WidgyWidgets is good, works as it should and has some nice options. However, you only get 1 free widget slot to use. 2 if you leave a rating. If you want any more than that, you have to buy the premium version. (At least it isn’t a monthly subscription..) I understand wanting support but forcing payment for more than just 2 slots seems a bit steep. There are other widget app options that are free and give you more than 2 slots. I feel 5 would be a bit more reasonable. I plan to use a combination of several different apps. I suggest doing the same if you are on a tight budget and still want a cute phone setup.

Most Rodgers are the same old same old. WidgyWidgets gives the confidence the right widget combinations can be made or imported from talented contributors, and it is overwhelming.

Search works, yet would be helpful to be easier and provide more info like count and location on search results. Ability to search by s specific widget component would be nice. For instance you know you want s spacious clock style, search by that clock style.

Easier interface to edit and create would be helpful. In fairness this seems like the best of the bunch, just needs to be easier.

The biggest problem with this application is lack of combination copy and paste. You should be able to take 2 or 3 widgets, copy and paste the information in and make 1 large widget. That way you’re not dealing with the widget name sticking out like a sore thumb. I get the widget name can’t be helped, that’s apples issue. But copy and pasting should be so much easier to combine things. Unfortunately it’s just to hard to do. And with the latest update it crumbled what I already was doing. It was good before the big redesign. Sometimes less is more! Moving on to other widgets.

I understand that Widgy has been worked on for so long and has had so much hard work put into it, but I think Widgy should let users take more than one slot for widgets. I think only letting users use one slot without paying is outrageous, and I understand how Widgy would need money, but it's unfair to the users if Widgy really wants people to like them. I will not be paying anything to Widgy any time soon and I will just hope more slots are available for free users. Other than that, I think this is one of the best apps I have!!

I am so impressed with the capabilities of WidgyWidgets...even the free version! I did buy the premium app because there is so much I want to do and that allows me to utilize more widgets. Very reasonable price too. That being said, the developer baffles me. I joined Reddit just for the Widgy community and to suggest an Apple Podcast API, I also complimented WidgyWidgets in the suggestion. Impressively, the developer responded the same day, but then proceeded to permanently ban me from the community! I’m so confused about that. I even read through a bunch of strings to make sure I wasn’t making a duplicate suggestion, to not waste his time. If you read any of this guys replies on Reddit, you’ll quickly see he’s got no patience for even his PAYING customers. All that being said, despite the developer’s coarseness, he’s developed a really impressive product. Just tread lightly if you need help.

I like widgy. the widgets are cool and i like how i can customize my widget with my own dark and light mode backgrounds! The widgets automatically know information about your phone like it’s battery, wifi, etc. and i think that’s pretty nice too. whoever made WidgyWidgets did a great job and it was a good idea. The widgets actually make my phone look like it’s in like IOS 17 or something lol! The only reason i didn’t give it a full 5 stars is because 1: You can only get 1 free slot. how am i supposed to use widgy often and decorate my homescreen with your widgets? I think you should make atleast 2 or 3 slots free, and stick with ads. 2: it’s kinda hard to make our own widgets. like if we wanna add extra things and buttons and stuff we have to add shortcuts. and i’m making this review to get the extra slot which is sad and i shouldn’t have to but i am シ but everything in this review is 100% honest sooo

I love open-source type stuff that allows full user control, especially on a control-freak OS like Apple. So in that regard this is amazing. Great customizability. Purchased within 5 minutes. Two major issues within first 15 mins using: 1) Crashes when I hit "explore." 2) I do not want the Widgey app opening every time I click on one of my actionable widgets from the side slider menu. Why would I lol? Isn't the whole idea less clutter / more straightforward flow command? So if those two things fixed other minor bugs related to the CSS (i.e. opacity changing unexpectedly) then I'm happy. I see a lot of potential here and I hope they keep improving cuz I'll use it ad infinitum.

So, overall I think this is a pretty good app. The coding is fairly complicated, and does have a learning curve, but when you do learn it there is no limit to what you can do. Besides, that’s how it’s going to be for any coding. However, I would really like it if I could make a reminders widget. Maybe I can, and some please correct me if I’m wrong, but I would love to make a reminders widget just to customize the background. I also would love to make a weather widget, and I know that you guys can’t, but other apps like widget smith can, so I am slightly confused about that. However, overall I would say. That it is pretty good.

Hello developers of Widgy! I just want to let you know that I found a bug with displaying widgets on my Home Screen recently. I’m using an iPhone 7+, and when I put it into standby mode and then unlock it again, the widgets disappear. By disappear, I mean that the widgets act as if the slots they are set to have no widgets in them, despite the fact that there are widgets in those slots. Why this happens, I’m not sure, as Widgy works just fine on all my other devices (including my iPad), but not on the 7+. WidgyWidgets is still awesome, though—don’t get me wrong—which is why I’m only removing one star here. But devs, if you could please fix this small issue, that would be amazing; thank you!

UPDATE: Wow, that was really fast, guys! The devs just pushed out an update that has fixed the bug for me! So Widgy, I’m giving you back your fifth star. You’re welcome!

WidgyWidgets is awesome when it works, but I just did an update to iOS 14 beta 3 and now I can’t even scroll through the apps main page without it force closing on me.

UPDATE: I have removed the beta and went to the standard iOS release and I’m still getting this crashing problem so it’s not an issue with being on beta

UPDATE 2: updating to version 1.1 has corrected the crashing so I’m adjusting the review to 5 stars

This is so much better than the “other” popular widget creation app that you’ve all seen everywhere. The options here for creation are endless and are supplemented by other users who have also made widgets that you can use and customize (just look at the Widgy community on Reddit). This should be the de facto widget creation app.

Only suggestion I have is to get some of the examples on Reddit and use it for the promotional photos in WidgyWidgets Store. The pictures here don’t do WidgyWidgets ’s abilities justice.

It brings the customization of widgets to a whole new level, also the fact it gives a lot of flexibility in how you want to customize WidgyWidgets is great. Not to mention the fine detailing available is just impressive, but having only one slot without purchasing the full version seems a little harsh to be honest. I would’ve loved it if they had given just a few extra slots so that we can enjoy the widget a little bit more.

I used Iphone 12promax but when I choose actions "Set Transparent Background" in Manage tab only had 2 option were 12 Mini or 11 Pro/ XS/ X and I must select one. If I seletect these option, background will wrong with my phone'size. I tested in Iphone 7plus, too. It don't have any option and it work.

I think have some mistakes and you can fix it soon so I still give 5 starts for WidgyWidgets. Hope your action. Thanks.

Just what the title says. You don’t need any fancy coding skills or to be in computers a lot. It’s simply incredible. There are VERY few things I found I couldn’t do with widgy, making it the most customizable app out there. While it takes a bit to get a know of where everything is, it’s easy to use User interface makes it so you get it quickly.
Simply incredible, thank you for making a truly endless customization app.

Widgy completely changed the aesthetics of my Home Screen. The fact that you can create your own widget from scratch and make it look how you want it to look is incredible. Truly the only fully customizable widget creator out there. I am amazed with how intuitive the UI is. Sure, at first I was a bit overwhelmed, but once you start playing around with WidgyWidgets , you’ll get the hang of it and want to keep creating different widgets. Would definitely recommend WidgyWidgets over any other for widget creation.

Absolutely beautiful app, UI, customizability, practicality, and support is the best of its kind. I have yet to find a better more offer-able app than widgy and the fact it’s developed by 1 person is just astonishing. My only dislike is the 1 slot for the standard version, I understand that it’s a marketing thing to help development of WidgyWidgets and I’m grateful WidgyWidgets has made it as far as it had but about 1-2 slots for each widget size would really be appreciated, would really make that experience that much better for people who can’t afford it.

This is the best widget app. By far. It is the most feature rich. It allows for the deepest customization and precise editing. The developer is amazing and active and he listens to his users. So with this praise, I request one feature: a tap action called “tap to refresh.” When tapped. It simply opens Widgy for a moment to refresh the widget and then brings the user immediately back to the homescreen. It would be a useful feature since iOS widgets can only refresh once every 5-15 minutes or so. Anyways, I’m still rating 5 stars because WidgyWidgets genuinely deserves it.

I was skeptical. At first, I only saw Widgys that were geeky, cluttered, or some combination of the two. Most also shared the screen with app icons (which are about as appealing as litter along the side of the road).

However, a few Widgys were different. So, I downloaded some QR codes. The editor took a little getting used to, but in the long run, Widgys were easy to modify. I eventually came up which something that I thoroughly enjoy looking at when I unlock my phone.

u/duke4e, I have one suggestion. You need some screenshots here that show what Widgys look like on a Home Screen. That’s what gets people interested in WidgyWidgets, not the internals of how it works 😬

I have been waiting for a while now to finally make my own 100% customizable widgets. WidgyWidgets is genuinely one of a kind and you will not regret getting it. You have so many options it's like a kid in a candy shop, you can even import others widgy's (check Reddit for some) and rock it yourself. What's not to love about WidgyWidgets. Come on now, the only purchase is more slots, to which I think is very generous on the developer’s part. I’ve been checking to join it’s beta everyday, but now I can make any widget my heart desires! WidgyWidgets surpasses all the widget apps and I couldn’t be more thankful! Thank you Duke and all the helpers!!!!!!!!! I hope your app makes it to #1! 💗

It's rare to see an app come along that perfectly fills the void no one else has bothered with. Imagine amazing looking widgets that do all sorts of things you never thought possible, and even provide access to loads of already created widgets you can use as-is, or edit and customize. It's a beautiful thing.
It's obvious that this developer actually uses widgets, noticed the shortcomings, and did something about it. You can get a lot of joy from WidgyWidgets for absolutely zero cost, but even the pricing model makes buying the IAP a no-brainer. The cost is minimal, only a one-time charge (no ongoing subscription), and it helps support someone who really deserves it. WidgyWidgets had to take tons of time to envision and create, so the few bucks is worth it. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. Very well done!

Editing to hopefully provide additional informal. I imported a widget that is supposed to show the outline of an IPhone with a background that you can choose from your phone, along with the battery percentage and calendar date. I can choose the picture without issue as i have the permissions set to have access to all iPhone pictures. It looks fine in the preview area but when I add it as a widget, the background image I chose does not show up. I’m on iOS 14.0.

WidgyWidgets is the greatest widget app to ever exist and could ever exist, but, in order to use more than one “slot” (customizable widget) you need to pay for a 4.99 extension. Usually I would be fine with paying this especially for WidgyWidgets however I would love to share the purchase with my family. I did receive a developer response that said family sharing is on but that only means for WidgyWidgets in general. Purchased in app are not family sharing. I suggest making a “pro” version with the extension so that I can share it with my family. Thanks!

So I’ve been building custom widgets for about 9 months now and I’m addicted to creating my own custom widgets. It’s easy to browse the explore tab, collect cool widgets, and change up your home screen daily. It’s also surprising easy to get started making and modding your own widgets. The interface is clean and intuitive, and the Reddit community is always available to ask questions and brainstorm ideas. The developer has done an amazing job. Thank you!

When Apple launched iOS 14 I dove into HS Design head first. In just a few months I’ve used many of the apps that support my new hobby but Widgy is by far my go to and favorite. The developers work tirelessly to improve and offer the best experience possible. Equally important and fun is the community that has built around it (on Reddit, for me). If I had to make a list of Top 5 Apps I Can’t Live Without, Widgy would be one of the first two!!!

I started using WidgyWidgets while it was in the beta stages, and now it has been released. Ever since it was in beta, I knew WidgyWidgets had potential. It allows for almost full control over creation of widgets, fulfilling promises.

Unlike other “widget making” apps, you only have a limited variety of options to choose from. WidgyWidgets allows for you to make your OWN widget, which is amazing.

WidgyWidgets started off as a simple widget creator app, but during the beta stages it grew to so much more. A way to express creativity on your homescreen and see others as well.

The developers of WidgyWidgets worked hard to make WidgyWidgets work, and I hope it gets the recognition it deserves.

This is by far the best widget app out there. Unlimited customisation options. You can get whatever look you want on your home screen. Once you get the hang of tweaking things around, this is seamless. Options to edit imported widgets as per your need is also great. Well done.
