Nice app but results seem to be glitchy at times

Love using Solarweb to monitor my solar production however it seems to somehow lose data at times. For instance looking at each day in the month for previous month lost all results but two days. For the same month however on the yearly view shows the right total. This current month shows the right values per day but the month total is super low. I cam say data had been showing, then days later stuff seems missing. Love Solarweb but would love if results stayed accurate.

Intermittent information

When it works, Solarweb is great. But every week or two the daily energy tallies (as viewed in the month view) freeze up and stop recording. Tech support says to clear the cache and/or delete and reload Solarweb , both of which I have done; following this intervention Solarweb tracks fine for a few days and then the same problem shows up again. Rather frustrating.

Separate issue - sometimes when I open Solarweb a get only a white screen which lasts for at least 10 seconds, after which I give up and close Solarweb .

Not bad but could be a lot better.

Here’s a few suggestions:

I’ve looked around on Solarweb but I can’t find anyway to change the time from 24hr time to 12hr time. On the website you can change this but it doesn’t affect Solarweb itself.

Another great feature to add would be notifications at certain watt levels, it would be nice to be notified when the wattage is high or drops below a set number.

Widget integration would be great, having it display the current wattage and maybe a small graph on the home screen would be incredibly convenient.

New version has stopped drawing battery charge line

Decent app usability wise but flaky and buggy.

Since about a week ago, my overview dashboard has stopped showing the green charge line.

Also, I often have to force close Solarweb and reopen to get it to connect and fetch data properly to show the graph.

Room for improvement

Latest version not working with iOS16 , it launches with a gray screen with no data that does not moves. Also You have so much potential to improve the user data and UX presentation with all the data that you have collected. It does not feel like a native app performance and presentation wise.

Update glitch

With the latest update I have to log out and log back in to see my monthly amounts. It freezes on whatever day I load and even though it updates the daily the monthly won’t.

larger UI please

much better than using the web interface,
works ok when viewing ipad up close ….

however the UI for “current power” needs to have an option
to make it much larger …

for a wall mounted IPAD to show current power flows,
the symbols/text is much too small .

pls make this improvement and it will then be very useful ..

Old App is Better

I usually don’t write bad reviews, but Solarweb is bad. When first installed it wouldn’t load my info. Had to delete Solarweb and reinstall it. Finally I’m connected but the main screen has a little circle on it with what it’s producing at that moment and you can barely see it.

Constantly need to login again

When Solarweb is running I have no complaints. I’ve only had it installed for a week, so I’m still getting to know it. However, almost every time I open Solarweb it asks me login again with username and password! Surely it should remember this for longer periods of time.

By

Log in problems .

I have registered, put in password, then tried to login. App replies incorrect login/password. Will send email directions, but I get no email!!!!
I have tried multiple times, no email.. In spam, in trash, nowhere. Please fix!

Too focused on batteries

I only have solar and don’t have usage monitoring. Solarweb looks pretty stupid when that’s the case. The old basic app looks better for my use case. The old pro app has much more flexible graph viewing.

Hmm

1. I live in another time zone as I run fronius. I’m 9 hours behind. Would be great, if app can use local time and date. Not time and date from iphone. I have 23:30 Sunday, but my fronius runs already 8:30 on Monday. To see Monday graph, I need to wait to 00:01.

2. App doesn’t start. Only white page. Luckily there is still old solar.web which works including historical data.

Confused

When I look at History/Day, I see under PV production “W” & a graph showing up to 2.5 for March 1. If I go to History/Month for March 1, I see 11.19 kWh. What does the W 2.5 represent? Shouldn’t the day also show 11.19 kWh. Like being able to see previous months history, also use the old Solar.web app

Why does the app keep asking to log in after an update?

Solarweb is fine re data plots etc. What really annoys me is having to log in so often … why cannot Solarweb remember username and password! It seems each update requires re-entry or sometimes it is random. It is really annoying and I will probably stop using and delete Solarweb and just use the web version. Cannot finger id be set up like so many other apps???

Finally Feels Modern and Features Work

The latest update resolved the bug of Solarweb not populating the Day History Tab.

App is quick, graphics are easy to read and modern looking. Dark Mode is a great addition.

Much better than the older Solar.Web Live app, which felt like a webpage within an app wrapper.

Overall, I am finally happy to have gone with a Fronius Inverter; previously, I felt I had gone with a company stuck in 2009.

It would be great if Fronius had a API and supported Smart Home standards.

new version

it loads slow, updates when?? a step back ,x axe’s just one time ….poor!

By

Buggy, so it’s virtually useless

History tab, Daily charts (15 minute interval) shows 3x the what actual solar output is. Fronius.com page charts are correct though. Current production tab is correct, so whoever is doing the charts, their math is wrong

New update glitch

The new update to the interface showing production and consumption is great, it avoids having to go to the website.
However, if leaving Solarweb from the history page, it gets stuck trying to load the data and freezes when opening again, requiring you to close Solarweb fully and reopen. If this glitch could be rectified it would be a great app.

Bad design and UX

This is just a poorer version of the legacy app. No swiping and the hierarchy is confounding.

Worst of all, they now charge for historical graphic data - this after I’ve already paid 1000s of dollars for their inverter.

Bad business, bad app, sorry execution.

Old app worked far better than the updated version

I have used the old Solar.web app as long as I could, but the new app locks up and shows me nothing but what the “current” is, no weekly or monthly records at all.
