Synthy: Read aloud books, PDF Reviews

I frequently use Synthy to help me read long text from ChatGPT while working on screenplays and content ideas. I rely on it nearly every day, and it is truly valuable and helpful. However, when I tried to use it today, the output was barely understandable. It doesn't appear to be reading in another language, but it has a similar sound. Could you please explain what is happening? I am left with no option but to give it a one-star rating since I am paying for it and cannot currently use it until this problem is resolved.
Once the problem is fixed I will update my review and rating to five stars.

Synthy got updated a handful of days ago, and now will crash completely very frequently, requiring you to open Synthy and scroll back to where you were in the text. This was made worse by books no longer splitting up into hour long chunks, so towards the end of a book every crash has me scrolling for 2+ minutes to find my place, then half the time it crashes again within a minute

I've been using the this app App on my Apple device and unfortunately, I've been experiencing frequent shutdowns and Synthy consistently needs to be rebooted. These issues have made it very frustrating to use Synthy , as I frequently lose progress and have to start over. For example, I was in the middle of listening to the audio and Synthy shut down suddenly, causing it to lose progress I've tried restarting Synthy but the same issues persist.

I got the free 3 day trial of unlimited reading but Synthy still keeps asking me to upgrade. I did get the chance to read a few minutes from a pdf but it’s now stopped and add for the upgrade keeps popping up. Is this not an actual example of your premium service or is the premium service going to allow me 5 minutes of reading a day?

Aside from that, in the few minutes I did have to try Synthy, the voice is decent, choppy, mispronounces words that are very simple even (read is red).

I’m cancelling my “free trial” id imagine if the advertisement of the product doesn’t work as intended then the product itself will be buggy. Not going to risk it

I was not informed that after a period of time you had to pay for Synthy. It’s not that spectacular,I mean don’t get me wrong I think it’s really cool. I’m just suggesting that you should have it where you can buy the premium in Synthy ,but only if you want to. Over all I really like it and will probably tell my friends about it.

Synthy is wonderful for my reading-heavy major! The voices are great.

One suggestion: Can you add a feature that lets the user edit the title of each reading? All of my scans are labeled “Chapter 1” and I really get confused when trying to refer to each class’s reading.

I am constantly listening to audiobooks so a text to speech reader is one of my most used apps and I have have tried just about all of them in Synthy Store. Synthy has potential to be amazing and I will gladly pay for a year subscription with the right update. It needs dark mode. Simple but a big upgrade in my opinion. The ability to skip back and forth would also be a huge plus. I’ve had issues with it randomly stopping while reading or skipping around so I can’t really set it and forget it like I want to with this sort of app. I listen to books nearly 24/7, even while sleeping, so the stoping and starting every 5 minutes gets old. I don’t know if this is a bug or just how Synthy runs. The voice options are really nice and the reading is very realistic. Would love some options with accents to be added as well but I’m very happy with what’s on here so far. Overall, this could be my new favorite app if it gets a few improvements. Definitely would be worth the price for someone that listens to books as much as I do.

I installed Synthy for the most obvious reason, which is to be able to listen to any book or web article I want, but I now love the Talk to me feature, it's perfect to listen to your own notes.

Importing content from your local files or web pages is seamless. The background mode feature is perfect for uninterrupted listening. 5 stars all the way!

Synthy has all the crucial features in a very simple to understand format. When I have a slow day at work I can "read" for about 8 hours with no issues.

I use this to listen to novels while driving. It's absolutely amazing, especially useful with those books not available as audiobooks. It works well and does everything I want.

Besides the regular reading of texts from different sources, Synthy also allows me to listen to text I've typed, which is incredibly convenient to re-check my notes.

The variety of voices keeps it interesting when you have to read several articles in one go and they all sound very natural. I definitely enjoy reading more this way.

I can speed up the audio faster and it saves on exactly what line you're on so you don't have to scroll back down when you close it. It's just perfect!

I've had Synthy for one day, and it works fine! Although I have seen a lot of reviews saying it is bad, I'm not sure what they mean. The voices are smooth and very good, they just need something to control the speed. I also think we need some more voices that are free. I will write another review with the same nickname if Synthy crashes, so keep checking.

This is Synthy that i needed i was trying to find a app that will read web links to me i have ben searching the whole AppStore from top to bottom didn’t find any that i liked some had a stupid reading limit which is absolutely dumb i use voice over on my iphone but i don’t feel like scrolling every time i want to read a new line i just want it to read the whole thing but it doesn’t but Synthy does

I tried many other apps that can read aloud to you, but you really don't need any other one. If you don't have enough time to read, get Synthy and you won't regret it.

Absolutely the best that I've ever used! If you want to read the news or a document, use Synthy. The AI voices sound like a human being and you can adjust the playback speed.

I have tried quite a few of these apps, but this was the only one that gave me the possibility to adjust the reading speed to my liking. Just for that, I wouldn't use the others.

Synthy has everything you need and many of the voices are free , it even has a feature which you can listen audio books from a website , I tried many tts app ls and this one is the best so far .
