Sparrow Reviews

Upon opening Sparrow I’m asked to provide an email or phone number. I chose to enter an email and when hitting next I get a “server returned an error status code 500” error. I’d love to try and review Sparrow but can’t get past this issue.

Downloaded Sparrow after seeing lots of ads, and positive reviews on social media. Downloaded Sparrow , and took it to a range. Sparrow allowed me to record my swing as advertised. However, every time I hit the analyze swing button Sparrow crashes, and I’ve yet to get one swing analyzed.

I’ve been teaching golf for more than 10 years. I thought I could use Sparrow for guidance when it comes to delivering instruction. For someone that is working with people with different body styles, limitations, and disabilities I found Sparrow to be completely useless. Sparrow gives tips on very common mechanical flaws, but fails to accommodate preferences and or limitations.

Needs work in my opinion. Based on trial I will not be paying for membership which I’m bummed about. Difficult to setup by yourself but more importantly Sparrow never analyzed my swing. Continued to crash after a dozen or so attempts. I will come back to see if it improves and look forward to using in the future. Would’ve been nice to use on this snowy day in Massachusetts

I’m shocked Sparrow was released in the shape it’s in. Every golfer knows this is a great idea… who wouldn’t want custom swing advice by just taking a video? But it lacks execution and was obviously pushed to production too quickly.

The tech is far behind where it should be. I was constantly having joints mis-identified and it struggled to automatically pick up my clubhead. Sometimes, it would evaluate my form as if I were in X point in my swing when I was really in Y point. There was no way I was going to pay for a subscription after the flawed “analysis” of a few of my swings.

I hope Sparrow comes around. There are others on the market I’m going to check out instead.

So smart, if it works, which it doesn’t. Tried with the iPhone 11 Pro and the latest iPad, both with memory to spare. Crashes, doesn’t detect swing, crashes. So disruptive to a range session I’m canceling my subscription. Wish it worked.

Saw Sparrow when I searched for swing analyzers. The concept looks impressive but I, too, am having issues with it analyzing my swing. App always crashes.

PROS:

- Swing analysis is fantastic. It even gives you examples and compares your swing to a pro, in a variety of categories.
- allows you to set and track goals. Perfect for honing in on key aspects of your swing and allows for measurable improvement.
- Save your videos, track your progress. Enough said there

CONS:
- Only allows you to record with rear-facing camera. This makes recording on your own very tedious and time-consuming, since you can’t see if it even captured your swing until you walk back. It doesn’t audibly alert you that there is an issue, so you potentially miss a shot recording entirely.
- Recording is too sensitive to errors and it prevents you from even being able to record, unless you walk back to the phone and hit “try again”. But you wouldn’t even know, because you can’t see the screen.There should be a soft error, instead of a hard stop.
- Missing variety of recording options; should have a “timer” option to start. Half of the time it errors, it’s me walking out to take my shot and Sparrow says “too close” or something.

I have noticed a lot of people saying that it crashes over and over again. I found this to be true if I set it to tripod. If I set it to handheld even when I have my phone on the tripod it opens the camera and records a swing. This might be helpful to know if you are trying to use a tripod and it is constantly crashing.

I was able to only capture one swing. Like another that commented, Sparrow keeps crashing when I press Analyze Swing. Also, with iPhone 8 (iOS 15) it only allows for capturing with back camera. Would be a great feature if you could use front facing camera. For the swing I did capture, it gave me great feedback and I was impressed. Once the bugs are fixed, I am looking forward to using and would have no problem paying for a subscription. I’ll adjust my review in the future when issues are fixed.

I like Sparrow so far and have gotten some good guidance from it. I couldn’t find another way to give feedback, so into a review it goes. Sorry. 1) as a taller person, pointing the grip at my waist means a crouch or the heel of the club off of the mat. Maybe make that feedback a little more forgiving based on height? 2) if I’m at a crowded range, using my phone at max volume is going to annoy other patrons. Maybe let me be an adult and make a choice about the volume I want, rather than forcing 100%?

Wasn’t a huge golfer in the past but trying to pick it up through the pandemic. Was a beta tester for Sparrow and it helped me a lot, really excited to have the full version now! It really helps!

This is very cool! Highlights angles and distances of your swing and compare to a professional’s in split screen …love it !

Sparrow has helped me identify and correct some swing defects that I’ve been battling for 30 years. I highly highly recommend.

I have struggled at golf for years. Sparrow has helped me adjust my swing during my rounds to help me stay more consistent. I have seen a huge benefit after just a few rounds.

Sparrow changed my game, something I was unable to do before. It makes improving so much easier and everyone needs it!

I’ve struggled with swinging “over the top” for years and always had trouble visualizing what I was doing wrong. I thought my swing plane was good…it wasn’t. Sparrow changed that. It allowed me to see my swing and give visual feedback as to where it should be. Also gives great drills to help improve consistency. Love it!

How has nobody come out with this sooner?!? What a great concept!! User friendly technology that outlines exactly what I am doing incorrectly with cues all at the tip of my fingers. 10/10 would definitely recommend.

Go to the driving range, set up your phone on a portable tri-pod. Take a few swings, receive feedback on swing, look up drills specific to your improvement needs. Use the drills, film another swing and see your improvement. WOW what a tool.

Sparrow is great for working on my swing at the range. I use it in between lessons with my pro so I can track my progress. I’ve always wanted to be able to track my swing over time and Sparrow allows me to do it.

Sparrow is perfect for all levels of golf! It will help your swing in anyway you need. The advanced A.I is top notch! Definitely worth giving a try

I freaking love Sparrow, I am a newer golfer and Sparrow analysis your swing and then provides training videos based on what your doing. It clearly shows where you’re making mistakes and gives you good visuals as to what to do. It’s pretty awesome that this is a free app that can give you such good insight to your swing, thanks this app!

I badly wanted to love this app but too many bugs. It freezes up and has other issues. I'm hopeful the developers will take a long hard look at what needs to be fixed and just do it.

This app concept is excellent! If only it worked! Worse they misrepresent the ability to improve the FPS ( frame per Seconds ) by making it appear that If purchased they user would be able to increase the FPS and actually be able to record a full swing! Not true! This app cannot pick up fast fluid motion! DO NOT PURCHASE!!!!!!
