To Do Adventure Reviews

ToDoAdventure, like Plant Nanny, has become nothing but a money-grab after Sparkful took over both apps. Neither app works properly—I constantly have problems with both of them. And now the “To-Do Adventure” app not only keeps deleting my entire task list at the end of the month when it NEVER did that before, but now they FINALLY added new themes BUT you have to “subscribe” to get them. What an absolute joke and major ripoff. I’m better off making MY OWN to-do list in an app that actually works the way it’s supposed to AND doesn’t expect me to pay a ridiculous “subscription” fee just to access features that USED TO BE and SHOULD STILL BE FREE. Bye TDA👋🏻

I love the idea for ToDoAdventure and from what I was actually able to use of it, I don’t have many complaints. but I can’t get it to open at all now, it shows the title screen and then forces shutdown. I’m extremely disappointed, as I really was excited about using this to help keep me motivated and on task.

I’ve loved ToDoAdventure. After not using it for a while, I keep running into a bug where I’m unable to start new plans. Every time I try to add new tasks after starting a new plan, it freezes for a second, then says that it’s now review day and I just keep opening chests and getting coins. Not mad about getting the coins lol. But can’t start a new plan/add tasks without it automatically ending the plan.

The first thing I should mention is the lack of an option menu, I want to remove the music but that seems to be impossible. If it is, the far right menu that shows achievements is broken. I cannot scroll past the badges before the whole app crashes. The concept of ToDoAdventure is very nice, and I will keep trying to use it for the base value of it’s adorable motivations… but it needs help, and some serious reworks on the menus. I believe this can be a great app with a little more care placed on user experience.

Not super intuitive. When you add a task, it doesn’t give you the full list of options. So all the tasks I added that I wanted to be daily, I didn’t know to set as a daily task. There was no way to go back and edit the frequency of the task so I had to re-enter everything. Then when you don’t complete a daily task, it adds it to the next day, so now you have 2 of that task. If it’s a daily task, it should automatically cancel the previous day’s uncompleted one since the task is already listed for the current day. Also the whole unlocking islands thing is not very motivating and not satisfying enough to actually make you want to complete tasks. There are better task/habit builder games out there.

I generally like the set up, but there are no settings that I can find to turn off the music. It’s seriously irritating. I use apps like this for my ADHD, and I’m guessing that’s a lot of the adult target demographic, so why on earth would you make irritating music you can’t turn off? Right now I silence my phone when I’m using ToDoAdventure for more than 30 seconds, like when I’m setting up tasks, but I’m always afraid I’m going to forget to turn the volume back up :(

I used ToDoAdventure successfully for months. It can be a little sluggish at times. Now, however, it crashes and won’t open at all on my phone or my iPad. My todo lists are completely lost unless this gets fixed.

Love ToDoAdventure it's one of the few things that can successfully motivate me but saying there are 10+ themes is a blatant lie. There are 6. I feel like the developers intended to add more since there are badges for collecting 10, 15, even 30 themes but if they exist to be unlocked, I haven't found them. The badges are just there to taunt me with their unattainability.

Honestly I found ToDoAdventure really helpful for getting me to do things consistently, but there came a certain point where I missed a few days. Now it crashes and closes every time I open ToDoAdventure , which is unfortunate. If there are any fixes for this, I would be happy to continue using it more!

I would love to use ToDoAdventure, but it is completely inaccessible to the blind. I don’t know if this can be fixed, but it would be nice if it could be. That’s just my two cents.

I woke up to mark one of my tasks as “In-Progress” but the option isn’t there. I don’t know if it’s a bug or you took them away, but I refreshed ToDoAdventure about six times and they aren’t there. This option was very helpful for me.

I like the idea of ToDoAdventure so much! It makes trivial things in our daily life more fun and interesting. UI looks very clean and beautiful, though some interactions are a bit unintuitive. For example, when I accidentally marked my to-do item as incomplete, how can I change it?

Nevertheless, nice app overall! There are a lot of apps that take advantages from our “collection” habits and use it in a kind of negative way, in which drives their user to overspend or get addicted to games. However, I can see that ToDoAdventure is using these human psychology in a good way and trying to make our daily lives more fun and interesting!

I love the concept of this so far! It’s very motivating. The only thing I wish it had was the ability to schedule things in a more customizable way. For example, there’s no option to schedule things biweekly which would be very helpful.

This is a great way to make to-do lists fun and interesting. There are a few things that need to be fixed though. Its difficult to organize daily tasks by highest to lowest because it wont let me drag and drop all the tasks, just the ones at the bottom. Not sure if other people are having this problem or if it is part of the design. Otherwise its a great app and has quickly become a part of my daily routine, as have most other fourdesire apps!

Loving ToDoAdventure so far, but I noticed that whenever I play ads I end up getting stuck. The location of the button (and I’m assuming the model of my phone) make it impossible for me to click out of the completed ad without restarting ToDoAdventure .

Again, the only reason I’m voting this four stars only is because I haven’t experienced all that ToDoAdventure has to offer, although I would give it a five for actually motivating me to accomplish my goals on any given day whereas before I tended to slack off. Overall, excellent app thus far! =D

I like the concept behind ToDoAdventure because it motivates me to be productive. I just wish it had the same level of polish that other four desire games have. The game play is sparse and the art design doesnt draw me in at all. I dont feel rewarded by getting things done when another empty island pops up, and it might be less hassle to just revert back to my traditional pen paper todo list :(

I am really enjoying ToDoAdventure so far. I love using to do lists to motivate myself and this is perfect for me. It makes me want to be productive. The only complaint I have is that it’s kind of hard to add stuff to lists. I wish you could open the list and add tasks to it like the apple reminders but other than that it is an amazing app and I definitely recommend it

This is my favorite for making to do lists, it actually gives me a reward that I’m excited about.

I do wish that the reminders would consistently show up in chronological order... As I use this for keeping a daily schedule and after day 1 my tasks get all out of order for some reason. Could be something I did wrong but I haven’t figured out how to fix it if so.

I also wish you could change or delete the category tags it starts you off with..

But other than that, i really love ToDoAdventure so far!!

That was the first day they released it I was having problems too then they fixed it quick with an updated not surprised since it was their first day. Haven't had problems since! It does help convince me to stay on track which is perfect for me
