Bring back audio phone recordings

The whole reason I downloaded SessionStudio was I thought I could save phone ideas here but SessionStudio makes zero sense .. and I have to use discord I don’t want to use discord

Great potential, but missing Auddly’s features

I’ve been using SessionStudio since it was previously known as Auddly. Though it is still a useful app and website, I hope that the developers will bring back some of the features from Auddly that really made this a unique and useful tool for collaborating with other musicians. There are some sorely missed features and some current issues that I hope will be addressed in the near future.

Things I miss from the Auddly app are:

1: Real time waveform and markers on playback.
2: “Private notes” section in the lyric window.
3: The ability to set an expire date when sharing audio files.
4: Chronological filing of audio files reflected the same on desktop.

1: The ability to place markers in exact locations on the waveform was a great feature when collaborating with producers and mix engineers to mark exact points of interest in the track. The scroll feature currently in place works nicely but you can’t easily find a section of a song for review based on looking at the waveform (a breakdown, for e.g.) It’s clumsy if you’re trying to return to the beginning of the song quickly as well. Would be nice to add back the “return” button which most players have.

2: The “private notes” section was genius for collaborating on lyrics! Really miss this feature! It allowed for having a convenient scratch pad for brainstorming lyrics until you were ready to copy and paste them to commit them in the main lyric section while in a writing session.

3: It was really helpful to be able set an expiration date on shared files. This was a convenient feature when you wanted to temporarily share a file with someone.

4: One of the main issues I’m currently experiencing with the change over to Session is that all the audio files that were transferred over in each “Song” are now out of chronological order on the desktop. When adding a new file to the song, there’s no rhyme or reason to the order that audio files show up in the list. They seem to be ok on SessionStudio but not on the desktop website. Also if you have a longer file name, you can’t read the full name making it difficult to find versions. Not being able to read longer file names and have them in chronological order on the desktop version is very problematic when collaborating. You CAN label a file as “latest version” which is helpful, but not being able to communicate to collaborators clearly about a certain mix version etc., is very frustrating.

This platform/App has so much awesome potential! The seamless operation between App and Desktop is something Auddly had going for it. I really hope that some of these features are just late to the transition. If not, I may be looking for a new app for collaborating and sharing musical ideas.

Missing Auddly features

SessionStudio is supposed to replace the sessions ID app which replaced the auddly app before that. The previous 2 apps and the website had features that catered to songwriting like a memo recorder and an ideas section. They were very useful for generating and keeping ideas. These features are gone now. I want them back. I hate having to keep my songwriting components separated in a fragmented multi-app workflow. One of the things that drew me to auddly was the all-in-one-place workflow solution from the beginning of an idea to managing splits and credits. If these are still coming in the new app, great! But maybe you shouldn’t have transitioned until they were in place. If they are not coming than I will be looking for another solution. I have loved auddly from the start and I want to like sessions studio. But this iteration is definitely a step backwards.

Search

Still getting used to this new app. One very important feature in any data base app should be a search feature to filter out projects. At the moment you have to scroll to find a project. Cant imagine people with a lot of projects.

Otherwise still trying to figure it out and get used to the changes.

Pretty Cool!

Pretty cool and useful app! Something I would use for collaborators. My only issue was SessionStudio has crashed multiple times when opening it which can be annoying but other than that, it’s one I would recommend for my musician friends

Good Start

We want to use this at out studio. People need to see you putting out regular updates. Looking forward to bug fixes and greater adoption.

Very useful app!

So far everything it’s great, but how exactly do I get to “details” in the phone app?

I respect this

Finally somebody trying to help the problems of the music industry
