TLDR; 2 stars because Aventon is hyped in advertising and it doesn’t perform well. It feels like it is still in beta. Love my this app bike. Not a fan of Aventon .
I can’t say enough great things about my this app Pace 500. The bike is AMAZING. I love riding it. This review is specifically for Aventon . Two stars because it is functional and most of the major parts of Aventon work (just not well). First, it pairs easily with my bike’s display. On a couple of occasions it has logged out and I have to login in and connect Aventon to the bike. No biggie, except I don’t realize it until I’m pedaling away. That’s on me, I should check it before mounting my bike. The gps function tracking my rides works mostly well. It tracks and keeps stats (mph, odometer, avg speed, etc) accurately. My gripe is that it stays zoomed out to show my entire route I’ve ridden during my current session. If I try zooming in or hitting the “center on me” button, it immediately zooms back out to show the entire ride again. Not a huge problem unless you don’t know the area well. Zoomed out, it is difficult for my 50 y/o eyes to see all the streets. Aventon has some gamification built in to compare your distance against other this app owners. It ranks by day, week, month, and all time. This feature doesn’t stay current. For me, not a big deal. I mention it because it’s on Aventon and doesn’t track accurately. Finally, the overall build of Aventon is a tad clunky and glitchy.
