I used the old app to manage my kids’ accounts as well as my own, and the new app (and the web page) make this really difficult. At least my web browser remembers all our library card numbers, but CincyLibrary doesn’t do that, so I have to go dig up that information every time I want to switch between accounts. I wish this had the same functionality as the Libby app, where it simply asks you what card you want to use put things on hold.
I also wish it would maintain filter settings. Ex: I use Libby/Overdrive for eBooks, so I only want CincyLibrary to display search results for physical copies, not digital. And with Libby, I can set a search filters for Juvenile books, and it will keep that filter setting until I change it.
What the heck!

CincyLibrary is ridiculous! Its made more for a cell phone than for a tablet. No option to change how it appears on screen - either too small or too large. What are you guys thinking?
Old app better

The old app worked better on my iPad than this. Music search is poor.
No Improvement

by Yesterdayinnewyork
Previous app had a more intuitive UI and quicker to get to desired functions.
I want the old app back. It was so easy to use. Need to be able to link all cards to one account. I don’t care that you can review books just want to use CincyLibrary like the card catalog, put books on hold, and be able to renew books. PLEASE FIX CincyLibrary. I’m not the only person requesting that you be able to link accounts. Please listen to your customers!
Bad

The new developer of CincyLibrary needs to find a new vocation. It used to work fine, why would anyone making these decisions put out an app that is clearly worse? I can’t comprehend a person approving this garbage over the last app. It’s astonishing. What a waste of the library’s money and our time. Delete this and bring back the old app back please
Won’t load. Ever.

No. It’s not your imagination or your wifi. CincyLibrary is useless. Searches go on… and on… never to end. Just get on the website.
Terrible update
2023-03-03
by Tasked Fan
Why do places feel like they have to update their apps when they are working perfectly fine? I hate this update and may use the library less because this is hard to navigate. Also, as someone else said, how do I see my son’s account now? Did you actually test this with users????
Caution: Inappropriate content
2023-04-01
by Starlight_7
There are constantly inappropriate books and audiobooks suggested right at the top of the main screen. Not suitable for children or teens to use.
Not an improvement. New logo does not show up as designed on app page. Font too large and childish looking. Slow with several circles before page appears. Site appearing length-wise instead of width-wise. Preferred old app.
Suddenly I can’t log in

I don’t know what happened but suddenly I can’t login on the mobile app. It tells me that my username or password is invalid even though I am using the same exact credentials to login online. This doesn’t make any sense and I NEED the mobile app. Help please!
Not intuitive.

The old app was easier to navigate. This version seems to have been designed by someone who lacked familiarity with the library.
Self Checkout Removed????

Why remove self checkout during Covid? Makes no sense. New app looks nice but without self checkout....2 stars
Awful

2 stars simply because it exists and you can still place a hold. In every other respect I really dislike CincyLibrary. Bring back our loved functional previous app-the red one.
The new app doesn’t give important details such as page numbers because CincyLibrary is not compatible with iPhones. Go back to the old red and white app.
Inferior to the app it replaced

It will be hard to maintain the ”#1 Library” status with CincyLibrary. The older app was simple, clear, and provided every function needed from a public library app. CincyLibrary is none of those things.
Bring back the old app

I use the Library app frequently and have tried to get accustomed to the new app. I still am not comfortable with it. It feels awkward even after a couple of months. I especially dislike that it won’t rotate to landscape view. Bring back the old app!
No option to add multiple cards
2024-01-10
by Mandy OSU
I have 2 library cards and I had to create a separate account for each card and log in and out to see what is on each account. That is way too clunky. I preferred the functionality of the old app that allowed you to toggle between cards within 1 login account. Please fix this!
Can’t add other cards

While CincyLibrary is much improved in ease of use, navigation and the interface in general, it doesn’t not allow the basic option to add another card. This feature is very valuable when trying to monitor holds as return dates for kids and other family members, or to pickup the whole families holds.
CincyLibrary is so great and let’s you do all the things you’d want to do on your phone! You can create reading lists, place books on hold, and has a great search feature. You can see which books you have checked out and the due dates, your books on hold, and any fees. There’s also really great book lists by librarian. Such a great app for the library.
