Rotoworld Fantasy Player News Reviews

RotoWorld was been my favorite & most commonly used app for MLB player news & injury updates since its inception. But this new NBC Edge Sports is a joke. 1) the written font text content is way too small and a strain to read so please increase the font size a bit. 2) the font color is way too light (light grey?) and with a white background it makes it very difficult to read. Please use a black or darker colored font.
3) the favorites feature has serious issues. It either takes forever to load or doesn’t load and freezes the screen and then unable to do anything. I really don’t know what’s going with app developers these days. There was nothing wrong with the older version and Rotoworld’s app. I got very excited when I saw NBC was behind this new app because I ASSuMEd it’d be awesome. Nope. The whole idea of apps is to be able to find or get what you’re looking for faster. But not only does RotoworldFantasyPlayerNews require more time to load than actually going to the website, it’s very difficult to read due to the tiny font size. Congratulations NBC app tech team - you are the very first to produce an app that’s so bad, I have a better user experience by simply going to the website with a safari browser - which defeats the entire purpose of RotoworldFantasyPlayerNews. Please reconsider your interface & display.

Things I’d most like to see in v2:

-ability to click directly on the player name and see all the blurbs for that player aggregated-without having to search them. Could potentially also include stats like on the website
-dark mode!
-smarter search. Right now it seems to be purely alphabetical rather than prioritizing the bigger names
-ability to favorite an entire team to get alerts on all players on team
-ability to filter on injuries and transactions specifically like on mobile web
-would be nice to be able to unfilter off any specific sport to see the biggest headlines across all the sports universe, just like you show on mobile web
-Should show player headshots on main feed too!
-Please show the source tags. For example- per Adam schefter (Twitter) . Being able to click them and open an in-app browser on top would be a nice add
-slightly bigger or bolder text for the blurb details
-auto hide some of the top-bar as we scroll for more screen real-estate
-when fetching more blurbs, show load-spinner at bottom rather than overlaid on top of entire feed which locks up being able to read the news

I think I check RotoworldFantasyPlayerNews for NFL player updates at least 50 times per day. It really helps me get the latest news & get players off the waiver wire before my competitors once I hear about players being out.

Love this player profile app. Keeps me up to date on what’s happening with offensive players and helps me know who to target or drop from my team. The only thing is adding more player updates. I know there are more than 5-10 player updates on certain days. It would be nice to hear what local beat writers are saying about players and prospects. Rotoworld MSN used to have an app that gave tons of great insight on players. RotoworldFantasyPlayerNews is great just wish they gave more updates.

RotoworldFantasyPlayerNews is great for fantasy sports and I use this and their website every year because of it. However, I rate RotoworldFantasyPlayerNews only 4/5 because the push notifications for your player news do not work, and you only get notifications about their livestreams and podcasts. If the notifications worked correctly, it would have 5 stars.

Thai is great for up to the minute updates. RotoworldFantasyPlayerNews is beyond helpful in picking up waiver wire players for your fantasy team. I usually get player updates way before others in my league!

RotoworldFantasyPlayerNews is generally pretty good: easy to use and nicely designed. The info is somewhat useful but the embarrassing amount of mistakes (saying someone is left-handed when he’s not or plays for the wrong team or faced the wrong team...) is amateurish.

UPDATED REVIEW: the developer responded to my review that updates have fixed technical issues. That confirms my criticism about sloppiness and inattention to details.

Too many things to list, and admittedly some of my issues have nothing to do with the mobile app itself. But regarding RotoworldFantasyPlayerNews , the comically small and stupidly light font on the player update text is enough to warrant a 2 star rating. How can something so poorly conceived make it into production? Please just make the text easier to read. Is that too much to ask?

Feedback - Please change the main player note font color to black or something that is easier to read. The light gray is hard to see.

This is the spiritual successor to the Rotoworld app. Rotoworld became NBC Sports, which then closed its app and went website only, and is now back with this “Edge” app.

It’s fine, but it STILL is not as good as what Rotoworld had over a decade ago. Seriously, just going back to the simple interface of the old app would be better than everything NBC has tried since buying out Rotoworld.

Keeps me updated all day long! Essential for making last minute line up changes in my fantasy leagues!

There are a lot of apps like this, but the ability to filter information on RotoworldFantasyPlayerNews is second to none. If you could increase the size of the text in RotoworldFantasyPlayerNews , this would be five stars.

Finally we have something that is basically Rotoworld. Not sure why they got rid of its to begin with. Keep up the good work!

For anyone who misses the Rotoworld app, this is a great replacement. Being able to filter by position in a particular sport is a nice feature.

I stopped receiving notifications about my favorite players. I uninstalled/reinstalled RotoworldFantasyPlayerNews and it still doesn’t work but their marketing notifications work just fine.

Also it should give me a login so I don’t have to manually check all my players every time I reinstall RotoworldFantasyPlayerNews .

Annoying lingering notification even after clicking from Notification Center

After working to select all my favorites, the news feed filter does not work for my favorites. Also the position filter does not work to filter the news. Come on app developers these are simple things you should have caught before releasing RotoworldFantasyPlayerNews .

Really good app but, with one big flaw. Letter font is way too small. You need a magnifying glass to be able to read the content.
Fix that and it’s a home run.

Dark mode came out 2 years ago and RotoworldFantasyPlayerNews doesn’t have dark mode support

Thought that was the whole point? And yes they’re turned on.
