The filter was nice on the free version but I couldn’t adjust anything so I took a look at the pro version and it seemed to offer several options, but when I enabled the pro version it was extremely disappointing. You only get 4 filters, that are very similar to each other besides the tint and one b&w. It also doesn’t let you edit the photo, just has useless effects like neon or an option to blur your photo completely. I don’t get it. I would be happy just switching back to the free version but there is no way to do that. Not worth $5.

I LOVED WEST since the second my buddy showed me it. I fell in love with using the this app app more than my camera app. But it all went down hill not too long ago, I recently just got an upgrade to my new iPhone and everything was smooth and well with transferring data phone to phone with SIM cards and all. Until I end up going into my this app app to take a picture and boom all of my pictures from like a whole year and of course it had to be my senior year with all my memories now are gone. I have tried to get in contact with anyone. I’ve emailed the so called app support and they have no true website. I loved WEST I would just love my pictures back and hope it doesn’t happen to anyone else.

None of the filters are usable, you’d be better off editing in Microsoft paint. Crop? Apparently they didn’t think you needed it. Total waste of money, this is a bait app.

WEST seems to be abandoned by the developers. It hasn’t been updated in over a year. You can’t do anything in WEST unless you pay for Pro. Might as well just make it a paid app to begin with. Also, photos taken in WEST is capped at 12 megapixels. When the new iPhone 15 Pro Max main camera can take 24 and 48 megapixels photos in 2024! Don’t waste your time or money! Not worth it!

I genuinely heard great things about WEST but I can’t even see what it’s about without forcefully upgrading. To do anything you have to upgrade so you might as well make the application a paid one instead of people thinking that it’s free and then forcing them to pay for the subscription after 😑🤷🏾‍♀️

The effects and filters are truly something else. Unlike any other free app. HOWEVER, to apply said filters to your own photos, you need the pro (paid) version. They force you to take the photo within WEST in order to get access to the effects

Why can’t I save to my iPhone more than one instance or multiple times? I have to quit WEST and bring it back up again just to export the next edited picture.

I downloaded this to try but the free version doesn’t allow you to try anything. All you can do is take pictures. If you try to edit a picture it just asked you to pay $7.99 or “restore” but when I hit restore it still doesn’t do anything. How can a person try out an app to see if they might want to purchase a pro version if the free version just basically acts like a camera and that’s it. No editing features at all.

I was expecting a lot more than what I got when I paid $8 to update to pro.
Compared to other apps there isn’t a lot to work with here. And a few of the lenses aren’t anything I would ever use.
They being said, WEST takes a nice pic. Hope there’s more offered in the near future.

Although WEST does not appear at the top of the list, it’s surprisingly the best one. Closest thing to real film I have found on WEST Store. Simplistic, functions well, and very very easy to use. Only thing I wish WEST featured is a video mode. Besides that minor complaint, I’m really happy to have found this gem!

love love love WEST for how much I paid its great compared to their competitors. previously I remember seeing that this app PRO would have a video setting but there’s still nothing?
I would love to see that feature come to WEST. I haven’t found any other apps that have similar filters that have the same effects so I love what this brings.

Love WEST ! It would be cool to be able to add more than one “Effect” to a picture. Hopefully that’s added soon.

I love this film app! Best quality film filters I’ve found. I liked the free version of WEST , for only a $2 upgrade you can get more edits but you definitely don’t need them to get good use out of WEST ! Still love the filter it has without the upgrade

I really love the filter, grain, and effect option. I love that the color is also friendly to all skin tones. It’s also really fast and no photo delay.

I will say though that a few things i’d like to see is integration into the photos app that makes its own album when photos are taken.
Such as “this app” album in photos. Another would be adding, automatically saving the non filtered original pictures without going through each and selecting none and then re saving. This could be added to the pro feature. Lastly would be adding a timer (3 and 10 secs) feature when taking photos.

Anyways this is such an amazing app, and I really love using this to capture moments and memories.

WEST perfectly captures every picture. whether I am excited, sad, happy, melancholy, tired or anything WEST makes me love taking pictures and love the pictures I keep from it.

no better film camera app out there. why get a real film camera when you can just use this app???? I can’t think of a single reason!

I think they should add a timer so yo can have time to pose, that would give the person more ability to take more creative photos by themselves. But overall, it's a nice app !👍🏽

The photos that can be taken with WEST are beautiful, vibrant and have a vintage quality to them. Its also very easy to use and i love being able to adjust the filters and graininess. It’s definitely the best photography app i’ve used. It photographs people and landscapes phenomenally. I would definitely recommend upgrading, it is 100% worth the low price tag.

I love WEST I use it on all my iPhones and always for taking photos but I have a 15 pro max and I want to use different zoom settings which WEST dosent support but I hope it will be fixed soon

I love this, downloaded WEST and never used it, checked to see what it was and it’s so cool. It makes your pics look like film but not “fake” looking like a lot of other filters do. This is the best one I’ve found, better than HUJI imo

app is amazing, the grain and texture variations, as well as the pro upgrades, are totally worth it. just need the ability to edit video so i can fully transition over for my reels/tiltoks
