Took my iPhone battery from 95% to 25% in two hours while in the background. Several functions also freeze the iPhone. Not reliable.
First, I am not a newby with EFB apps. I am a 8450 hour CFI. Former Feeder Airline Captain and 20+ year turbo prop charter pilot.
2nd. Aviator Assistant was a great app in the beginning and I got quick responses when reporting issues.
NOW, don’t seem to really care if you are having issues. Call their phone number, and it says mailbox is full and not accepting new messages. I have pointed this out several months ago. No change.
Seems the first fix they try is to uninstall AviatorAssistant , then re download it and reinstall it.
Flying ifr, all of a sudden the ifr chart disappears. Big problem. Approach plate overlays have no transparency and you cannot see the chart behind the plate.
Vfr charts get lost as well.
Couple years ago, I gave them a 4 star rating as they were really trying. Currently, I cannot do that.
Notice there are no current ratings!
They cant even keep their charts up to date!
Don’t get caught flying with outdated charts!
I’m a CFI. When I click “Take Photo” to submit my license, AviatorAssistant crashes.
Like the title says - don’t waste your time or money on this garbage.
App was great when it worked but after a few days they force you to pay a subscription. Plenty of other apps have the same info for free. Way overpriced too.
The team behind this well thought out app has created a real winner, and provided the commercial and GA aviation community with another option when it comes to weather, winds aloft, airport info, and a host of other details. Their communication is first rate as well. If you’re flying for the $100 burger or simply looking to family in the old Piper, you can do worse, but you won’t do much better than having what truly has felt and behaved like an Aviator’s Assistant.
Have you tried Aviator Assistant—lately? Lots of upgrades and a GREAT intuitive feel. Stop spending a fortune with other companies that didn’t really earn your business. Aviator Assistant has become so awesome from actually listening to pilots, flight instructors, flight schools, and anyone that had valuable suggestions on what the general aviation industry needs. Have had Aviator Assistant for a couple of years now. You owe it to yourself to try it!
AviatorAssistant is amazing. Great maps, overlays, weather, and winds! Also very well priced for a subscription service! Going to enjoy using this while flying! Keep up the great work!
