Imagine my surprise when I wake up and discover that my this app widgets were blank and unresponsive.

Imagine my disappointment when I learned there was a new major release that asks me for more money to keep using the simple and essential features that I had already paid for.

this app worked wonderfully for me for several years: a nice-to-have home screen decoration showing me my daily steps. Now I’m deleting it and waiting for Apple to Sherlock the developer with first-party health widgets. I don’t need this badly enough to justify another subscription, no matter how cheap, or to pay the $15 unlocking fee that feels like a stick-up because of how poorly communicated it was.

I bought Hidgets recently. Paid the full price. Now they finally update Hidgets and guess what? You can’t restore your previous lifetime purchase. I see other users leaving similar reviews. The dev seems to be saying “well, we werent making enough money but you can spend more by buying a subscription.”

I guess I got suckered the first time, but I’m not wasting more money on a sub.

I loved Hidgets until the recent update. Now everything I already paid for is unavailable unless I repay for an annual subscription. That feels pretty scammy and would’ve been nice to know that this particular update was coming along. I’ve decided to delete this app and find a new app from a different company.

Paid for the lifetime license and severely disappointed.

There is a critical bug where every saved widget deletes itself from the saved list around once a day.

I dont know how such a severe bug makes it to production. Especially after completely rugging this app 1.0 and forcing everyone into a paid only model.

I previously purchased a so-called “lifetime subscription” to Hidgets that was rendered useless with this latest update. Beware! Who’s to say if you buy yet another “lifetime” subscription, the same thing won’t happen yet again when the dev wants to squeeze more revenue out. These shady practices should not be allowed in Hidgets Store. It’s bait and switch to sell a “lifetime” version that can just be taken away.

i bought and happily used Hidgets for years to have walking mileage on my home screen, today Hidgets updated and has locked this previously purchased functionality behind an on going subscription or a 15 dollar unlock 'forever' option.

seeing as they have just taken things i paid to have access to and are forcing me to pay for them again, i'm afraid the unlock forever option doesn't appeal to me, and i've uninstalled 🤷🏻‍♂️

also for what it's worth the new app update also makes configuration of the widgets more convoluted than i remember it being, so in addition to double charging, it seems net worse.

Rule #1 of app development: don’t take away existing features to ‘encourage’ users to pay.

This developer has removed the free widgets that were once part of Hidgets and now hides them behind a paywall. Clearly, Marcel doesn’t think the new features he’s added are compelling enough to justify the pricing on its own, so he resorted to removing previously available functionality.

I won’t be rewarding this kind of behavior with my money.

I realize it states in the description that the update frequency is controlled by IOS not Hidgets . That still means using Hidgets may not be the best option if you want frequent updates. Viewing heart rate during exercise, for example, does not work particularly well.

I like having a widgets for certain HealthKit metrics. I wish the interface was more intuitive and I wish you could make medium and large widgets with some sort of combination of metrics.

I purchased this 3 years ago and used it daily. I even recommend it to a friend! Today I found that it no longer works since version 2 requires different configuration. I don’t see a way to configure it like I had it, so am now looking for an alternative.

Hidgets is incredibly simple and yet so essential for me. As someone with heart problems Hidgets helps me take glance at my vitals throughout the day. I’m hoping that Hidgets will integrate ECG and more in the future! Overall, I love Hidgets. The widgets are gorgeous, customizable, and refresh regularly. Active Cals is stuck on kCals for me though which I hope will be resolved in a future update.

Nice app, didn’t work right when I installed it. I restarted my phone and waited a little while and the widget appeared in my list. But it looks like a very nice app

The widgets are nearly perfect. They look like something that Apple could have produced. I love the design. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars was because there are a lot of other metrics that are not available (yet) that I would like to see. I am aware though that the developer plans on bringing more metrics to Hidgets , and I can’t wait!

This is such a wonderful little utility for glancing at various health information. Previously I was opening health and rummaging through to find this information, but now I can very quickly swipe over and see all the info I need. Thanks!

It’s nice to have my health info, like my steps, available at a glance. I look forward for more widgets to be added. Developer has been quick to fix any bugs found and has shown an interest to making Hidgets of high quality.

I was disappointed that Apple didn’t provide any health widgets with iOS 14. I found this app after a quick Google search and I wasn’t disappointed. I have all the options I need. Kudos to the developer(s), keep up the good work!

I bought Hidgets day 1 but was disappointed that I couldn’t include it in my home screen’s medium widget stack. Now that you have updated to include these, Hidgets is amazing! Thank you for this update!

Download for the Steps widget but it doesn't work and crashes Hidgets . Everything else seems to be working though. If they fix the Steps widget it would be great, but right now it was just a waste of my money.

I have really wanted to see how my active energy compares to the average on the Home Screen and this widget has just that! Thanks for making this!!

Pretty good app with lot of stats. Hope stats like mindful minutes would also be available.
