UPDATE BELOW
I saw people talking about a waitlist and thought it was on a per-school basis. No… it’s literally a waitlist just to use nocap at all. It shows who’s around you in line and they’re all listed as different schools. You have to share nocap to a certain number of friends in order to “jump” in line and get “early access”. I can’t imagine how implementing an immediate barrier to using nocap is a selling point. I’m not sending all my friends clickbait when I’m not entirely sure what this is myself. Honestly this just seems like a data grab. Why am I required to allow access to voice recognition first thing in order to use nocap ? Based on how clunkily this appears to be designed so far, I don’t have high hopes.
UPDATE: it’s been over a month since I downloaded nocap and I’m STILL on the waitlist (and therefore totally unable to use nocap ), but even worse, there are only a couple thousand people “behind me” in line. That’s IT. I think the reason they are restricting entry is because there just aren’t enough users to support the platform, yet they want you to think the exact opposite. I would guess there are 10k users total on nocap at absolute BEST so the odds of having an interesting community at any given school seems pretty low to me. Deleted.
