J.P.Morgan Corp Challenge Reviews

Users: Be sure to set the Display > Auto-lock feature to never and have your registration number with you, even if you have entered it before!!

This is an app that was clearly never tested (possibly because it was released late...). First off, it clears the logged in user every 2 hours, an absolutely unheard-of (security??) feature—as users sign up through their work email, this can leave you locked out at the start line if you don’t have access to work email on the device you are running with!!
Next, the big one, is that JPMorganCorpChallenge closes and stops recording if the screen is locked!!! I don’t even want to think about how many poor souls (me included) ran their heart out for 3.5 miles only to find out that the activity was not recorded (at least not on their app, because uploads from standard apps are not supported for whatever reason...)! So, be sure to keep the phone screen on while running by turning off auto-lock.

Runner clicks “Start Run”, you track them until they run 3.5 miles. That’s all JPMorganCorpChallenge is supposed to do. Somewhere in the middle of the run though, JPMorganCorpChallenge crashes and I was left with nothing to show for my race effort (I do have a GPS activity from my watch at least).

I get that you didn’t plan this months in advance and I appreciate the effort to put together a virtual race. But the big question is, why did you try to build an app in the first place? There are countless other running apps, which runners already use. Most runners also have GPS watches and would much rather use those instead of having to carry a phone around during a race effort. You could have very easily made this a virtual race on Strava and avoided the hassle of building your own app.

I was extremely disappointed when I went to check my pace over halfway through the race to see that JPMorganCorpChallenge hadn’t recorded any of it. I decided to give it another go and would just keep running longer to find it did the same thing a second time. I had no idea it wouldn’t record anything once the screen was locked. It’s pretty absurd to think I have to keep the screen unlocked the whole time—I don’t even do that when I’m using GPS directions in my car. A heads up on that would’ve been greatly appreciated.

JPMorganCorpChallenge was finally released 3 days after the event started, it still doesn’t function properly. Shortly after beginning to record a run it logs me out and stops tracking. After the first attempt I thought maybe it was user error as I only waited a few seconds before stashing my phone away. But after trying it twice more and checking it periodically throughout the first 1/8 mile I had identical results. Three completed races but no results recorded.

The whole point of JPMorganCorpChallenge is to track your time for a virtual race. I started JPMorganCorpChallenge , started my race, put the phone in my running bag and ran. At the end of the distance I took the phone out of my bag only to discover JPMorganCorpChallenge was back at the login screen and had no record on my run. It failed at the one thing it is supposed to do.

Beyond that it does not remember your registration login between sessions of opening JPMorganCorpChallenge which is also a pain.

This is a piece of crap. Everytime you open JPMorganCorpChallenge you have to enter your registration number and date of birth. Why can’t they save in JPMorganCorpChallenge . I dis a good run today tracking it with JPMorganCorpChallenge . However when the phone went to screen saver mode JPMorganCorpChallenge stopped tracking. I have to seriously question the qualifications of the team that built JPMorganCorpChallenge. Total crap. I want to give 0 stars but the review requires at least one. This does not deserve even 1 star

I was on treadmill got nothing just time no miles . I wish it could just sync with Apple watch or Fitbit also since they do work and log miles .i kept phone in pant pocket and it just sit down.... very unhappy

There really should be some clear instruction that your phone must remain unlocked and actively on JPMorganCorpChallenge for this to work (discovered this knowledge through Facebook after JPMorganCorpChallenge kept quitting and totally logging me off during my run). Will try one more time and then give up if it doesn’t work again.

Worse running app ever. App closed during run, have to run it again. I gassed myself trying to get a PR only to find out it didn’t track. It also doesn’t link to other tracking apps that are better. Waste of time, won’t be doing this next year, that’s for sure. Get your act together.

What a cool idea! In the time of covid it is hard to do corporate events but my team and I felt connected and were able to do this “together” Kudos to the JP Morgan team for this creative idea!!

Great idea but I mapped my course ahead. On JPMorganCorpChallenge I clicked start my run but got no feedback and when finished I clicked view results and there were none. Nothing under my activity either. It was like it never happened. I hope my company didn’t pay entry fees for this. On the bright side I got a good walk in on a beautiful day!

I wonder if the developers even tested JPMorganCorpChallenge a single time before releasing it (late for the actual challenge start date). Literally doesn’t do it’s only function of recording your run. I don’t understand why they would try to build an app from the ground up instead of just use already existing apps.

I've run twice using JPMorganCorpChallenge and on both times, JPMorganCorpChallenge did not record the run. I started JPMorganCorpChallenge and watched the timer commence only (and heard Kevin Hart's voice) to find that JPMorganCorpChallenge closed after the run and nothing was recorded. Very annoying. Too unreliable to be used for a race of this nature. Disappointed and frustrated!!

Same experience as others here. Went out for my run this morning, started it up, even got the audio prompt at the start, then a little later want to check app and was logged out and lost my run in JPMorganCorpChallenge . Strava has my whole run. Can I just submit that and get my shirt???

Tried this twice, both times I saw the timer start and took off running, and both times it reset during the run, list all my data, and asked me to login again. Pretty annoying to go hard for 20 minutes only to realize after that JPMorganCorpChallenge didn’t work.
