Image recognition of my table failed several times with both the front and rear cameras of my iPad Mini and my iPad Pro. My pool table is well lit. I have the iPads mounted at over 6 ft with great visibility. I get 4 bars for framing and 5 for lighting.

Taking the first shot sometimes registers. The next shots usually fail with the error, “I can’t see the cue ball.” Many times, shots fail to register entirely, with no feedback at all.

I have uninstalled DrillRoom repeatedly, reset my iPads, redownloaded the apps. Stability is still poor.

This is an extremely frustrating app to use. I see the potential but it falls far short.

Other then what I stated above I think this is a great app. Although I really wish it would work on my iPad much bigger screen would be helpful or if it could work on a computer to a web camera that way you can save all you videos aswell

You’ll spend the whole time trying to get DrillRoom to recognize the balls are in position.

I worked with this a couple times over the past year spending a ton of time to try different things to get it working but it just doesn’t. Bought new tripod and moved camera and lighting around. Framing scores are very good but it doesn’t see balls touch other balls or suddenly ends drill thinking you missed for some reason. If tech gets better will be worth it just for BU by itself. Definitely doesn’t work in wagon wheel where you are supposed to carom into a ball- never had it call a success even once. Love the idea. Stream/mirror to my TV so can watch would love to have it work better.

When it works, it’s amazing. Unfortunately, I spend most of my time tricking the camera to re-analyze the table. Despite the constant recalibration, it will eventually lose all semblance of position and I have to restart DrillRoom and whatever drill I was doing.

I have gray felt against a dark room. I’ve tried all sorts of angles and positions in the room. I get that some set ups may be tricky, but this shouldn’t be.

I kept waiting for it to get better but it never did.

I am now not able to do any of the exercises. Every attempt to do any exercise DrillRoom crashes. I’ve reloaded DrillRoom and still the same issue. Fix please!!

Misses 30 percent of the shots. Hard to use in the tripod. Setup difficult. Need voice control options. Great idea. Not there yet.

Doesn’t sense when a shot is successful or unsuccessful sometimes but still a lot of fun!

I like DrillRoom . A few crashes. Would be cool to have a break drill.

As far as using augmented reality to train for pool, many solutions are dicey. this app has been the beat I’ve seen so far. Its simple overall to use, and work well overall. There were one or two times where the AI doesn’t track the state of the balls and tables quite right. But I’m hopeful that these bug will get shaken out over time. So far - wonderful progress on this product. With a solid engine, I’m looking forward to seeing what enhancements you come up with next.

Good teaching tool! A little finicky but stick with it, after a few tries you will get the hang of it. Look forward to seeing updates!
