Studio Island: Song Creator Reviews

I recently downloaded studio island and I immediately got creative and I made a song. I have to say though, the song creating process is a little confusing. StudioIsland doesn’t tell you exactly what to do. For example, I wanted to put in a few notes from the piano and I recorded something but it didn’t transfer to the actual song. Same with the sound effects. Also, while picking instruments and such, I found it hard to remember what I already put Down and that made the process not as fun. After the song building is finished, you get a very satisfying concert with the band you made playing your song. However, if you add more than one musician in a instrument category, you have to manually switch them. I put two so they could play at the same time. I eventually learned that it is easier to just have one animal per instrument. You can also look around the island to see other bands. Doing that gave me more ideas for my songs. This game is very fun when you get past the challenges that I had!!! I would definitely use StudioIsland again!!!

As a Clinical Psychologist and Adjunct Professor at Columbia University, I found StudioIsland to be a very creative and engaging way to introduce kids to the world of music. Not only is it fun and entertaining, but it will inspire your children to want to learn to play an instrument, write songs, and become more involved in the world of music. Research has shown a correlation between strong music skills and strong math skills. Therefore, not only is this a fun app which your kids will spend hours playing on, but it is also educational, and can enhance cognitive flexibility. I would highly recommend it!

StudioIsland is great for helping kids learn about music and the music production process. The worlds and characters included in the software are massive, yet it’s still really ease to use right away - in less than two minutes we made a cool song which we sang over, and then we watched it being performed by the band. For those parents with kids who are interested in making music, this is StudioIsland to have!

I showed StudioIsland to my 7 year old daughter and she was totally engrossed in it! Literally would not put it down. StudioIsland was so intuitive to use and literally every song she made sounded amazing. The ability to explore different instruments and so many types of music is awesome. And you don’t have to know anything about editing music to make a great song. Love StudioIsland!

Great app! Let’s you isolate instruments as well as hear them in any combination to make a cool song. A very intuitive way to teach children music software, editing, and song production. It’s like the step before pro tools or garage band. With cute characters and lots of humor. And I appreciate the instrument tutorials. I was looking for something like this for my son! Will definitely recommend to others.

There are so many different instruments to explore, such a fun way for you and your little one to learn about music of all genres.

Such a fantastic way to help introduce children to the world of music! StudioIsland is very well-designed, with engaging animal characters, appealing graphics, giiggle-inducing humor, and is very intuitive and easy to use. Users can learn about various instruments (love the bits about the French horn and bagpipes), music styles (jazz, country, rock, even New Age), as well as create their own music. Absolutely love it and highly recommend it.

Kids of all ages in our family love StudioIsland- this Dad included! It’s so cool. Very fun and engaging. The great thing is it’s silly and educational and, best of all, it sounds great also! My two boys LOVE playing StudioIsland! The characters are so much fun and it is an incredible way to learn to make music. The games keeps my kids engaged and learning for a long time. My background is in Elementary Education and as a past Elementary School Teacher I would highly recommend this to to anyone with young kids!

My seven-year-old cousin and my 12-year-old son had a great time on StudioIsland! This is a mix of fun and a great education on how to mix instruments, be creative with combinations and explore many ways of making music. There’s really a lot of levels and ways to engage within StudioIsland (even to do voice recordings) and I highly recommend for various ages!

Very nice game for kids to learn about instruments 🎷🎺🎻🥁🎸 while having fun It’s a great idea to be able to show your song live on a stage. This is a very educating game and is very easy to get the concept and have fun while learning too. I’m sure all kids would enjoy seeing their songs on stage and dragging characters to create the songs. This game is fantastic.😋🤓😛😎

This game is loaded with things to explore. The illustrations are really nice and there are so many options while in the studio. There is also a lot to learn so it keeps kids very engaged. A truly fun and interactive game that lets kids learn at the same time!! And the music and characters are so fun!

A seemingly endless amount of winning characters navigate child users (and kids-at-heart adults) through the creation of unique music compositions - while seamlessly introducing types of music/instruments, and ways to blend cool sounds in a fun and experimental fashion. This is an amazing primer for the musical citizens of tomorrow who will combine tangible instruments with cutting edge technology to create super cool music.

My son and I had a lot of fun going down the virtual hall of instruments, hearing the different sounds the instruments made and learning about them. What I liked most was the sense of exploration the game gave us. We could wander at our leisure, select the instruments and characters we wanted: it’s a little like being given free reign to explore a mansion of instruments!

I have to say I was blown away by StudioIsland. My five year old son creates and arranges his own music and loves it. He now wants to take music lessons. I never thought an app could make a child want to learn to play an instrument. Thank you so much for this. It is the only thing I let him play on my phone. :)

Im just a little older than 4, even than 44, and I wish I had had a tool this fun and rich before! Garage band is hard as a starter tool for most of us, and this brings you and your favorite kids into the swing of producing music. They/ YOU will learn about instruments, rhythm and so many other aspects of music creation!! Go for it!! Enjoy!!!

I have two young girls (ages 8 & 9) and both of them loved StudioIsland! They loved experimenting with the different instruments and making their own music. The graphics and ‘characters’ are colorful and fun. It’s a great way to introduce your kids to music and to get them to engage on their own. This one has gone into our regular app rotation!

As a mental health therapist who works with children StudioIsland is so creative and fun. It’s easy to use and can help kids build a sense of mastery by creating music of their own.
