Wonderful mission, too buggy to use

2024-05-12

Love love RollMobility’s mission and intentions but it was too buggy on iOS to use. The search function was hardly usable, it automatically selects filters (don’t recommend that) and the search didn’t really function. Also I see how location access is helpful but you should allow RollMobility to work without accessing location, let people search by town or business name or manually using the map. When I tried to sign up, similarly, the forms weren’t functioning fully and although I wasn’t using Voice Over, honestly I don’t think RollMobility is digitally accessible (ironically). Problems with the form fields, the tap targets are too small, the UI elements don’t have the right order/ placement, and more. It would not pass WCAG 2.2 AA standard and likely wouldn’t pass A standards (lowest bar for accessibility). Please work on the bugs and the accessibility and the privacy and I’ll be happy to come back.

Sign in hangs at handle

2024-05-17

I would love to use RollMobility, but sign in process always hangs at username. 🙁🙁🙁

Great concept, absolutely useless

2024-06-16

I was extremely excited to find RollMobility. However there is absolutely NO WAY what so ever to add locations. Businesses aren’t even listed on the map to be able to click on from the map. When reviewing you can ONLY review predetermined locations and there is absolutely no way to provide additional feedback, contact the developers or any guidance on how to utilize RollMobility.

I live in Orlando of all places. There is maybe 30 businesses on the list already reviewed however there is WAY too much opportunity for RollMobility to actually be productive for so little user interface. Why have an app of the users can’t do anything on it themselves!? I shouldn’t have to contact the developer to add a business to RollMobility so I can then review it. Giant waste of space on my iPhone, which is extremely sad as this is genuinely something more than wheelchair users need in life.

Lovely idea, but the app doesn’t seem to work

2024-07-30

I downloaded RollMobility hoping to leave reviews for other people to use, but RollMobility loads forever any time I try to look up business names or try to go to the review section of RollMobility . I’d love to use it if it would let me

Nowhere Near Enough Users

2024-07-03

I live in a fairly large city (over 1 million in metro area). Only six locations have reviews, and those reviews had no details or images of barriers.

A red symbol is useful, but I’d rather know the exact problem. Are there steps at the door or just no lowered section at the bar.

The idea isn’t bad, but it’s it’ll be pretty useless unless way more people start using it.

Very buggy & unusable

2024-09-13

Cool concept but very very buggy, phone number login & google login don’t work at all. Difficult to look up businesses, and once you go to a business’s page it may not let you scroll down to the reviews or swipe back to the map & you have to restart RollMobility to do anything else. Tapping existing reviews sometimes shows a different screen but sometime does nothing.
The location pin is also off-target compared to other map apps I have on the same phone.
Since this is unusable I’m going back to the similar iAccess Life app.

Doesn’t work in rural areas

2024-06-18

Doesn’t work in rural areas. There is no way to add locations to the map and many businesses in small towns don’t show up. Probably very useful in large cities but not for the rest of us

No Way to Add Reviews of places not on a predetermined list

2024-08-29

The “Add a Review” section only allows you to select from a pretty random set of locations that roughly correlate to where you are. It doesn’t include the building I am literally in front of, but includes one 2.5 miles away. The building I want to review is even labeled on the google map! No wonder there are so few reviews for me locally. It would be great to be able to drop and label a pin with business information, or at least to be able to select the ones already listed on the google map. Will absolutely change my review of RollMobility when I am able to add reviews for locations.

Great idea, more details needed

2024-07-02

There are so many ways for places to be in/accessible that more easy-to-skim details would be helpful outside of reviews. It would also be helpful to have some degree of rating around air quality or masking accommodations since some of us are still avoiding airborne illnesses, and finding spaces that are accessible to us is very challenging. With some tweaks this could be incredibly valuable.

Amazing Idea … Needs Work

2024-06-18

I really, really like the idea and the general concept, the execution is a bit lacking.
It’s very hard to use the search feature. After I clicked the place I wanted to review (which was already a struggle) it stayed on the loading screen and wouldn’t let me review.
It’s also hard to get out of the automatic review list, too small of a space to swipe it away.

Obviously RollMobility is geared toward wheelchair accessibility, if the reviews were more specific it could help with other kinds of disabilities too. Maybe more focused questions and/or more areas to rate could be helpful.

Not working to make reviews

2024-05-17

Trying RollMobility for the first time today, and while I was able to make an account, I cannot check reviews or leave any for where I’m at or have been.

I acknowledge my little village is very likely unheard of, but I have also visited two national chain locations and cannot leave a review for either of them.

Guess I’ll go ahead with my blog

Like AXS Map but with less functionality

2024-06-16

RollMobility is very easy to use, but it feels like a faint shadow of AXS Map - it lets you rate the entrance and the bathroom and that’s it.

Disability aid for non wheelchair users

2024-07-03

I downloaded RollMobility hoping that the review question answers would be available to look at. They would be extremely helpful for disabled non wheelchair users. I have EDS and use forarm crutches along with not being able to use stairs most days. Your app along with the answers I believe would help everyone navigate with their abilities.

It’s good, but there’s room for improvement.

2024-09-17

I work with the elderly, and feel like RollMobility could be a great resource. However, I do have a few suggestions.
First, I think there should be an “I don’t know” option that doesn’t affect the location’s score. To me, an able bodied person, a threshold doesn’t normally grab my attention unless I actively trip over it. I don’t want to say there are no issues with the threshold if I don’t remember. This also ties in to places having the wrong filters applied. I reviewed a theater I attend regularly that does not have tables you can sit at, but I wasn’t able to leave the answer blank.
Second, there are a few businesses in my area that are missing. I would like if there was an option to add a place. It may be a feature already, but I didn’t see it on my own.
Again, I feel like RollMobility has so much good potential. I sent it to many friends, and someone I know that uses a wheelchair. I’m hoping we can get the page for our city fully with reviews.
Keep making improvements!

Needs more options

2024-09-25

Need to add the following options or abilities: 1. Edit and update posts 2. Option for handicap access at back or side of location 3. Ability to manually input locations not found on map. 4. Add categories for handicap access for a location such as elevator, ramps, lifts, etc and number and location of access point 5. Add comments section

Needs work, love the concept

2024-07-03

I think RollMobility has a wonderful mission and is working to do great things, I think there just needs to be a few fixes. I think there should a an “idk” button or a “some” button for places that have mostly accessible spaces but one or two areas that are problematic. There could just be some more ambiguous answers with a space to explain beneath. It also needs to advertise itself a lot more as RollMobility only works if it has a large user base, which it needs more of. I think it could also use a button or a section to describe whether med bags are easy to bring inside or if it’s a hassle, also how the staff handle mobility aids. A place might be accessible architecturally, but if a staff member moves your mobility aid without your consent, allows for someone else to do so, or is just overall ableist, then it really isn’t as accessible as it could be, and that could be necessary information to include in ratings. Otherwise I do like the questions included so far and I like the ease in being able to look at a spot and see the red or green and determine how easy it might be to access.

Overall a good app but could be improved

2024-07-02

I love that the reviews are community based and made by other disabled people! Although, I would really like to be able to edit reviews I’ve left or delete them if I accidentally added wrong information. Also, being able to see the reviews I’ve left would be nice.

A good app with one small problem

2024-05-17

A good app that I wish had existed years ago! I unfortunately can’t leave any reviews where I live as any location I pull up is stuck infinitely loading info. There is also no easy way to report bugs unless I’m supposed too @ your instagram or Facebook?

Great app!

2024-09-17

Great app for anyone and everyone! Wish this would have been around when I was taking care of both my Grandparents near the end of their lives- they loved to go out to dinner and lunch in their chairs and online ratings at that time were VERY hit or miss. RollMobility would have been amazing!

Reviewer question

2024-09-17

I made a review and was not asked if I use a wheelchair. I don’t. I think that might be helpful to know as one assess an entry. It asks about the use of a ‘large’ wheelchair. Is there a definition of what is large? I also would like a not sure answer in addition to yes or no on questions.

Incredible app for the disabled community!

2024-09-17

Really awesome to see a group of devs create an application to keep track of what locations are not fit for the disabled community. The design is great and easy to use. The only thing I would suggest to the developers is to add a N/A toggle when something like table height is not applicable to a specific location.

Use this!!

2024-09-17

Whether you are going out for a fun activity or simply trying to navigate the able bodied world, RollMobility can help guide you much easier while gathering data about where improvements are needed!

Super excited about this

2024-09-17

Very excited for RollMobility. I love its questions. I do think an “idk” option should be available. As well as a service dog access issue question “did you have a service dog related access issue?” “yes, no, n/a”

Very excited to use this.

Could also include some information about friendliness of staff when accommodations are needed (could also just put in notes) and also the option to make broken.
“Is there an automatic door?” “Yes but broken”

Freedom

2024-09-17

For sure a game changer. It's so good to have access to all those reviews from real users, people like us. Without any side interests. And also it's so easy to post my own review's. Thx!!!!

Great App with a great mission

2024-09-25

RollMobility allows you to participate in inclusion in real time. There’s nothing worse than setting plans to meet people somewhere, and when you get there it’s not wheelchair accessible. More important this accessibility information is coming from your peers versus business owners who may think they’re accessible when they’re actually not.

Great updates and support from the Roll team to keep RollMobility running smoothly!

Great app

2024-08-04

Needs more categories - restaurant vs apartment complex for instance would help defined questions. Otherwise, such a great idea and tool! I think this will go far!

Awesome app!!

2024-05-23

RollMobility has been a huge help for my friend and I

Very Cool

2024-05-23

I love how easy it is to get a feel for a place “at a glance”.

This is great for folks who love the outdoors

2024-05-23

I am a veteran with disability and use RollMobility to help me get outside. It’s so nice to be able to see what places accommodate my limitations
