WORTH IT.

I’ve been following sarah for quite some time now, over 3 years so I was super excited about said “cooking project.” I think everyone was expecting a book like her workouts, so was surprised to see it was an app with recurring fees.

Not going to lie was very hesitant buying in, but Sunee is so fun and the recipes are even better. They also break down the price for you, like a 6-month subscription is like 1 night out of dining in America. 1 dinner vs dozens of healthy recipes? Figured I’d at least give it a go.

Love how comprehensive and thought out the entire layout is from pantry staples to recipes that incorporate healthy, whole foods. It 100% made me think about food differently in a good way, so hope to maintain these tips and tricks.

One critique I’d have if at all is that some of the recipes aren’t as healthy as you’d think so you have to use your best judgement, e.g. nachos isn’t exactly what I thought I’d see on her app. Would be fun for more community based stuff too like photos, comments, ratings, etc.

Also, I don’t have the reminder bug. It also doesn’t remind me all that often when I do have it turned on maybe 2x a month.

Hope this goes well for Sarah! Keep up the good work.

Could be improved

So I immediately downloaded this when it released because I was so excited to support Sezzy! But then I opened it and saw just how expensive it is for a subscription and that there was no month to month option. Also, only a few things were unlocked so I couldn’t even look around to see if it was worth purchasing. I also kept getting asked if I wanted notifications, like how many times do I have to say no? Great vibe though. I just wish it were physical or a one time purchase amount. I’d be much more inclined to buy it. With Pinterest and all the free content out there, I don’t see how anyone would be willing to pay that much. I hope the best for you girl. Just maybe should have thought of your users and the time we are in over your own wants. It’s called user experience design for a reason, you aren’t designing it for you, it’s for the people who are going to buy it.

Tried to Love

This is really hard for me to do because I love Sezzy, but Sunee needs major improvement. Cooking apps can be much more user friendly than cook books if done correctly. However, Sunee offers non of them. For Sunee to be worth paying this premium, she needs a tab to plan your meals for the week, at least, and have it auto generate a grocery list. Instead I’m sitting here writing a list down, like I would have to do with a cook book, but I’m paying a subscription fee for a app. Basically, this just a glorified, over priced cook book that has no added benefits. There is also not enough mail meals, and to mention there’s no nutritional information. Which I understand intuitive eating can work for some people but not everyone. If I’m paying this steep price and for this to truly be a cook book for everyone, this needs to be added. Many people have medical reasons they need to tract certain nutritional information.

GREAT app for healthy and delicious meals!

My family and I have been using Sunee since the day it launched. It’s difficult to get kids to actually enjoy healthy meals, but every one always asks for seconds! The meals are ones I’ve never tried and some never heard of before. The categories make it very convenient! It’s nice to have all the healthy variety of recipes in one place! The cost is worth it to me because it’s an investment on mine and my families health!

Sunee doesn’t include nutritional facts, but that’s because the focus of Sunee is on intuitive eating. It doesn’t bother me at all, but it may be bothersome to others! If you’re American, make sure you do the conversions! (My husband didn’t realize the oven temperature was set to Celsius at first lol)

Thrilled! (But have suggestions)

So far we have loved every recipe we’ve tried. Kids too!

Love the articles, the search function, the recipe roulette and the fact that I can make notes!

I haven’t had any of the glitches or “Turn on Notifications” issues that others have. I also don’t care about nutritional facts. A: I would assume that is a HUGE outside expense and B: eating Whole Foods and balancing out your meals (not having three sugary meals in one day) are more important than calories and fats. The fact that the recipes are reviewed by a nutritionist and dietician is good for me.

The price is a bit of a sticker shock, but at the end of the day, having someone to tell me what to eat is worth the money. I get that you can search the web for similar recipes for free, but ain’t nobody got time for that! I went with the annual subscription, which I’m happy with, but don’t love the fact that if I don’t renew, I lose access.

Now to suggestions. Would love a meal plan function for the week. Would love an “add to my grocery list” function. Thanks for all you guys do!

No, I don’t want to turn on notifications

I am surprised and annoyed with how often this asks you to turn on notifications. It’s literally every 10 seconds, I timed it. As someone who is trying to not only live a healthy lifestyle when it comes to my body, but also my mind, I want as few notifications from apps as possible. I was also very disappointed to see that you cannot subscribe on a monthly basis. This is a major flaw. I don’t want to subscribe to three months and find out it doesn’t have the content I want or need and be in for a quarter of a year. Disappointing to say the least. I have downloaded Sunee but won’t pay for the subscription until the notification prompt is turned off once answered no instead of prompting over and over. I also won’t subscribe until I can do so on a monthly basis.

Rude creators & Basic recipes. Don’t waste your money.

The recipes given are basic recipes you find FREE on Pinterest. Smoothies, granola, nourish bowls, and basic chicken with veggies. Then this week... a coffee? Sunee glitches, theres so many errors and mistakes and there’s zero nutrition facts.

I’m super unimpressed by Sarah & this app deleting comments and then being rude to their fans/followers on Instagram who have legitimate concerns about Sunee. I saw Sarah comment to a follower saying “no one is forcing you to buy Sunee ”. Really? It’s an insult to ask $120 for a discounted one year subscription for basic recipes, rude creators, and a faulty app.

When your customers want to be heard and validated, you don’t respond with rude snarky responses, or delete/block them. Is Sunee designed only for Sarah or for your 1 million subscribers? Listen to your complaints and validate your customers this app, or you won’t be getting anyone to renew their subscription.

Meal Plan and Shopping list

Love Sunee , it’s beautiful and easy to use. It really encourages me to want to eat healthy.

In a new update you should thinking about creating a section where we can plan out our weeks meal plan. With that, it would automatically add the ingredients needed to a shopping list. For example, if I have 3 recipes with chicken, Sunee would add up the total amount of chicken I would need for the week. I think this would encourage more people to use Sunee daily and make it more convenient to go shopping with like Sarah mentioned. Also love Sunee how it is though!! Congrats, friends!

I tried, but I feel taken advantage of...

I really love Sarah, I love her ingenuity, drive, and bubbly personality. I tried so hard to like Sunee. Even though these are basic recipes that I could just google for free, it is nice to have them in one place. The BIG problem with Sunee is that you are paying a very high premium for having a dynamic platform, but I could have paid WAY less for a cookbook which would allow me to keep the content I’ve paid for forever. It is kind of a slap in the face to your supporters to take the content that we paid for away after the subscription is over, and that makes me feel used. In addition, there are lots of errors that should have been caught in editing. That’s a minor thing. Really, just don’t take away what I’ve paid (a lot) for. That might be fair if the subscription was $1.99/month, not $10!

Not worth, I’m sorry

I absolutely loved Sarah and followed her for years. I was bummed when this was an app but since I wanted to support her and always loved what she does I decided to buy the one year subscription. Sadly it has been 8 months and I made about 4 recipes. Sadly I only enjoyed 1 and that one would be found easily on a free blog. I am only trying to constructive criticism, Sarah if you are reading this please do less niche ingredients because I could not find half of ingredients at 3 of my grocery stores so I had to order online. It just is so expensive and I tried a nourish bowl and felt bland. I’m sorry to put this negativity on here but just trying to help. Maybe do the recipes you do as you like to and then maybe add 1 that would not be as niche. I’m sorry, personally just not going to be renewing.

Pretty Good

I was hesitant to download Sunee because I have been in a cooking rut since I had COVID, but recipes excite me so I thought I’d try it. The recipes I’ve tried have been easy to follow! I do wish there was a way for people to rate recipes or add comments on different recipes, as I often find myself looking for ratings. I also would love if you were able to search for recipes based on what’s in your pantry - for instance I went there tonight to look for something to make with ground beef and would have loved to be able to search for it.

Overall, I think a lot of time and effort went into making recipes for all skill levels and the recipes I’ve tried have been tasty!

Suggestion (love the app tho!!)

In a new update it would be great to include a place for people to add in 10-20 of their own recipes. Sunee would be really functional and used daily by people if they could include some of their already loved recipes AND some of your new amazing ones!! I’m wondering if you could even make them searchable to the individual that added them once in Sunee (not searchable by everyone). This way making that transition to healthier meals might be even more sustainable because people can still include some of their own recipes they love. Congrats on a wonderful app!

Overall Great

I think Sunee is great. The recipes so far have all been amazing!

I understand why people are complaining about some of the glitches, but I don’t see them to be anything too crazy. I personally do not feel they interrupt my experience. I think the people who are bothered are extremely techy (like app developer level). Somethings are a little chunky, but again nothing that interrupts my experience.

My only real complaint is the price. It is a little pricy to be an elevated cookbook. With that said, when you breakdown the price by day and consider all of the features and content, I think it is worth it if you have the money.

Great design, recipes are organized well.

Love the recipe options and extra health/well-being articles. The subscription is a little more than I thought it would be, but honestly cooking GOOD food at home saves so much money. I think it’s worth it, especially when I think about my whole family and try to plan meals for the month. Love the look/ design of Sunee , too. So much easier than food blogs that have WAY too much advertising to sift through to find ingredient lists.

Very underwhelmed and disappointed

There is a lack of any nutritional facts of any kind. Sunee in itself is disappointing in the fact that some of the recipes won’t show ingredients or method. I also dislike that you have to pay for either 3,6, or 12 months in full and there is no month to month option. Along with that point, I feel that Sunee is very overpriced for what you get. I was very excited for these recipes and since trying multiple recipes and giving them a fair shot, they just weren’t good. I was very underwhelmed with the recipes. All in all, I would not buy another subscription. The recipes, although healthy lack flavor. Sunee is not well made. The subscription is overpriced. There are no nutritional facts. I am extremely disappointed and underwhelmed.

It’s fine (but just fine)

Like most people, I think there should probably be more unique features for the price point. It’s a pretty expensive subscription. I also didn’t find the articles to be that helpful (and didn’t notice any additional articles added over my 3-month use). The recipes themselves are okay. Most of the ones I tried tasted fairly bland, although my boyfriend liked them. And I, like a lot of the other users, think there should be nutritional information. I know that Sarah promotes “intuitive eating,” but some of the calorie counts were *shockingly* high. It would’ve been nice to have some low-cal, high protein alternatives.

Lovee!! So many options

Sunee has been out for 2 days and I’ve already tried out 7 recipes and love them all! I’m so excited to finally have new recipe ideas, using ingredients that I can actually eat and don’t make me sick. One suggestion would be to add a search option under favorites; I saved all the recipes I want to try there and would love to be able to quickly search instead of scroll! Thank you for putting so much thought into these recipes🤍

Best App !!

First of all, every single thing was thought of for Sunee! So much creative, forward thinking intelligence went into the UI experience. As an app creator, this is HARD and I am so impressed. Second, THE MOST GENIUS IDEA! Screw cookbooks, this is the new way to get me recipes! It’s a great price for subscription. It’s easy to navigate and already delicious!! I made the sticky maple scotch fillets tonight and well, let’s just say, if I wasn’t already pregnant...I definitely would be after cooking these for my husband tonight. AMAZING!

Use the app almost every day

I genuinely love Sunee and the recipes! I haven’t been disappointed by a single one. I do wish it had nutrition info, I want to know what I’m putting in my body and it’s a bit extra work to do it myself but it’s manageable. The biggest worry I have is how reluctant the creator seems to be to feedback. It’s a great app, there’s just a few things people have suggested to make it more enjoyable to use, it really isn’t personal.

Disappointed

I have been a subscriber of Sarah since the very beginning. To make an app that doesn’t have nutritional information, and then to tel people would like info that they are in the wrong because “they don’t count calories” come on. Sunee itself is very glitchy, but pretty. $30 for a pretty app just won’t cut it though. Women have questioned variations of recipes to make them more lo cal, with Sarah responding that she eats dessert everyday and stays healthy and feel great. Not humble, and not getting anymore of my money. I’m sad to see such a beautiful person turn into what she has. Not everyone has money like she does, or the ability to eat sweets everyday and stay fit. Lost me as a subscriber too.

Healthy cooking made extremely easy!

I love Sunee and how easy it has made my life! Living a healthy lifestyle and trying to find recipes that actually TASTED good used to be really hard. With the this app app, I know every recipe is going to be a hit in our house.

The cookbook app

I’m coming over from the clog😌 I love Sunee thank you so much!

By

Love the design and concept, but...

Great app, the reason for 3 stars it’s that it keeps asking me every 1 minute if I want to activate the notifications and I don’t want that. Can you please change that so it respects when I say no?

The waiting is over!!

Ive literally been waiting for Sarah to put out her cooking project for what seems like forever. And now its here and its amazing.
