Trails Offroad Reviews

This will be my first ever review and the only reason I’m writing this review is because this company deserves it! I’ve been relying on these maps and trail reviews every single year for the the past few years on any and all camping trips I've made. I can honestly say that these maps have made my trips easier to plan which has made them a lot more fun!

I have high expectations for TrailsOffroad but I am most excited to use the apps offline feature and hopefully find more off-road trail enthusiasts along the way! Maybe a feature where we could meet other off-roaders or something along those lines!?!?

This company is amazing, I’ve met the people that started it and they are awesome people with a genuine love for off roading and exploring/overlanding. Their platform is second to none in the world of off-road navigation and their app is full of amazingly helpful features that make finding and navigating trails a breeze. I live in Colorado and use Trails Offroad every time I go to a new trail. The descriptions and overviews of the trails are insane and very descriptive to make every trail you are thinking about going on a sure deal when it comes to knowing what you’ll get into. Amazing app!

I love being able to download an entire state in order to see what trails are out their. I use GAIA on my tablet when off-roading and usually download from Trails OffRoad. This past weekend we went out and I was using GAIA as well as TrailsOffroad. I really liked the “Follow” mode as it shows the information on the waypoints without clicking on everything. I hadn’t downloaded the side trails to GAIA and when we came across one we ended up taking it using the Trails OffRoad app to find a sweet little lunch spot. Thanks for a nice weekend.

I have been a this app user for years. I even wrote a few of the trail guides but didn’t have time to continue with that effort. The offline feature will be amazing! An All Access subscription is well worth it. No other source has as much trail data. Trails are constantly reviewed and checked for accuracy. TrailsOffroad is very well laid out and is easy to use. The interface is clean and not cluttered. I look forward to seeing future updates. Don’t forget that the Gaia integration is great!

Is a Jeep Wrangler owner I am always looking for new trails to hit while in my hometown or on vacation… TrailsOffroad has helped me find so many trails, beautiful sites, and areas you would never know existed… TrailsOffroad has an easy user interface, easy to use while on trails, and the off-line download option is amazing security so you always find your way back. If you love overlanding, then this is a must have application. 10/10 Five stars!

It looks beautiful! I love that I can download all the trails for my state without having to do one at a time. Each page is laid out beautifully with details and ratings for each trail. I can’t wait to test it out and report back how well it works!

Pretty basic but easy to use and works fine. I like the fact that I can skip downloading the .gpx files to then use other apps for navigation.
A couple of bugs that I would like to see fixed. I downloaded a state but then when offline I’m not able to see the full trail details within that state. And also in “follow mode” it would be nice that the waypoint info are presented not only based on my current location but also in numeric order.

App works well. Fun to use to plan future adventures. I’m having issues with the waypoint function scrolling as I use the “Follow” function on trail. Also, it would be nice if TrailsOffroad had a feature where you could indicate the trails that you’ve explored before and maybe a notes section for each trail where personal notes could be stored.

These guys are fast! Reported a problem with TrailsOffroad crashing when creating an account, they had it fixed the next day and emailed me. Never seen that before with an app. This team is on it! Works great now, thanks guys.

Finally a great app for this site. So glad to have the information offline now, and for a whole area. Often we change plans on the fly and this will help make educated choices!

You can still export your route to GAIA, but you kinda don’t need to with TrailsOffroad on your GPS iPad. I’ve been a paid subscriber to TO since 2019, and that subscription just got way more valuable! I will update this review with use.

Seriously. TrailsOffroad is a lot better than onX. So much easier to use, so much easier to navigate and they have an amazingly large database. Stop now and get this it has changed off-roading for me in a new way

Super excited to have an app version of the website and the new available features such as the offline mode! I’ve been on a trail ride with a couple of the writers and they do an excellent job of documenting the trail, obstacles, etc. Great Job!

It is great that with TrailsOffroad you can download maps by state, the waypoints are very helpful. Also customer service has been great with quick response.

The number one thing keeping me from buying TrailsOffroad is the fact that I already have OnX which has CarPlay integration. If TrailsOffroad had CarPlay integration it would easily be five stars and I would buy it today.

Love the new app- I used it this weekend. PLEASE PLEASE make it work with Apple CarPlay! That’s all I need for a 5 star review. I love that you can download the state list of trails and use it real time while on the trail - again this would be much easier if it worked with CarPlay! Keep up the good work.

I downloaded TrailsOffroad based on the great reviews, unfortunately I have been unsuccessful in trying to create an account, every time that I input all of my information TrailsOffroad crashes and closes without warning, I understand these things happen so once I am able to access TrailsOffroad and use it I will update my review

So TrailsOffroad doesn’t let you use your google account to log in, which is how I created my account in the website. I also can’t create a new account using my email anymore. Little clunky in design with that, not sure how to proceed.

Such a good (and much needed) app from a already deep library of trails with the best waypoint info out there.

Just used it for 7 straight days on a big trip on unfamiliar trails and it was a life saver!

I go onto TrailsOffroad , it directs me to their webpage. Then when I click for trail information it directs me to a page where I need to go back to TrailsOffroad Store. It ask if I want to copy something, or get TrailsOffroad without copying. When I do that, it says open. So I click open and it’s back to the webpage. So frustrating.

Don’t normally write reviews - these folks deserve it. Wow. Quality from start to finish. Offline mode is a godsend. Well done and thank you.

Pretty much the website in a friendly user app. Love the fact that you can download States for offline use. Perfect app to supplement Gaia GPS.

This is a must needed app to help you along the trail. Good waypoints info and highlights information to describe the trail itself.

TrailsOffroad is not ready. The membership from the website doesn’t seem to transfer to TrailsOffroad . TrailsOffroad is buggy, glitchy, and the fact my premium membership didn’t transfer means I won’t be opening TrailsOffroad for a while until it’s improved.

These guys are the best. Very easy to use and the way points are indispensable!

Have been a member and loved the website for years and I am SO EXCITED about TrailsOffroad. Great start, I look forward to see where ya’ll take it!
