Why was the old app deleted

They deleted the old app with all of our personal info. Didn’t get any notice and had to go searching for this one just to be able to use the thermometer. I can’t even see a change. And if there is one, why couldn’t the developers just update the old app like every other app developer on the store??
Notifications and alarms barely work

Needs updated to work on iOS 16. Still works on iOS 12. On iOS 16, alarms do not trigger unless your phone is left unlocked and the app is open.

I’ve used the old app and have downloaded the Pro Version. I don’t see any difference. What has changed, improved or updated, no real info given anywhere.
