I love WidgetPod, and it is very customizable and gives you the option to make your widget blend perfectly with your home screen no matter what layout you’re aiming for. However, there is a huge feature that’s missing that’s very important to me, and that is automatically refreshing the “now playing” song. I know that it works fine when you have the this app app running in the background, but I so badly wish that the widget would update without needing to run the this app app. I gave WidgetPod 3 stars because that’s a huge deal for me, and is kinda the whole point of WidgetPod . I know this feature isn’t implemented due to Apple’s limitations, but if there is ever a way to work around it, that would be awesome. It’s still a great app either way, and I will continue to be using it! The automatic refresh would bring WidgetPod to 5 stars though.

Definitely one of the best music widgets I’ve ever used. The only issue is that the widget stops refreshing itself and stays still after closing WidgetPod , which to my understanding shouldn’t be a problem because the other two music widgets (musicview and tunetrack) work well without opening WidgetPod even though sometimes there’s little latency. My guess is this app might have different working mechanisms. But still I think refreshing without opening WidgetPod is very necessary to me. I hope this feature will become available.

At this point it is ridiculous on the part of Apple that we have to pay for a widget that plays music that the phone should already come with. However, it is a great widget and I did not hesitate to buy the pro version because the developer did not get greedy and go subscription-based model. Keep it up. Yes, yes, I know developers also need to put food on the table, but some these apps are getting out of hand with ridiculous subscriptions. Keep up the good work.

Love the customization WidgetPod provides, however, for paid app I wish there could be some more small detail options added. For example I would like the option to edit the text size in the widget, thus allowing songs with long titles to be fully seen in the widget, especially the medium sized widget. If that isn’t doable for whatever reason then a moving banner transition to show the rest of the title test would be cool too.

This widget is overall wonderful but I have couple small things I’d love to see improved or added. The first is small detail, I’d love if control buttons could adapt to the color of the artwork as well. Second, the battery drain with this widget is a bit rough. I’m typically able to end my work day with around 73% battery after streaming music/podcasts all day. With this widget, I’m starting to see closer to 60% left.

I absolutely love WidgetPod and the widgets work very well! The only thing that I’d add would be the ability to skip, pause, and go back on the small sized widget. I know that there probably won’t be enough space for the album art but for me at least I’d rather be able to control my music using a small sized widget than look at the album art! Anyways thanks for a great app that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg!

This is just what I was looking for for iPad especially! I bought the Pro version immediately (quite a deal for just 2$ Lifetime!) My big problem is that I want to control the music playing on my HomePod. This Only shows the music playing on my device. When I forward the music to HomePod it shows that the song is paused. Also the Full Player lacks the AirPlay feature. Please fix this in the next update and I will gladly give 5/5!

Very good but has its limitations. The biggest is the fact that WidgetPod has to be running in the background for the widget to refresh (despite having background refresh turned on in settings). I know Apollo (the reddit client) refreshes its widgets every 15 mins or so, so I’m sure the developer of this app will find a way to do that.

I was really bummed that the Apple Music app doesn't have a useful widget...no worries though, because WidgetPod is great and does exactly what I needed and more. Can easily access music thru my home screen, and WidgetPod offers lots of customization. The developer is very responsive and has put a lot of work into this product. Highly recommended.

Great looking app but I wish I had been able to actually test it on my Home Screen before buying (as opposed to being able to build it in WidgetPod but not actually see it in action). If I start music via Apple Music, it doesn’t update until I tap the widget and have it redirect me back to the Music app. That might be an iOS limitation, and fair enough if so, but I didn’t realize that u til after shelling out for the full app.

Since widgets have been announced I have been looking for one that displays what is now playing with music playback buttons. Some small glitches when the buttons are pressed, but it works! Note you have to get the pro version $1.99/lifetime to enable music playback. Totally worth it. Great job devs

Thank you for responding to my apple podcast question :) I do have something I’d like to see added: the ability to skip to the beginning of a song instead of skipping straight to the previous song.

Love WidgetPod, makes it easy to manage and view what track I’m playing.

Only suggestion I would make is to add the track progress bar into the widget, but would not be surprised if it isn’t possible because of iOS limitations.

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love this app. Especially how much you can customize your widgets. The only issue is when I start playing music it sometimes doesn’t update on the widget, even with WidgetPod opened. I tried closing and restarting WidgetPod , no luck. Otherwise great idea + widget!

Looks great, love this addition to my Home Screen.

My only ask is to not have WidgetPod auto-launch each time I press play/pause skip/back on the widget. Seems like this could be a limitation of the iOS? I’d prefer to not always have WidgetPod open in my app switcher just to use the widget.

Whenever I add the widget to the home screen, the background is just black and there is no play button or anything. Is this an app problem or is there a way to fix it?

Honestly such a waste, even for 2.99. Very buggy and doesn’t look nice at all. WidgetPod opens and closes after every click, the ‘now playing’ isn’t accurate as you change songs but it still shows the previous songs info. Overall: useless, not helpful, and simply a waste of money.

Bought it yesterday and already deleted. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Yes thank you so much, apple music currently playing music on there widgets, but not on Spotify's widgets, thank you for this grand opportunity of customization, I swear me and apple are going to get a divorce like we are married or something.

It is great idea to have album art shown on the home screen, like "bowtie" in the old time... But syncing seems to be broken as far as I experienced meaning the album shown in the widget doesn't sync with the music actually being played most of the time... It kinds of defeat the purpose of this widget for me. I wouldn't recommend until syncing works as expected.

A rare app that in its simplicity brings me so much joy. Highly recommended, Upgrade to Pro. It’s worth it.

I hope large size widget is being planned and the dev will include a play a must history similar to Apple’s widget.

The operation with apple music is pretty good. But after connected with spotify, the component’s
opreation is too bad to use. Even sometimes it needs to open itself then open spotify and wait so many seconds to play when I click play button. I think I will refund it soon.
