Terrible app, very glitchy and won’t let you download voices even w premium subscription

I thought SpeechCentral was fine at first but right when I tried to name my first file for school it just freezes, I tried closing SpeechCentral out and starting it again and that worked to get SpeechCentral unfrozen but I still can’t add files!! And you HAVE to name to file in order to add it to SpeechCentral !

Instead of an ad here and there now you get full screen ads that do not close for several seconds with any interaction of SpeechCentral . You want to pause? Ad. Finished a page? Ad. Want to go back a page? Ad. Want to change any setting? Ad. I understand you have to make money, it’s a business, but it’s just silly to do so at the expense of your user experience.

I’m giving this a one star because it’s absolute garbage. It doesn’t tell you how long each file is going to take before you read it. I am utterly disappointed with the software and think they should be removed from SpeechCentral Store. If you’re looking for something better, you may as well do speechify. At least with Speechify, you can see how long it would take for you to finish a document. And you can also upload your documents in multiples. This software is absolute GARBAGE!

SpeechCentral simply does not work the way it’s advertised. First, I can never get it to open websites, I can only search on Google. Then, half the time it doesn’t register the words on the web page. I have to use a separate app to download the site pages to a pdf. And hope there isn’t any formatting issues. Because if there is, SpeechCentral can’t read past them. And with no way to skip words the rest of the page is lost forever. I bought the full version thinking that would open extra functionality but it doesn’t. Save your money and spring for the $20 or $30 more expensive apps. They’ll work better.

Not to mention the fact SpeechCentral can’t read hyperlinked or bolder text.

I wanted something which would read my PDFs while I do my running around. It didn’t work for me because it couldn’t access my iBooks folder. I walked away from SpeechCentral . I was charged the subscription fee so I guess I’m on the hook for that. I will say the developer was initially responsive but when I requested a refund, things got quiet. So, now I have an app I paid for which doesn’t work for me and to top it off, it is not the Plus version! Is it extra? Who knows! I don’t know what I paid for and whatever it is, it is not the full version. It’s still robotic voices. Note to the developer: please update the 3-step notification where it states “you will be changed at a certain date” to “you will be charged at a certain date”. I was charged and changed after using SpeechCentral

I canceled in the day due to renew but they billed my card anyway. Stay away from people like this!

It doesn’t transfer from page to page and I don’t like that I’d rather keep hearing it over and over from page to page when you press continuous but there’s no continuous but depress

What’s the point of choosing boxes and languages if it goes back to the same default English voice lady???

Doesn’t work at all—nothing can’t even send on word to to SpeechCentral —it is a fake

I would like my money back as soon as possible

Everything single time you click something it shows you an ad 😂😂

Press play? Ad.
Tap anything on the screen? Ad.

It would even load! It was stuck on the girl reading by a tree and would not move on to next level of setting up! Tried for 20 minutes and decided to delete app altogether.

I like the idea of SpeechCentral but the choice of voices are limited. I follow the instructions to use my iPhone voices but it doesn’t sync with SpeechCentral . And sadly the AI reader doesn’t follo the punctuation which makes reading confusing.

I was charged for the application and it then did not update to the paid version. It also does not have a voice recording option at this point or in the version that is downloaded .

Reading is sufficient, but what I don’t like is that it stops at every page. And if you select the wrong thing, it loses the page and goes back to the beginning of the book. Additionally, there is no book mark. So you cannot find where you left off and you cannot guarantee the page that you left off when you come back to the book. Improve this.

SpeechCentral does not pickup documents that have highlights or color. Just black and white documents.

It help me a lot. I only download good quality voices
