Great app

I really do enjoy CalmUrge. As a teen my hormones have been tidal waves and self harming has been something I have struggled a lot with. CalmUrge helps me more than any other app I have tried. It gives me a variety of fun distractions and fidgets that help put my mind at ease when I’m having a rough time. I was a little disappointed when I realized that some of the tools in CalmUrge you had to have a membership to use, but then a few days later they all became public access which was very fortunate, because as a teen I can’t just spend money like that. While it may not help everyone I think that the majority who use it will find it very helpful and easy to use.

Good app but. . .

I feel like if this is something that is meant to help people, it shouldn’t be as limited. To heal faster, it’s better to know how you have been feeling and if you are like me you would know..it really isn’t easy to track your emotions manually. Maybe even impossible. And what if the body of the person gets used to the ways they calm down? They will need something new. For me, I use all of them in a specific order.

But if the user is under the age of 16 they do not have a job. They cannot get money unless it’s a gift or mow lawns but let’s be honest, someone who is dealing with all of this stuff that led to harming, they most likely wouldn’t have the energy to do so. Even if there is a free trial! Some kids alike to me don’t have the freedom to even use the free trial or to find another app their parent to approve of. At first I was going to use CalmUrge "I Am Sober" but there is groups so my mom would not allow me to and others who use CalmUrge may be in the same situation! Their mom/dad/guardian wouldn’t let them use another app so they found this.

Much love, Karson the 12 year old 🖤✨

Used to be amazing, now you have to pay

I struggle with depression, anxiety, and self harm, and CalmUrge was so helpful. It used to let you share your notes with your therapist, track your emotions, concerns, and showed you a graph of how difficult your days have been over time. Unfortunately, the only original function that isn’t behind a monthly paywall now is just the daily journal and the original calming activities. When the premium feature first came out, only the extra activities were part of it. Now you need to pay every month to use basic functions of CalmUrge . I understand because the developer of CalmUrge is probably working on this on his own, but it’s still annoying that the “advanced statistics” which used to be free and a core part of why I used CalmUrge are now behind a paywall.

get this app!

I’m 16 and severely depressed, I cut myself a lot as a coping mechanism. I know it’s not right and it’s not good for me. CalmUrge is so helpful if you do the pledge every morning and the rest at night it’s so great to track how many days I’ve been clean of cutting. I love CalmUrge so much whenever I'm sad which is most of the time I go on CalmUrge to the calm urge button and I just go through all the little things it has. Please if you want an app like this get this one! It’s so helpful and just wonderful overall!!!

Amazing app!

I have been improving a lot on myself because of CalmUrge! There’s also a feature where you can have a passcode for it so only you can access it! There’s also an area in CalmUrge where you can distract yourself if you have the urge to SH and even a sos button where I think you go to the suicide hotline or something like that, I haven’t needed it yet though because I’ve had CalmUrge since February 20th which isn’t long but it has helped a lot :)

amazing app !! super helpful

CalmUrge has really helped me gather my thoughts and emotions and track how i’m feeling. it’s so cool to be able to see your progress over time and you start to see trends and it’s just been very helpful. it’s so nice to be able to track how you are feeling while also being able to journal and write your thoughts down. i HIGHLY recommend this to anyone struggling with depression, anxiety, or any kind of mental illness 🤍

Yay it works!!

CalmUrge is pretty neat in my opinion. If your looking for an app that will help, this is probably one of the best apps I’ve tried. No ads as well. I was clean for 6 weeks before I relapsed but CalmUrge has tracked and helped me. Have a good day/night and I hope you find something that works for you when you’re not doing so hot💞

Upset

I am disappointed that they took away the option to see statistics over time. It is a major reason I use CalmUrge. I understand they made a premium version to make money but they should have added even more new features and charged for those rather than strip those who already had something free to them from them. I'm not paying a subscription for this. Maybe a flat rate but not a sub. It is kind of weird this is what is being capitalized. I know I'm one person so it doesn't matter but I'm sure others feel the same way.

I loved CalmUrge prior and will change me review if anything changes.

Its okay

I like it but I hate the premium feature because it seems like you’re capitalizing on people who need help and I understand it takes money to keep an app running and the developer needs to make a profit, it’s just a little upsetting. I used to like the statistics before it was taken away. Also the bubble wrap activity should have more realistic popping sounds, I just think it would be more enjoyable in my opinion. I still like CalmUrge and I will continue to use it!

By

Really good but one change

I love CalmUrge . It offers multiple de-stressing games and diesn’t try to get you to pay for premium every few seconds. But there’s one problem, I’m on an iPad and it doesn’t let me do regular voice calls. I have to face time people. So when I put people in emergency contacts it says phone not available, maybe if you could add something for FaceTime or something else?

By

extremely helpful

i’ve used CalmUrge on and off in the past and no other app has been as helpful as this. there is something so pleasing in the fact that calm urge provides fidgets to play with if you’re having urges along with other calming tools like breathing exercises and rain noises. most other apps i’ve seen have a clock and that’s it. calm urge has logs, goals, messages etc that are really helpful to look back on previous days and how i was feeling. whenever i have relapsed CalmUrge has been extremely kind and understanding,, it feels good to have something that doesn’t berate you for having a relapse

A really nice app

I am really glad I found CalmUrge. Not only am I comforted by seeing my progress but calmed down by the organization CalmUrge brings me! One of my favorite features is that I can protect other people from seeing my data by using a password. CalmUrge is really great and definitely helps me calm my own self harm urges.

By

Definitely recommend

CalmUrge is really helpful for me, the free features are great. And as someone with anxiety and depression it’s really great. My one suggestion would be that in the mood tracker, I’d like to be able to add my own moods! Sometimes words like sad just don’t describe it, y’know? But overall, five stars!

I’ve always struggled with cutting

CalmUrge gives me something to look forward to I enjoy the activities that keep me out of the mindset that I want to harm myself and it also helps me look forward to seeing how long I can go without cutting

By

Great! A few notes

First off lemme say I never write reviews, I’m usually too lazy. But I felt like I should for CalmUrge. Overall CalmUrge is great! I recommend! My one feedback is it says “can you manage self harm” is a little confusing wording. Could you make it something like “do you think you might self harm?” Or “have you self harmed” instead.

Calm urge

I had to reinstall bc it stoped letting me in but I rly like CalmUrge it shows a lot of adds but it’s worth it bc it shows things to keep you calm in situations you feel like you want to harm yourself in so I like CalmUrge and it shows how many days you are

By

Love it!

I have absolutely no complaints about CalmUrge. It truly helped me to just vent at the end of the day. I like how I can look back at my week and statistics of how my week went. I love it, and have suggested it to many people!

By

10/10 recommend

CalmUrge has really helped me when I’ve been in public. It’s helped with everything from self harm to just crying over stupid things. I really recommend.

By

Amazing

CalmUrge is really helpful. The only downside on it is that you have to pay for some sort of premium. I guess that’s fine CalmUrge needs to make money some way. But either than that best app ever. I’ve been 10 hours harm free I’m hoping it gets better

By

Great Start

CalmUrge has a great start. It has helped me a ton so far. I wish that there was a way to add more emotions to the list. There are only 4 good, 0 medium, and about 12 less than good emotions to choose from. I wish they gave more tools to learn how to categorize your emotions.

By

Few suggestions otherwise i love it

My suggestions would be the option for better moods too struggling with bipolar i like to see how my days were and CalmUrge is perfect for my depressed state. The other thing is I wish i could share my journal with my therapist via link that i’d not a big concern but i get uncomfy reading it out loud- my therapist suggested that when u press no for manageable self harm it can call an emergency contact for you 1.therapist 2.family
someone u can trust to help you get through

Meg

I have depression and anxiety and realized I wanted to track my progress with cutting. CalmUrge has a really calming format and it’s really helpful. I think the addition of communication cards would be nice. For example if you’re having a depressive episode or panic attack and you aren’t in the position to explain, you can just show it to anybody who is worrying. Just a thought.

Amazing App

I’ve always struggled with suicidal thoughts and self harm urges and stuff like that. CalmUrge has helped me a lot with it. there’s things you can do to keep you busy on it, and at the end of the day theres a choice to write a review of how the day was. I’ve been clean of self harm for 2 months because of CalmUrge. Definitely recommend!

By

Amazing

The vibrations of all of the coping skills are very calming to me. It’s been a struggle, and this has definitely kept me occupied just for a second. Which is definitely helpful. I haven’t had it for very long and it’s helped a lot. Thank you

By

Great app

CalmUrge helped me so much I highly recommend it has a daily journal and little fidgets to calm you down and you can have a password so no one else can get into your information

..

I’m still working on quitting self harm but CalmUrge features fidgets and you’re able to vent and I feel like it’s just a really good system. I’m slowly getting a little better everyday.
