Like the concept but…

SugarfreeQuitSugarAddiction sends you way too many notifications. It gives me a notification every hour throughout the whole night which is triggering. Just deleted it.

Doesn’t accurately report progress

I find SugarfreeQuitSugarAddiction not motivational at all because even when I enter “no” for “Did you manage to stay sugar-free today?” It counts that day as a sugar-free day and congratulates me for a long run streak that I don’t have. The quotes and suggestions are nice, but not as helpful as accurate run streak information would be for me.
I tried to cancel on the last day of the trial period and was still charged.

No Emotional Support

Lots of info on what sugar-free eating is, but no help on the psychology driving the addiction. For instance, it says “Know your emotional triggers”, but offers no help with exploring the underlying reasons for a trigger or what to do about it. Or “instead of a sugary snack, eat some nuts”, but no guideline on how to menu plan, grocery shop, prep snacks and prepare meals to change eating habits. Neither are there tips for coping with outside stressors, developing positive self-talk, or taking time for a mental body scan or calming meditation. It is also annoying to see ads within SugarfreeQuitSugarAddiction even after paying for it. I thought it was little more than an enhanced calorie counter. ☹️

Bugs affecting main feature - can’t add foods

Whenever I tap on the “search” bar to add a food, it takes me back to the main screen. If I try to add a food manually and put my cursor on “food name” or anywhere else in the create food screen, it also bugs out and takes me back to the Home Screen.

So a major feature of your app is failing… might wanna fix that.

Wanted to like it

The database for adding foods and recording side effects is extremely limited. You can’t add different side effects, either. I could only get the scanner to work one time.

Can’t add food to food log

I just purchased SugarfreeQuitSugarAddiction , but it will not allow me to enter food in the search toolbar in the add food section. It just jumps back to the main page. This seems like a great tool, but it’s useless if it doesn’t work.

App won’t track “sugar” days

Daily check in function doesn’t make sense to me. Check in alerts for “today” are triggered/pop up in the morning. And I’ve not been able to answer “did you remain sugar free” as no! SugarfreeQuitSugarAddiction won’t record it.

Zero vegan options

This is a terrible app for vegetarians and vegans. Even trying to find veggie patties they put it in by cup. There are zero options under protein that don’t involve animals. On top of that it is extremely hard to navigate. A lot of the goals, overlap each other, and you can’t do one without the other. Would definitely never ever recommend this to anybody who is trying to truly get healthy.

I really wanted to like this app

I downloaded SugarfreeQuitSugarAddiction because I thought it would help me track my sugar intake. Unfortunately I canceled my free trial the same day I signed up. There's too many glitches in SugarfreeQuitSugarAddiction that make it hard to use. I can't even log in the food I eat. Whenever I try to do anything on SugarfreeQuitSugarAddiction it takes me back to the home screen.
Very disappointed, if it worked out for me I would have paid for the yearly subscription as I am very desperare to control my sugar. Oh well!

Glitchy

I like the idea of SugarfreeQuitSugarAddiction, keeping it simple, but I’ve had several glitches over my first few days of use. It doesn’t seem to save my logged foods consistently. Things that have been added later disappear, or deleted items reappear. Also when I’ve edited an entry (for example, changing a food entry from breakfast to lunch) it doesn’t stick. Also have not been able to get the upc scanning function to do anything. I would not pay for this and will be looking for other options.

Like it but odd scaling on iPhone 14

I’m enjoying it so far but it would be great if it were designed with a more comfortable margin! SugarfreeQuitSugarAddiction goes all the way to the edge of the screen and into the Dynamic Island. It makes things really hard to reach! It would also be cool if the tabs reset their positions to the top after swiping between the different tabs. SugarfreeQuitSugarAddiction is just really large and not scaled well, but I like it so far. I just wish it was more comfortably designed!

Great concept but poor execution

I wanted to love SugarfreeQuitSugarAddiction but couldn’t handle the glitches and missing features - no ability to see your profile and modify your goals, data entered didn’t save or looked modified… major bummer

It’s just ok

I am not able to record a day in which I failed to saty “sugar free”… so it feels disingenuous. Maybe I am supposed to feel good that I am at least on the journey. I like the encouragement/reminder to stay hydrated

Food Catalog and Grammar Need Work

SugarfreeQuitSugarAddiction is good for tracking your sugar intake and the number of days that you’re able to remain sugar free however the food catalog needs some work. It would be nice if the foods you eat regularly were in a category of their own. Also, the grammar and spelling aren’t that great in their daily motivations and explanation of symptoms. It’s pretty obvious that their created by someone who’s primary language is not English.

We’ll see if it’s worth the $27 annual fee. I’m on day 6 of a 60-day sugar detox.

The app needs a little tweaking

I’ve been using SugarfreeQuitSugarAddiction for three days and my only complaint right now is that I can’t figure out where to change settings. I’d like to change my goal from 5 grams to the WHO recommendation. I had to make that choice before really getting started and obviously chose the wrong one for me. I used the question part of SugarfreeQuitSugarAddiction and it told me to go to profile/settings. I can’t find either and the in-app ? couldn’t tell me.
That being said, I like being able to track foods, add my own foods to the list, track water and sugar intake, side effects, challenges, etc. If I didn’t like SugarfreeQuitSugarAddiction , I wouldn’t spend all this time reviewing it for the developers.
I also wish that when adding a food, you could put the total sugar if you don’t know the breakdown between added and natural sugars.

Just what I was looking for

I really like SugarfreeQuitSugarAddiction and have found that it really helps me reduce my sugar intake. Trying to not break my sugar free streak is very motivating.
However, there is room for improvement. I would be more excited about the daily check-ins if I could include more “moods” than what is offered. It would also be helpful, and more try to life, if it was possible to select more than one mood. A person’s mood can change throughout the day. Being forced to only select one is limiting and not representative of my entire day.
Overall, a very cool app.

Great idea could use some improvements

It’s really great and it’s worked really well for me, the only issue I have is that literally every item I scan has the wrong information in it I just manually log my sugar to get around this but a feature to let you “edit” the added sugar and calorie content of items you scan would bring this up to 5 stars for me!

Help

any way you could make it so we pick our own stop times? i just downloaded SugarfreeQuitSugarAddiction .. but i actually quit sugar 2 days ago.. it won’t let me adjust it..

Nice

Easy too use and helpful

Great but glitchy

Love the idea, but SugarfreeQuitSugarAddiction won’t let me log food that is outside of the “quick add” or “common foods” section. Would be great if that part of SugarfreeQuitSugarAddiction could be fixed 😊

Update: problem fixed, and the customer service is incredibly kind and efficient!
