Great concept but has a bug

I love this ability to have my users upload their receipts, but the company list has all the company files that I deleted on the desktop, with no option to (or hide) them on the mobile app. Its confusing to the users and myself when trying to upload receipts.

Intuit is a MESS !!!

I got QuickBooksDesktop because Intuit discontinued Self-Employed without telling customers. It they are not only still charging millions of customers but raised the price from $4.99 monthly to $6.99 monthly. After not being able to login for months I found out they are replacing it - but didn’t tell customers and the new one is not even out yet!! They walked me through deleting QuickBooksDesktop from my phone and it’s no longer in QuickBooksDesktop Store. Unbelievable. So they are FRAUDULENTLY taking customer money for an app that doesn’t work, they discontinued and there is no way to complain as support is in QuickBooksDesktop . I finally called sales.

Anywho I used QuickBooksDesktop for two things neither of which can you do online which is where they sent me - snap copies of receipts and track mileage. I’m furious honestly they are jilting millions of people because they clearly don’t know how to run a business. They have no clue what’s important to their customers.

The board needs to fire quite a few people. It’s ILLEGAL to knowingly take money for a service you aren’t providing. It’s FRAUD. They need to be sued in a class action. How many millions of dollars have they wrongly taken in for a product their customers can’t use? It’s outrageous.

30-day trial

Signed up with my company name & it takes me to a screen that says "We didn't find any company". It then gives instructions on how to link your company but the options are not there. Just a waste of my time.

Update: so I figured it out but once you're in it's a 30-day trial period which it doesn't state in the beginning.

ZERO HELP ON THE ROAD

I almost never leave a review, but QuickBooksDesktop leaves me so frustrated.
QuickBooksDesktop would be SO MUCH BETTER IF when you sign on, you could see any sales orders or purchase orders if you need some info or you just need a number.
Even if you could not manipulate your sales orders or purchase orders, being able to see your documents would help so much!

Same As Everyone Else

QB Desktop for MAC is terrible. Anoher issue with QB is its ability to change QuickBooksDesktop you pay a subscription for, stop supporting that version of QuickBooksDesktop , then charge you moe for a so-caled upgrade, when it's basically the same program. Their subscription based model should be better since they are grabbing consumers money monthly, but not updating it.

Worst quickbooks app, no support

I downloaded QuickBooksDesktop hoping that I can scan receipts, I log in and there there is duplicate company names. I called quickbooks and ask for help removing these duplicate company names, no help but run around and apologies. I have one one company quickbooks desktop, but the iOS receipt app shows 3 names of the same company name and asks me to choose one or switch to one company to another. It’s a garbage.

Changing business name

I tried hard to just change the business name and keep everything else as it is , I can’t because QuickBooksDesktop won’t allowing you and every time i sign up with same login it will take me back to the old account, makes me so frustrated. It’s not flexible at all. I hope they will be able to change it to better deal.

Disappointed

I’m having the same problem as other people have stated. I can’t login to QuickBooks desktop and it won’t connect with QuickBooks online. I am the owner of my business with administrative access. Has made running my business difficult. Not only that, but the subscription is confusing. Keeps asking me to pay more when I’m already subscribed. Getting help through customer support is frustrating.

Scanning is a joke

You now MUST use your phone to attach a document which takes over 5 min for each doc to show up on the desktop to attach. VERY time consuming at utter bull crap. If I could burn this part of Quickbooks I would. Whomever thought it was a good idea to get rid of the traditional attaching a document application is an idiot and I have a few choice words. Thank you for wasting countless minutes of my day and making my job 10x harder.

Please Fix!

Your recent update is worse, no improvement on the scanning. QuickBooksDesktop pales in comparison to Adobe Scan. If I could upload the receipts from that app to my QuickBooks account I would. QuickBooksDesktop takes so much time to crop I could have five receipts cropped and uploaded with Adobe scan. Then, as others have said, I can’t load my CC as a card. I have to label it as a bank account. Come on! You are an accounting software! As much as you charge for this, fix the issues already!

Quickbooks is become a failure

I don't know what happened, if they were taken over or they went with a cheap oversees labor force because QuickBooksDesktop has went nothing but downhill since their "update" from a year or two ago. Always glitches, can't get to old invoices before the update in the search, search options don't even have a "unpaid" search option, their call in help is useless", this Mac app is worse than the mobile version.

Receipt Management Doesn’t Work

I snapped a receipt with QuickBooksDesktop and delightedly found the item in receipt management, but have yet to be able to “create” the transaction. Even spending time making sure an appropriate vendor exists and no special characters are used yielded a “transaction creation failed” message. The problem is apparently pervasive looking at forums online. It seems weird that Intuit would invest the time creating the seeming useful tool and utterly fail to insure that it works (successfully creates transactions.)

Not ok anymore

This used to work ok but it was updated in September to be able to upload documents too. Now QuickBooksDesktop camera doesn’t recognize the edges of the cc receipts. This means I get a big picture of hitch is hard to read. They also got rid of the ability to use my scanner from within the desktop program to upload documents to my files so I have to rely on spotty cell service which is really slow and inconsistent.

Not a happy camper at all. Spending twice as much time now to do the same work.

No Camera Access

The new update doesn’t allow for camera access! Clearly a bug. I was able to login to my account and see my companies. After selecting “snap” to take a picture of a receipt a message popped up “Allow access to Photos”. I went into my iPhone settings for QuickBooksDesktop , QuickBooks Desktop’ and found no switch or buttons to allow access to either my camera nor photos. I then when into my photos app and looked for apps that request access. QuickBooks Desktop was not listed. It appears QuickBooks Desktop is not ask for access nor provides a way to allow access. I’ve used the older version for roughly a year and have had great success but this update is not good.

This is messed up

My company is listed three times on QuickBooksDesktop and then there’s a company that I’m not even associated with this listed on QuickBooksDesktop when I go to select my company. It’s ridiculous. I’ve called several times and it’s still not resolved.

Why are my companies listed 2 & 3 times?!

I would LOVE to use QuickBooksDesktop. I think it might be exactly what I need (I’ll even tolerate signing out & in for each company). I downloaded QuickBooksDesktop , signed in, and Shazam! All my companies were loaded - yay! But several of my companies are listed 2 & 3 times. Why? How do I fix it? I don’t want to spread receipts into 3 different accounts for the same company and confuse everyone. And there is no support to help me.

Semi-functional

The snap a receipt seems to work which is a timesaver, however the mileage app is somewhat pointless for my needs. If you have to stop and enter the starting location and then the ending location then why not just start the trip meter in the vehicle and record the mileage at the end of the day. It would be also hard to record service calls where the starting and stopping point is the same and the customer(s) are somewhere in the loop. We can hope that Quickbooks will continue to improve this feature till it’s actually functional for a service based company.

Is there a new version I should download?

I love QuickBooksDesktop…. Until.. a couple years ago and the scan tool for receipts stopped working. Then is sort of word enough for the user to be hopeful “it might work this time?” And I end up cropping it anyway.
Otherwise, it’s great to have and it recognizes most of the digits and so on.
Please, if there’s a way to get the receipt recognition back, I would very much enjoy using this again. I use a dark background and good lighting. Nothing seems to help.

Finally it’s working properly

Got fed up w the slow and unreliable emailing in of receipts so tried this again after some years and they fixed the bug where your company shows up many times.

App has smart recognition so the documents are properly cropped (on a contrasting background) and bam they appear in QB desktop immediately.

My lagging emailed ones were still pending processing. I’m guessing maybe QuickBooksDesktop preprocessing things before sending IDK.

I just wish the save button wasn’t behind the keyboard tou have to awkwardly scroll to submit but I can deal with it for now.

Sole Proprietor Farm Business

I have just discovered this AMAZING mobile application!!Words can’t adequately express my excitement and satisfaction with it. I don’t often take the time to write application reviews, but felt compelled to write this one so that others could benefit from the exceptional value provided by QuickBooksDesktop. I have been using QuickBooks desktop since 1998 and have done all my own bookkeeping, accounting, and tax work using Intuit software products. I recently struggled with the amount of money that I’m paying Intuit each year for my desktop Enterprise subscription. After downloading and using this application for the first time today, I now understand why I am fully justified in paying the annual fees that I pay for my QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise subscription.

You are really missing out if you are not taking advantage of this application!

The ease and speed of recording thousands of transactions, in a way that results in high accuracy via amazing AI and OCR capabilities is invaluable. Additionally QuickBooksDesktop often automatically and appropriately codes the corresponding checking account register or credit card expense entries into the appropriate accounts (including splits) and to the correct vendor within my existing lists. Lastly, each check or credit card entry is linked to its corresponding receipt or invoice image providing exceptional auditabilty / traceability. Thank you QuickBooks developers for this amazing app.
