UNIVERSE is an app that provides exclusive content, community, and event information related to global artists and partnership content. The app offers a special space to communicate with the artist, original content updated every day, and exclusive online and offline events. UNIVERSE also shares its profits with the artists.
So I know that UNIVERSE has just been released but there are a large number of bugs and glitches within it. The mini-player, for example, is not aligned where it supposedly should be and I keep getting error messages every few seconds when I try to watch something. There is also no controls for subtitles and quality. UNIVERSE as a whole is well thought out and the concept is good but when I try to earn achievements, such as the writer one, it doesn’t register that I have liked and commented on the posts.
I am also currently unable to log in to UNIVERSE due to the error message popping up and saying that my network isn’t stable. My network is perfectly fine though. (Other people are having the same issue too)
I’m going to assume the slowness and glitches are from the servers being overloaded but I’m a bit bummed out that it’s not letting me in.
Anyways, I see a lot of room for growth in UNIVERSE and I’m excited to see how it is completely finished and fine tuned.

At first when UNIVERSE was downloaded it ran very smoothly and was pretty fast. The concept was cool and seemed promising. But right after I signed in and created a nickname for a planet, it suddenly just crashed and it didn’t work even when I had restarted UNIVERSE . The first time I deleted UNIVERSE and reinstalled it, UNIVERSE actually worked but again, it crashed right after I’d finished singing up for a planet. And that was the second, and last time I got UNIVERSE working, but even so, it only lasted for a few minutes. It had so much potential but many bugs, and I didn’t get the chance to experience UNIVERSE fully since it keeps crashing over and over again. It has been a month now and the problem is still there, and this time I couldn’t even get pass the home screen of UNIVERSE . Honestly, I really liked UNIVERSE and was excited to try but was met with disappointment. I’m looking forward to the time when UNIVERSE is fully developed and fixed so that the users can fully enjoy it without worrying about it crashing, lagging, or like me, who can’t even use UNIVERSE .

The voice call is pre-recorded no matter what time you choose or what greeting it's recorded doesn't feel special at all & the text msg I texted many times & didn't get a reply for 2 weeks now don't think I'll get a reply! Will never buy again such a waste of money & the content you have to buy isn't to die for you can find better for free on all SM platforms! Also UNIVERSE keeps lagging & crashing and takes ages to startup ??? We're in 2021 and it's called this app!! It should be called slow-motion or backward! Update: I finally got a reply after all this time from my artist & felt so special just to realize that it's another lie & I'm so embarrassed bragging about it... so the text reply you get is sent to everyone who subscribed & chose the same idol for example if you chose idol A for text msg you'll get a reply but so everyone else who chose him & the text is sent same time same exact text! so if you're fine with it go for it, done with UNIVERSE 👎🏻

I remember the day this was announced. I signed up to be notified when it was released. I didn’t have the storage then, but I do now. I’m disappointed. The EXTREME lag throughout UNIVERSE is something that should’ve been addressed prior to launch. There’s no feedback section even in UNIVERSE so you can contact them directly. UNIVERSE is buggy beyond belief. I actually waited for this. I regret every minute. I shouldn’t have this bad of an experience with an app, made for fans. If UNIVERSE is gonna take up gigabytes on a person’s phone, make sure QUALITY and FUNCTIONALITY are your top priority. This is not what I signed up for.
Fans from various fandoms were highly anticipating UNIVERSE; however, the grand opening of UNIVERSE was just very underwhelming and could be so much better. It is very slow and confusing to use in that there is a limited amount of posts you can see from your favorite artists and other users. In addition, the english is not translated to its fullest capacity at times and there are so many error pop-ups that ruin the fun of UNIVERSE . The hashtags really don’t work as well and I would also personally get rid of the speech from artist and animated characters (in my opinion, it is really creepy and gateways some fans into becoming serious saesangs).
I honestly feel like this app is trying to compete with other “fan-friendly apps” in a sense such as Vlive and Weverse. If it really wanted to do that, I recommend UNIVERSE makers to make some major changes. There is great potential for UNIVERSE . These things just need to be fixed ASAP.

UNIVERSE first of all is laggy. Second: it is not fully translated, so some of the stuff is in English, but a lot of it is in Korean, and I don’t understand Korean. Third: I saw a post explaining what type of data UNIVERSE collects from you, and it’s a lot. Like A LOT a lot. Is this true?? Because if so, what are you planning on doing with my data you collect outside of UNIVERSE such as text messages and browser history?? A reminder to everyone: always read the terms and conditions, I know it’s a bit lengthy sometimes, but it’s worth it. And fourth: why so much paid content?? I know you have to put some in there to get the features like calling the AI versions of the idols, and other stuff pertaining to the idols in general, but is there really a need to put so many of the clothes as paid currency?? I just feel like you shouldn’t have to pay real money to play dress up...

So I waited until I updated to make this review just to see if the problem I was having was fixed. UNIVERSE is very well made & I can tell a lot of effort, time and energy went into making it a success! But, I’ve made a few in app purchases for “loves” and “K” and never received them. The message showed up that I was all set after the purchase, I also received a notification on my Apple wallet that the money was taken, but did not receive what I paid for. It’s a bummer so I tried a few times to see if something was going wrong, just for all purchases to be the same way just taking the money and not receiving anything. Trying to see if I can get the money back but the Customer help section isn’t working lol hopefully this gets fixed! I’m not deleting UNIVERSE because I have hope for it! Just won’t be purchasing anything else lol

UNIVERSE finally started working for me, but then I (stupidly) did the update it requested I do this morning and now it not only logged me out, but it won’t let me log in. It keeps taking forever to load after I sign in and then it says it “timed out” and cancels the login attempt. Then I get a screen that says to “tap to enter” or something like that, but it won’t let me and I have to close and reopen UNIVERSE to even try again.
I really REALLY am annoyed. Not only am I missing things/updates from my groups, but I could lose the progress I’ve made (and I’m still paying my subscription). 😡
Private Message Errors aren’t being Fixed

It’s super annoying because the private messages won’t display correctly: I understand a refresh is needed, but the translations don’t match up post-refresh and majority of the time, previous messages you already read/translated are the ones that show up again once you refresh the messages. I’ve reached out to support about this twice now and got an automated response saying that I submitted tickets re: improving UNIVERSE which isn’t wrong, but these are clearly bugs. Everything else seems to work for the most part, but why this very important part of UNIVERSE won’t be fixed, I don’t understand. If not for this feature, I probably would have never downloaded UNIVERSE .
I was happy to get in touch with my artists through UNIVERSE as a new platform. There were more new ways to keep in touch with my boys but .. B U T .. it uses so much data and take soooooooo much time to use x( I used my money, subscribed for membership, followed everything it told me (to give my money) yetttttt I cannot watch the contents since it is toooooo slow to finish watching a video. (Sometimes, the application itself cannot run on my iph so I have to delete and download again). This is so suffocating when you buy a content and pay for membership but you can't watch them. I hope I can watch them as videos You Tube (Gosh, this will not even happen). this app is taking money but working too less to pay back for that money.

I just wanted UNIVERSE so I can keep up with The boyz, but when I try to even use it it just gives me a pop-up message that says “ we are sorry for any inconvenience to you”. Which is really annoying because I can’t even get into UNIVERSE . I downloaded it anyways even after reading all of the horrible reviews that UNIVERSE has just to see if I could possibly get it to work so I can see what everyone else was talking about but I couldn’t even get farther than the start screen. I even tried using it on both my iPad and my phone and it still didn’t work. I was really excited for UNIVERSE to come out and I have been waiting for it and this is kind of disappointing to see.

ive only been using UNIVERSE for a few days and i’ve run into so many issues. first off UNIVERSE is extremely glitchy, from my fns page freaking out to things just not loading (loading times are another huge issue), and sometimes screens take up to 5 minutes to load. Also not to mention the error messages i keep getting for poor connection when my internet is working just fine. The biggest issue i have is my missions glitching, i have completed all my missions for the day yet still cannot claim my klaps! it’s frustrating cause these are timed events and i don’t want to miss out on klaps i technically already should have. All in all UNIVERSE needs a lotttt of work if they want people to keep using it, it’s downright frustrating

I have been using UNIVERSE for a while now and to be honest, I kind of like but also hate it. It is really slow and lagging. I thought that this problem would go away but it is still there. I would assume that it is because there are so many users on UNIVERSE that it tends to be slow, but there are many apps that have more users than this one that are working at a decent pace.
Overall, I love keeping up with my idols and watching them have fun. Thank you for creating UNIVERSE.

The private messages and artist sns of UNIVERSE are the funnest things but they are not even enjoyable with how slow UNIVERSE runs and how clunky everything feels. Also, one incredibly hard feature of the private messages is trying to backread. If you wake up to 100 messages from someone, rip you because you can only backread so far before it starts repeating the messages. Then you have to exit the messages, go back in, scroll up and find your place, and repeat this process over and over. It makes it really frustrating to try and read anything.
It always takes a long time to open UNIVERSE . I paid for tickets to get private messages but most of the time it takes so long to open UNIVERSE I give up and have to try again another time. This personally totally defeats the purpose, as I want to see the messages in real time. I won’t be subscribing for another month. It also sometimes freezes and lags. I really hope some improvements will be made but it seems people are always making complaints and changes are never made…

Let me start by saying I love UNIVERSE. I love the fact that you can connect with your favorite idols and have access to custom content. However, I wish that when you selected a message from an artist you could see what message they are replying to instead of having a completely out of context message from one side of a conversation. The other thing I wish was improved was that’s an international fan, I have to translate each message individually. It would be nice if you could Google translate all messages in a chat, like you can on webpages.

I pre-downloaded UNIVERSE when we were able to so once it downloaded I was all set to explore. When I was finally able to open UNIVERSE there were major issues like lagging and so on. Since the first day there has been many updates and improvements. I like that user feedback is being listened to. Now for the issues with UNIVERSE I would say there is still some lagging but it doesn’t do it as much as it did the first couple of days. I’m trying to complete missions but some of them I am unable to complete. For one mission you have to purchase Love’s for the first time. I have purchased them like three times and I haven’t gotten my credit for completing it. The other mission is to link your YES24 account but as a foreigner I can only use global YES24 and there is no option to link my global account. I tried with YES24 that’s specifically for Korea and it didn’t work. I would really like to link my global account so I can complete my mission. And the last thing is that when I’m scrolling the FNS page and I get to the bottom of the page it takes me back to the top of the page. I would like to scroll freely like I do on other social media accounts. I would have rated UNIVERSE higher if it wasn’t for those issues.

-transitions between different pages and tabs are a little slow (I’ll give the benefit of the doubt due to it just being released though) -notifications tab for fns posts is not exactly effective since you can’t interact with the notifications itself -definitely needs improvements in the comment sections on posts and being able to access them through the profiles without having to bookmark them —- Otherwise, I think UNIVERSE is fine despite the initial lag

I downloaded UNIVERSE because I am a huge fan of IZ*ONE, and UNIVERSE was promoted by them for their single D-D-DANCE (go stream it), and overall I thought UNIVERSE was pretty cool and had some great features. The interface was understandable, and the concept of different “planets” is cool. UNIVERSE also has a many different groups and artists, many more than I was expecting! Other than taking up a lot of storage on your phone, my biggest complaint is that UNIVERSE is kind of glitchy sometimes and gives me errors for no reason, which can be frustrating. There are some errors with words/spelling when UNIVERSE is used in English mode, but they are very minor and do not hinder the usability of UNIVERSE . Overall, UNIVERSE is promising!! And with time will only get better :)
There’s not much to say about UNIVERSE that isn't good, but I will definitely say that UNIVERSE is sometimes laggy and take a little long to load, and sometimes when i try to click on something, I have to click on it multiple times which is probably because of the lag..
I got UNIVERSE to support my faves and am able to - just with the minor setbacks I mentioned earlier!!
Anyways, it’s a good app and it doesn’t deserve any low reviews!! 💕

i think this is a great idea to connect idols to their fans and i understand that people got mad because of the bugs but honestly i don’t mind them, of course they’re very annoying but i’m pretty sure the team is working very hard to fix them and i’ve seen A LOT of improvements and updates which is amazing!
i do have a few suggestions though, maybe let the artists send voice notes/messages with the text and make them be able to change their profile pictures to whatever they want, maybe also if they’re a group we could pay for an extra subscription where we can talk to all the members all at once like a group chat where they also get to talk to each other and us their fans! i think it’d be pretty cool!
