My preschooler asks me every afternoon if we can do our reading lesson and my 6 year old genuinely loves reading books—and does so on his own! I can’t say any of that would have been easy or even possible without this phonics app. After tons of research and talking with friends in elementary education, I know the methods of Readingcom ’s curriculum are sound. The lessons are easy to execute and my kids started showing progress in only a couple weeks. Plus, it gives us something enjoyable to do together that I don’t have to personally plan out ahead of time. It’s helped us build a lot of our family time around learning and reading. As a homeschool mom of three, I couldn’t be more thrilled to have found Readingcom!

This has quickly become the best part of our morning routine. My two-year-old has jumped right in to learn along her 5-year-old brother. Both are engaged and clearly learning SO many skills necessary for reading, each presented in accessible, bite-size chunks. I stumbled upon this while looking for some positive screen time options, and now I’m delighted to realize I will help my child (maybe children?) learn to read this year. Thank you, to the developers, for making this so excellent! I honestly can’t imagine how it could be any better.

My daughter is halfway through kindergarten and already knows her letter sounds, can sound words out, and is reading short sentences. She knows a list of 20+ sight words already. I downloaded Readingcom and realized they make you start at the beginning with no real way to skip the basics. Readingcom is of no use for a least a month for my daughter it seems, as it only lets you do 1 lesson a day, learning a new letter each day (which she already knows). It says learn at your own pace but that only means as slow as you want, not as quick as you want. My daughter had fun doing the first lesson but quickly got bored when it was too easy for her. Thank god for the free trial - I will be canceling and deleting Readingcom . Seems like a great way to learn, but more for beginners or those having trouble.

Readingcom easily guides me through the steps of teaching my child to read! I don’t have to worry about preparing or knowing when to teach the next concept as Readingcom provides parent instruction before playing the activity with my daughter. I love how the lessons build on each other, preparing her for more difficult activities as we move forward on the map.

I’ve used multiple apps and books to promote reading to my child . I can say Readingcom was well thought out!! With confidence, my child is reading within a week. I plan on completing all the lessons.. I think it goes to 99 but my child and I are here for it!!! Readingcom AND THE RESULTS paved the way for my 2 and 1 month olds . It’s guaranteed to work and that gives me confidence!

I never write app reviews but has to for this one! As a devious kindergarten and 1st grade teacher of 13 years, Readingcom has SOOOO MUCH brain research behind it. My five year old’s confidence has soared as she is now reading real words on her own! She asks to do Readingcom each day on her own since it’s not only educational but also extremely engaging! I wish I knew about Readingcom when I was in the classroom. It’s incredible!

I love Readingcom and so does my kindergartener who seemed to be struggling with reading and sounding out words. Now she is sounding out words like a pro and curious about words she sees on signs. I would highly recommend Readingcom. Customer support was also very responsive when I had questions regarding the family share feature. I hope they create a math app as well! Very well done!

I have six kids, and have homeschooled since my oldest was in kindergarten. When I say I’ve tried every app and most reading resources, I’m not lying! I’m currently using Readingcom with two of my kids. This is the exact program I’ve been longing for all these years! To actually see both my kids (a boy and a girl with different learning styles) learn and enjoy reading…

At its core, Readingcom is phenomenal for teaching your child how to read. The lessons are engaging and the artwork is stunning. Beyond that, Readingcom is also helping my daughter to create a healthy relationship with tech. This is specially due to the fact that the lessons are meant to be done together with your child. Thus creating an experience that is not only educational, but meaningful as well.

Started using Readingcom with my 4 year old. He knew most of his letters and still struggled with some of the sounds. We haven’t done a huge number of lessons, but he just read his first book (BOB Books) all on his own using the simple teaching we learned from the lessons and games!
Thank you so much! This has boosted his confidence to keep trying to read!

I have been using Readingcom with 3 kiddos and it has been wonderful. One child went from knowing 7 sounds the whole school year to now knowing over 20 in the span of a month and a half. I cannot recommend Readingcom enough to everyone who wants to teach their child how to read. It is fun, interactive and we love it.

There are certain things I look for when searching for additional help and resources that my students can use, and Readingcom checked off all of them. It has great aids for audio, visual, and kinesthetic readers alike.
I was greatly impressed with the thought and creativity—and obvious care— that was put into Readingcom.

My 5yr old absolutely loves Readingcom and actually looks forward to “playing” with it almost everyday! It’s screen-time that I never feel guilty about because I know he’s learning so much and after just a few weeks of using it I can see such a great improvement in his reading skills! Highly recommend!

I have 3 kids profiles set up, not all on the same device. When I updated Readingcom , the one that was farthest along (lesson 26) had all of their data deleted from my device! This is really bad software engineering, made worse by the fact that I have to try to manually click through all the lessons to get back to where we were. Not being able to jump to an appropriate lesson is extremely tedious and unnecessary. My time has value. Software developers who don't value their users' time are a shame to their profession.

I really like that Readingcom is meant for a parent and kid to do together… I love bonding with my kids over learning and reading and this makes it so easy to do that. It’s extremely user friendly and easy for someone like me who isn’t a teacher and I can see real progress in my son’s skills.

I haven’t seen an app like this for my kids. It’s super engaging, so my kiddos don’t get bored, but it’s also not just trying to hook them on endless rewards. I like that it gives me everything I need to do with my kids to teach them to read and I don’t have to do a lot of research or deal with complicated offline curriculums.

And that spark has eluded us for some time now! My 4 year old is obsessed with Readingcom. It’s given me the guidance I needed to help him to read and he was eager to “play” with me everyday. You take so much time to find the “right” products. I’m so glad I found this one. It’s an amazing gift.

We have loved using the Raising Readers app! We used it with my 6 year old, and he loved it! The Raising Readers app was the most engaging of the different reading methods we tried. Our 6 year old is a busy guy, and Raising Readers kept him engaged and looking forward to checking in regularly.

I don’t know why on my iPad it keeps logging me out and I have to start the profile over every time but on my phone it works fine. I rather my daughter use Readingcom on my iPad then phone. Other then that major pain I’d give Readingcom 5 stars because my daughter loves it.
By Tay1090
I’ve been using this with my 2 year old. The lessons are short and easy. He does get bored with it and sometimes we have to stop it he is reading three letter words and made it to level 10 which I didn’t expect since he is only 2

My daughter is going into first grade. She struggled a bit with reading in kindergarten and even went to summer school, but was resisting practicing with us. I saw an ad for this game and figured I’d do the free trial. A week in and it has really been working! The sliding bar in the “books” is helping her slow down and sound out each letter rather than guess the words. She’s been even using the skills on actual books! Free trial expired and I’m now happily paying for it! It was the boost she needed!

I tried the other apps like duolingo and abc mouse to help my granddaughter learn to read because she was behind in her 1st grade reading but they were just games and she was just picking random answers until she would “win” and she definitely didn’t learn much. I read to her every night but that didn’t teach her. I heard from a friend about Readingcom so tried it and it’s a totally new thing. We do it together and she loves it every night! Well maybe we do 3 times a week but the progress was immediate and now she is actually reading words. Readingcom has a very structured approach and takes the guess work out. I can not recommend this more and want to thank the makers.

My daughter is in kindergarten and is so excited about letters and words. We’ve started using Readingcom for her to get a feel for phonetics and seeing letters on the screen. It feels like a game to her and she loves the idea that it’s helping her learn to read. This will be a great companion over the next few months as we get into the school year.

Absolutely love Readingcom for helping my little one learn to read! The interactive games are a hit and the lessons are just the right length to keep her engaged. I've seen real progress in just a few weeks. A must-have for any parent teaching their kiddo to read. Five stars!

Teaching my 5 year old how to read and just learn her sounds has been such a struggle!! Was feeling hopeless. We’ve used some other “school” apps like Homer, KanAcademy and dulingo for kids, with no success. And even with at home curriculum we never make it very far before we just quit because I’m so frustrated and she can’t focus. We’ve done 7 lessons so far and she is the one reminding me to do them everyday. The alphabet song is great and actually teaches the sounds in a really fun song. The lessons are short and interactive and also make it so the parent has to be involved and do it with them. But still super simple and they go really fast. Neither of us gets burnt out. And even though she’s excited and wants to do more than one lesson, the program recommends doing only one a day. We haven’t been using it for very long, but I’ve seen more progress in her reading skills than ever before. Loving it and definitely recommend it.

I was an early reader, so at 4 years old I expected my daughter would show more interest reading and I was so excited to teach her!! We got the 100 lessons to learn to read book and although I was impressed with it, she didn’t like the lessons and we’d end up frustrated at each other. It was a chore!
Recently (she’s 5 1/2 now) discovered Readingcom and I was reluctant to try because I don’t love paying for apps, but I’m so happy to say it’s been the best thing for us. She LOVES it. She asks me to “play” it every day. She’s actually reading and it’s only been a week!! We still have 50+ lessons to go, but its given her so much confidence already! I know this is the push she needed and we’re so grateful.

It is a beautiful educational game. But one thing about it is it says you require a subscription for most of the games. I also love this because it will not let you skip a level or go to a new one you have to finish one to go to another

My daughter is 5, she is in kindergarten. The teacher called me because my daughter is distracting the class and can’t do her work on time, I decided to give Readingcom a try, she is on lesson 12 and we absolutely love it, she is learning so much and I’m so excited! Hopefully she can learn how to read by the end of the year.

My children are both autistic and struggle with speech and reading. Readingcom is a lifesaver. My 7 year old is reading so well now and my 6 year old is finally able to understand his letters because of the amazing alphabet song this program has. I’m beyond thankful we have something that works for us because other programs were not working. I love how it’s quick so we don’t get burned out but actually works to teach my kids how to read.
By mandyscheller
Readingcom is great. My 4 year old daughter has started reading some words on her own after just 19 lessons (granted this is a supplement to other homeschool curriculum).
My only complaint so far is that the alphabet song is the only music. Really? You only have ONE song? I understand that repetition is important for learning but I can’t bear to hear the song anymore and make my kids skip it. 19 days in a row of the same song and I can’t stand it anymore. It’s torture.

Wanted to leave a review on Readingcom. My son has so far competed 10 lessons. His Kinder teacher mentioned he was showing signs of dyslexia in October and that his test scores on reading and letters were not that great. We decided to download Readingcom to see if we could improve his reading and letter knowledge.
After speaking with his Kinder teacher today, she mentioned he has been doing great at blending his sounds, reading his letters, and his confidence has improved quite a bit. He has another assessment in a couple of weeks to check his progress, but so far so good! He gets very excited to learn off of Readingcom & generally does two lessons a night.
I love that it’s engaging & makes it fun for them to learn. The map part of the lessons are exciting for him as well as the extra content per lesson. Highly recommend!

My daughter absolutely loves this game. She asks for it everyday and knows her numbers enough to override the grownup settings and try to do more than one lesson a day. She loves the song and is excited about each of the modules. I had originally bought the book Teach your kids to read in 100 lessons, but was overwhelmed by where to start when I saw Readingcom and it seemed similar. We took the assessment and started in lesson 12. I like that Readingcom offers and assessment so we didn’t start at the begging and below her level. I like that modules that reinforce phonics, comprehension, letter recognition and letter writing and reading (the components behind the science of reading). Readingcom itself is not buggy and is seamless on both my phone and the iPad. Overall this is a great app that we love. My only suggestion is that the grownup screen use simple addition rather than the word form of numbers, which is easy for a learning to read kid to override.

So many things… the alphabet song is refreshing and fun! This program has been brilliantly put together. Using the sliders to blend sounds, parent tips(as a seasoned parent I taught three of my kids to read with various other programs) are helpful reminders. Short, clear lessons. Graphics are ADORABLE and not too busy- thank you! This program is impressive, it is clear a person with high standards put it together and used proven teaching techniques. I am impressed and happy to pay for this program. "

My daughter was struggling and behind in kindergarten and we felt like we had tried everything and couldn’t get it to click in her head! We stumbled across Readingcom and loved how involved the parents are with it so we went for it. IT WAS A GAME CHANGER! She is now up to her reading level and progressing every day! Readingcom has been the most helpful for her and I can’t wait to use it with my 3 year old next!

I’ve been a primary teacher and reading specialist for 15 years. However, my own son (4) was struggling with just the desire to want to learn to read. We’ve been doing Readingcom for 6 weeks and he is sounding words out beautifully, knows all of the letter sounds, segmenting spoken words, and just loving playing word games now.
I have been so impressed with Readingcom, I’ve been sharing it with all of my teacher/mom friends. This is a great investment in my child’s education.

My five year old daughter started to read by lesson 10! We’re at lesson 35 now and she’s starting to read books from the library. My only problem with Readingcom is today my daughter took my phone, opened Readingcom and got in by herself because she figured out how to read the written out numbers that allow parents to control the lessons lol

I’ve loved using Readingcom with my daughter over the last few months. It really felt like it took her from knowing letter sounds and reading words in isolation to truly being able to read. It was a perfect way to help build up her stamina for reading and to introduce more complex letter patterns. As an added bonus, it was a great way for us to get some special one on one time together with her little sister often demanding attention. Thank you!

Readingcom has been wonderful for my six-year-old and seven-year-old sons… We began homeschooling last year for their kindergarten and first grade years, where our concentration was mostly on reading. We used the teaching and methods found in the book “Teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons”. Readingcom fits perfectly with that methodology, and into our homeschool curriculum! Especially with our 6 year old, now first grader, who is still growing in his phonics recall, sequencing of sound, and fluency… Every time he completes a level he smiles so big!! Readingcom is the perfect balance between curriculum and fun! I do believe that his foundation rooted in the book based curriculum has allowed him to move with a greater pace than the typical beginner schedule, and Readingcom allows an adult to unlock the next lessons as I see fit. In all, Readingcom is great no matter the experience of the learner and the teacher (caregiver)! It’s a gem that is well worth the cost! Finally, Readingcom suggestion and emphasis on parent involvement is so important and necessary. Knowing some families don’t have that type of culture however, this would still be a good gift for a child with a device, and could be completed with the help of an older sibling or relative!

We just downloaded Readingcom for my 5yr old who’s in preschool (turned 5 recently). The reason why I only have 4 stars is because I would like to see more games for them to play, on their own. Do the lesson with parents, then work on their own having fun with learning games. She just started so the only game she could play was the cloud one, & that frustrated her. She wanted to play more games from Readingcom, but the other games were too advanced at the moment. So it would be nice to see more games for them to play, especially for beginners. So as they’re waiting for their next lesson they can have some fun playing learning reading games. Other then that so far it’s kept her interested. I’ve tried the hooked on phonics app, & she wasn’t interested. She kinda liked it, but I think it was too boring in the end for her. She likes the bar & sounding out the words with Readingcom, liked the cloud game, & likes the song. She even went to watch her shows, & then asked me how she can get back to “her letters” lol
Also maybe have the cloud game come up with more pics & different items for each letter, when she saw the same stuff for letters she said “AGAIN!!? Ugh!” Haha! And she was hoping to see a snake for S.

Tried this program for my kids. Not as convenient as we would have liked. Experienced sluggish curriculum despite fast internet and current devices. Had thought Readingcom had frozen at times due to it. Concerned about abilities to even delete accounts. Once sending in the form, there was no confirmation or anything. Tried several times, the forums just end up cleared. Not sure if the requests ever went through as we never even received confirmation of the request to email. Emailed the company support and never hard back. Did secure cancelling subscription through apple. Had high hops for this but definitely wasn't worth the download in the end. You can do an assessment to be placed where your child is currently at so that's a plus. But none of my kids ended up enjoying this program. I'm sure it'll be great for others, just wasn't the right fit for us. Hopefully they will finally respond and confirm our account was deletd.

I’m so obsessed with this reading app it’s really game changer!!! Truly recommend Readingcom for the kids who learn to read! It’s really helpful! My daughter went through all lessons, she love getting presents after she completed each lesson it’s motivating her to do next lesson! Books are really good and easy to read and understand. I love how they explaining each new sounds giving an examples of sounds and have a marks over the letters that helps to read correctly and easily for kiddos! We love this reading app!!! Thanks to the developers for such a wonderful reading app that really works!
By Ccaye31
There is no better reading app out there. My daughter is in Kindergarten and just finished the program. She understood the letter blending as explained and was engaged and excited to do the lessons. The books were cute and perfectly challenging. She loved completing the path. I love that the picture doesn't distract and she isn't guessing the words based on the picture. She actually knows them. I don't know any kids my daughters age that can read as well as she can after this program. Readingcom is worth every penny!
