blink when I hit play then nothing. Then that error came back again. Also I asked multiple people at the y about it and no one could help me or tell me how to get help on the issue. I couldn’t find any way online to get to customer support for YMCA360 either!
Then I discovered I could add classes to my calendar and use the link on my calendar to get the live class on my browser, then it worked! But I hadn’t been using live play the last few months because I was trying out other yoga apps….
I came back to YMCA360 this last week to do some live classes and now it keeps telling me class can’t be added to your calendar, with no explanation! And there’s no updates…..I see it says there was a bug fix two months ago to issues with live play. Well I think that broke it! I just wish YMCA360 would work, I love being able to do live classes from home when I just can’t get to a class at the ymca in person (different reasons at times). Also at least give us new on demand classes if live doesn’t work! The gentle yoga on demand only has 11 classes, I did all of them months ago and there’s no new ones still! Please work on your app!
I downloaded the new app, realized that the main thing I go to YMCA360 to do is check different locations’ hours - as its variable for each middle TN location individually - and to get impromptu closure notifications due to weather.
The new app does not make this information easily accessible, and google maps and individual Y websites are not updated with the same operational information.
I highly recommend reviewing functionality that was previously accessible through the old app, and emulating those functionalities in the new app to have it more widely received by its potential users.
In the end, if YMCA360 isn’t used or liked, then what purpose is it serving?
The challenge for example for 100 mile swim adds up all miles no matter what activity you are doing, when it should only add up miles for swimming activity. There is no way to delete a manual tracking of an activity that was mistakenly entered. Schedules do not exist for the pool, when classes are scheduled. This version needs a lot of help. Useless unless you use it for checkin only.
My Y promoted this to me. I downloaded and proceeded to authenticate. After approximately 1,000,000 verification codes sent to my email, every single time it fails to authenticate me.
YMCA360 needs a remake. It is hard/difficult to input a profile. The schedule are out of date/sync. Why put an incomplete app out to the consumer that does not work?
There’s no way to edit anything. I downloaded it solely to use it to check in. That option is not available. There’s no other reason to clutter my phone with this useless app. Deleting it.
Terrible app. The old Ymca of greater Austin app was so so much better. It was easy to use and really user friendly. This thing is a piece of junk. It’s very difficult to navigate. Everyone in my hitt class said the same thing as well.
It doesn’t show any classes held at the center on the calendar. It doesn’t sync with the center at all. It has videos and a log you manually enter:
Type: Running, Badminton, Yoga, etc..
Duration: Enter time
Distance: Enter distance if applicable.
Honestly, my notes app can do this. I’m not sure about other YMCA’s but mine doesn't like you on your phone in the gym & I have no equipment at home, so it’s pointless really.
Maybe others will be able to find use in the videos because that’s all it has going for it.
App is full of online classes or big videos and hype.
All I really want to know are hours of the local Y’s child watch or special occasion or event hours or if one part of the gym is closed or open. I’d like to know more about the preschool or the sports programs. I’d like to know who to contact for a section of the Y without digging through.
Soooo much on YMCA360 , so little helpful information for the actual location I’m paying to be a part of. Really kind of useless unless you WANT to take streaming classes at home, but then why would I pay to go to the gym?
I have used the previous Ymca app and loved the function where you could pull the event over into your personal calendar. This helped me stay accountable and block time in my schedule. This is a simple function, and should be part of all exercise facility apps!
Takes too long to launch lots of buffering. Must sign in each tome with access code email.
No matter what I do, YMCA360 will not load. I have the newest IOS on iPhone 15. I click on YMCA360 and it immediately shuts off. Cannot get it to open at all. Needs serious work.
Why is it so difficult to find the hours of operation? I just need to know when you open/close, when childcare is available, etc.
While the new app is sleeker, I prefer the functions in the old one. The old one tracked my visits, had “fitness levels” based on my visits/health stats, had the option to create custom workout plans, ability to earn points towards rewards/swag, and included local challenges I really liked participating in. Aesthetics is the only improvement on this version - hope they add the other features back!
Biggest reason I use YMCA360 is for ease of access when checking in. It would be much more efficient if I could add my barcode for check in to the Apple wallet. Please add this feature - which was available in the old app.
Love the on demand classes but there is no way to track history or list favorites. A class I checked out for less then 60 seconds has stayed in my recently watched while others have dropped out. Ugh.
Hard to search for programs of a certain type makes it time consuming to get started.
Also YMCA360 could do with support for Screen casting with Chromecast etc so that on doesn’t have to stare into a tiny phone screen while working out.
Would be awesome if it included check-in history, and a weekly/monthly/yearly total of check-ins. I like to see how often I’m going, and sometimes how long I’ve been there if I forget when I showed up, so it would be nice to see “Checked in on 10/10 at 2PM” or that kind of information.
Another reviewer mentioned it would also be nice to have the facility hours listed on the My Y page, and I agree.
I also would prefer if the schedules and registration could be done in-app rather than sending you to the webpage in Safari.
Just some suggestions! Otherwise, I don’t really use YMCA360 at all, since I always have my keycard on me.
Sometimes the schedules for exercise classes won’t fully load for the day you are viewing and you have to click on another day and click back several times to view the entire days schedule. It also doesn’t save any filters you set when viewing exercise schedules so you have to reset them every time, very annoying. Otherwise YMCA360 is fine.
Latest iOS 17.1.1 app no longer adds to iCal. Wish instructors could message just class participants, not an entire Y message (running late, moved class to x location, etc). Need home Y hours, including child watch. Need to have barcode pull up automatically when opening app.
I’d be more likely to participate in something if you didn’t call it a boomer class 🤦♀️
I think YMCA360 has a lot of potential. It is relatively new and a part of Y memberships. As it grows and expands, hopefully they will
get more programming. I think it is a great option for those at home that can’t get to the Y on a certain day.
I’m just getting started using YMCA360 . I’ve done a couple of videos to exercise with and I don’t understand why there isn’t a full screen option. I used my iPad and it still is only an 1 1/2” by 3” video. Too small to see while exercising with it. I love the content though.
YMCA360 is great, and if they added iwatch functionality I would give it 5/5. The Yclt app had this and it was amazing! Never had to bring my phone in and could check in with a tap of my wrist. Hope they get this functionality added soon! Hopefully seeing another Y app have this will make it easy to add🤞
I think YMCA360 is great for anyone that can’t get to the gym. I just wish it was compatible with my iPhone so I could keep track of my workouts. Maybe someday soon! Keep working on it. It’s going to be great!
It’s a great modern app. I would like to be able to see the group classes for all the Ys in my area because I like to go to others for classes I like. It seems to only show the one Y information.
A great app with an intuitive UI, however, when watching a video there is no option to exit the video. You can control playback speed, volume, etc, but there is no way to exit. You must close YMCA360 and re-open. This seems like a small bug that will hopefully be fixed.
A agree with a previous comment. Check in history and ability to link with fitness app
Love that YMCA360 has on-demand and Live stream videos for all things health and wellness for the entire family. And it just got even better with the ability to track my workouts, barcode checkin, earn points and get rewards through my local Y. I can even check out the classes that I am interested in joining in person. Finally getting everything in one place for a more complete Y experience.
YMCA360 works well and tells me in advance when classes are, the hours of my selected YMCA, and other important online information. I never used the old app so I don’t have much to compare it against but this one works well for the average user. I know people on here complain about not being able to sync it with other fitness apps, but y'all got like 20 of those apps so it’s not important to have it here. Just be grateful YMCA360 works and, others have complained about bugs but I haven’t encountered any (yet).
My family and I love all the engagement YMCA360 has for us! Fun sing-alongs for my kid, fitness classes I’m doing at home, and easy check-ins when we go to our Y. Were also competitive with our points and tracked workouts.
