White Noise HQ: sound machine Reviews

I really was enjoying WhiteNoiseHQ. I love all the options you can download and that it plays on the background. It also has the nice touch of fading the sound in and out. Real cool. However, a star was lost because just yesterday, it started turning off automatically and randomly. I don’t know if it’s a bug or what but that’s my biggest complaint. I can see how the ads could get annoying but I don’t mind them and they help keep WhiteNoiseHQ free.

Edit- I think WhiteNoiseHQ was turning off because another app had a video going on and WhiteNoiseHQ will stop when a video is playing. Back up to 5 stars!!!

I suffer from misophonia. Years of living next door and underneath noisy neighbors has completely upended my life and caused me to develop severe anxiety. I’ve tried ear plugs, actual white noise machines (although, the Lectrofan is great...it’s just my neighbors are a different breed), music, and cranking up the TV to no avail. I’ve been using WhiteNoiseHQ for a few years now, and it’s the only white noise app that blocks out any and all sound. I can’t hear a peep. It’s like escaping to my own oasis without fear of hearing people talking loud, chewing, or stomping. It’s truly helped me make it through the night without wanting to kill my neighbors.

WhiteNoiseHQ has a sleep sound for everyone. The quality and authenticity of the recordings make it easy to drift to distant lands and environments. There are many sounds to choose from. When I am having trouble falling asleep or getting back to sleep, I select the sound that works best, set the timer in WhiteNoiseHQ and rarely am I still awake after the timed session ends. I have tried other sleep sound apps and this one has the greatest variety and quality of sounds.

I would have given this 5 stars as the sounds are the BEST I’ve heard in a sleep app so far, HOWEVER- every time a pop up comes up advertising one of their other sleep noise apps it STOPS my sound dead. I have to click cancel on the pop up for the sound to come back. This is super annoying as I prefer to have sound all night long to help me stay asleep. It happens wether or not the internet is connected. I’m not going to wake up and keep turning off the add all night..
I hope this is fixed soon cuz if it is it would make this the best sleep app available...

I usually sleep with a box fan at home, but have been traveling a TON lately for interviews, and despite spending so many nights in hotel rooms that are either too quiet or too noisy, I've gotten great, restful sleep thanks to WhiteNoiseHQ. Someone complained that it was preventing their phone from locking/draining their battery, but I just manually lock my phone after setting my alarm, and haven't had any issues. Have continued to use even when not traveling :) 10/10.

Although you can create your own mixes using the many sound options I prefer to use the noise blocking mix. The noise blocking mix enables me to completely tune out all household sounds so that I can read/study during the day and sleep at night. Allows others to carry on with their activities without interfering with mine. No other app has been able to do that successfully for me.

Started using it for travel and now use it at home as well. Really effective blocking out neighbor noise, traffic etc ! We travel quite a bit and never know the degree of sounds from street, traffic, or neighbors can be expected. Having an effective, consistent white noise helps tremendously and provides “normalcy” no matter the difference in environment. Have used this in many, many countries and on airplanes - and we love it!

WhiteNoiseHQ doesn't have a ton of options as far as noises go, but I thought I would give it a try! I tried the white noise, and immediately felt like I was going to have a panic attack! The pink noise was too weird. Once I got to "Wind in Bavaria," I fell asleep immediately, and then dropped my phone onto my face!!! I knew I had found my perfect sleeping aide! Unfortunately, my husband doesn't like the sound, so he turns it down during the night. Lol

I put in my noise canceling headphones and turn on the rain sounds. I cannot sleep when my husband starts snoring. Until I found WhiteNoiseHQ. I can set it to turn off in a set time and it must fade out because I haven’t woken up when it stopped! It has kept my husband asleep as well since I’m not waking him to stop snoring. Works perfectly for what I need!

sounds options are endless. WhiteNoiseHQ works best when played over surround sound so it blocks out all other noises that might wake you. I don’t sleep well at night, but every time I’ve used WhiteNoiseHQ I fall asleep fast and don’t wake up in the middle of the night at all.

The recording are very high quality and you can’t even tell where it loops.

WhiteNoiseHQ is great because unlike the other apps that do this same thing, this one allows you to play the sounds in the background. It's great for blocking out other sounds when you're trying to work on something, but isn't distracting like music can be. It's also great if you have roommates who are less-than-quiet when you're trying to get some sleep. Overall a great app!

I’m 10 years old and I have some questions about if this will still work I’m giving this a 5 star because it works for my mom but when I try it it just doesn’t work for me I should also mention I am a terrible meditator , my mind will not stop all I hear at night are my bad grades and friends who probably hat..... that’s none of your business

I don’t get any apps without them being free, your site said FREE, there’s a pandemic going on and people have lost a lot of work trying to catch up with their bills such as I. If your site lies to me and others about this being a free app you should hang your head in shame, don’t steal, don’t cheat and don’t lie to people. If I don’t hear back from you then I will remove all trace of your app, I don’t care for anyone who tries to profit from struggling households going through a pandemic. Karl Thomas

I really enjoy WhiteNoiseHQ! It gives many different choices for background noise to fall asleep with! I especially like the steady rain, forest stream and rain on tent. Very soothing!! I also love that you can download the ones you want and put your phone on airplane mode. : ) Highly recommend to anyone having a hard time sleeping. Give it a try!

I love WhiteNoiseHQ. It offers many sound options for diverse needs. I have Fibro, sound sensitivity with tinnitus. White and Pink noise are recommended to soothe pain. The developers are authentic in their offer and do not attempt to bait folks by offering more than what you actually get. They offer more free sound options with high quality sound than other similar apps.

I’m not a good sleeper. Any little noise usually awakens me. My husband is a snorer therefore I wake up frequently and have a hard time going back to sleep. With my WHITE NOISE I get a good nights sleep. I find the pink noise is the best for me. It drowns all most everything that wakes me up. Therefore I feel much better in the morning because of WHITE NOISE. Thank you.

I only use the white noise fan. I had used other tracks from other apps but they were all to “busy”. The white noise fan is clean simple effective sound . I know it’s simple because when I started using this selection I began to sleep longer and more restoratively .

I was away from home with a friend who awakened me from sleep across the room with snoring. At 2:48 AM I finally started looking for anything to provide white noise. Imagine my surprise when I found the sound of a “fan “ on WhiteNoiseHQ which is what I use at home. It was a snap to install and provided me the ability to sleep. Thank you.

WhiteNoiseHQ put me to sleep so fast! With someone with anxiety it’s a miracle to go to sleep within almost a hour, let alone 15 min. I at first didn’t know there were more sounds than the five given. (There’s a button with the four lines at the bottom, and then go to sound catalog) highly recommend!! 💜

With Tinnitus, One will try everything to lessen the constant symptoms. After finding White Noise, my sleepless nights have become less and less! I mix up the sounds, set the timer and drift away to a far away land! Thank You for providing such a magnificent tool for all of us out here.

I just downloaded WhiteNoiseHQ. Unlike others, you get access to tons of different sounds, some of which you wouldn't expect but after hearing them understand why they're there. Washing machine, for one. So far I am very excited to see what I can do with WhiteNoiseHQ.
