When I first downloaded SoundMachine , I loved the ability to mix the huge library of sounds and set a timer for them. It really helped me to sleep. Unfortunately, after just a few days I could no longer access my mixes because SoundMachine required a subscription to continue. Nowhere did it say this was a subscription only app with only a few day free trial. There is no way I’m paying $60 a year/$9.99 a month/$4.99 a week for this. It’s a shame, because it had a good library and features. The developers need to make it either a one time small fee to buy SoundMachine , or offer a free version with limited sound selections.

SoundMachine will bill you $5 PER WEEK. It is literally more expensive than a five pack of licenses for the Microsoft Office software suite.

I will not pay for a sound machine when there are so many free ones out there. It was nice while it lasted.

SoundMachine reminds me of the “I’m rich” app that had only one purpose: to see how many people they could get to buy it just because it’s there.

SoundMachine has great music and content but SoundMachine tries to avoid mentioning that SoundMachine is only free for 7 days and then it locks behind a pricy paywall. I emailed them and they said I should have seen the disclaimer about the 7 day free trial but I didn't really see it. I wouldn't mind trying it out for 7 days but I think SoundMachine creators should be more transparent so users don't waste their time.

I just need sound to sleep. No where does this say you have to pay. Don’t call it a free app if it’s useless without paying a subscription. Deleting it now. Thanks for keeping me up an extra 30 min unexpectedly to delete this and find another actual free app

When you download it they don’t tell you it’s only an 8 day trial. Then you have to pay for it. There are several free sound apps out there.

This is a revolutionary app. Allows you to create your own mixes of ambient sounds to use for meditation, sleep, and as an excellent soundtrack to a variety of different activities. I have enjoyed endlessly creating background tracks for my audiobooks, as it really polishes the experience. Library packed with musical clips, nature sounds breath sounds, binaural beats, recordings from deep space, single instrumental tones, and more, in addition to it’s own large library of stories. You control the volume of each sound and save mixes to your own favorites library for easy access including Siri shortcut. No more loud bird sounds or strong thunder, which scare my small dogs, or fake crickets drawing real ones, to ruin my soundscapes. Legitimately could not love this one more.

there are a ton of apps out there and i’ve tried a lot of them. this is by far the best. it has a great selection of high quality traditional ‘white noise’ sounds. the music is gorgeous and interesting and uses psychoacoustic research to inform its characteristics. the narrations also use research to inform their content/structure. all around great product.

So many options, all free. You can mix nature sounds with music and a variety of other things. highly recommend, so relaxing.

Just found out about SoundMachine because I was looking for an app to replace my trusty old sound machine. SoundMachine works amazing and has a tremendous catalog of sounds and stories. It puts me to sleep in minutes. Download it, you’ll love it!!

The first time I downloaded I didn’t need to buy a subscription, the next time I open SoundMachine it said welcome to Sound Machine, it doesn’t let me continue unless I buy a subscription, I tried login in but said en error occur?

I love this so much, it is so relaxing when you combine lets say a crackling fire plus a downfall of water and a story that’s what I’m doing plus the book Alice underground this sleep sound app is so worth it and you get an amazing experience even without paying even a dime!!!

I’ll gladly pay $60ish dollars a year to finally get quality sleep. The sounds and music are great but it’s the stories, strangely enough, that put me right to sleep. Especially using the “Abbe” voice, I’ve never made it to the end of a story! When I have to get up, I simply start the story again and I’m back to sleep in minutes. Thank you!!!!
