Citizenship requirement to open a custodial account puts children of immigrants at a disadvantage

The concept behind LearnEarn is great and i think that teaching children financial literacy and investing is important. The fact that users are incentivized to continue learning and continue building their portfolio makes LearnEarn very valuable. The ONLY problem that i have with it is that in order to open the UTMA/UGMA custodial account, the parent MUST be citizen. I’ve opened a custodial account on TDameritrade without citizenship; simply by providing proof of permanent residency. Please address this issue as it puts children of immigrants at a disadvantage. Although LearnEarn can still be used as a learning tool, the main selling point is no longer applicable if the child is not able to invest. I also noticed that there are class codes implemented. If there was a child who enrolled with a certain class who didn’t have parents that were citizens, then they wouldn’t be able to utilize the application like their fellow classmates. I suggest that this is looked into further by developers. Thanks!

Mixed feelings

I downloaded LearnEarn before considering sharing it with individual with kids.

Pros:

- It’s game-based. Perfect for kids or people with my need to get chievos.
- practical information. It’s stuff I learned in my investment classes in high school most kids don’t know today.
- broad range of topics.
- fast.
- You can actually choose some stocks they’ll put money towards.
- designed to be “safe” investing

Cons:

- it is not truly free. This is an investment app and with that comes taxes.
- not all stocks are available. Nvidia? Yes (potential hot stock) QYLD with MONTHLY dividends? Nope. Moderna? (to profit off that 3rd booster) nope. So some stocks and funds that could add serious boosters to your portfolio aren’t there.
- points are useless after the first day. The rewards keep showing “check back later.” Problem is, if there is no incentive to keep going, kids will stop. That’s why many games die out.
- no crypto. I personally see that as a con when there is an article about crypto in their bank. At least try to make Dogecoin available.

It has potential and maybe the student side is better. But for now, it needs some tweaking on the “rewards” end to keep students interested.

Honestly

It’s a good app. I’m learning a lot already. And I just started this morning. Only issue is it used plaid as the bank finder and for some reason is having connection issues with my bank provider. Which is current bank but choice financial group. But if you have a good bank and it can be used on LearnEarn I say do it. And do it fast because LearnEarn is a really good educational tool. So I rated it 5 stars good job.

Hard to press continue

I like the concept of LearnEarn but whenever i learn something it gets so difficult to press the continue button after i answered the question ( i use 7 plus so i think thats the problem). But anyway, I love LearnEarn and I deserves to get more attention.

A great app

I’m really enjoying LearnEarn. And I love that I’m learning and having fun at the same time. Some of the multiple choice answers are so hilarious I can’t help but laugh and I love that, because it makes it exciting. Whoever came up with LearnEarn I love them and I love the person with all the answers and sense of humor. Thank you for sharing and have a happy Tuesday 😊

Withdrawal Funds?

I have had LearnEarn for a little now and I’m just wondering if there’s any way I can withdrawal the money I have invested after its increased. Not saying it’s a smart idea just wondering if it’s possible.

It’s a bit addicting

The compulsion isn’t why LearnEarn deserves 2 stars.
1. A minimum balance of $10 must remain in your account to withdraw anything. Essentially LearnEarn cost is $10 if there is no withdrawal if total funds. 2. Then there is the type-o’s. This is supposed to be an education application and I have found too many errors to count.
3. Where did all the reward redemption options go to?

Interesting

I highly enjoy the different courses you can take especially in the form of a quiz! I like the fact that you get another chance to answer a question correctly if you didn’t the first the time. Also, it encourages me to keep learning with there being a point incentive.

The best way to make a little extra money

It’s all in the name. Learning something new and get a little money out of it. Pretty easy. The courses are short, really short, like 10 questions. I enjoy it.

Does not work when connecting to bank.

Sends me on an endless loop of a button that says “connect bank account” no matter how many times I go to my bank app and authorize the comnection. Saw a review from almost a month ago with same problems. Seems they haven’t fixed it. Do not recommend

No ways to redeem points

I like LearnEarn and have made a lot of points doing quizzes but LearnEarn doesn’t offer many ways to redeem these points, rendering it basically worthless. Haven’t used in weeks as there’s nothing to do but do quizzes

real money?

I’ve been using LearnEarn for almost 3 days. Made over $70 from answering questions. Is this real money?? Can I transfer it to my bank? But so far LearnEarn is cool and fun

Help

So I can’t find out how to do the parent verification thing, could u please give step by step instructions.

By

Problems signing in

When I fill the application says that there was a problem with my application, and doesn’t say what is the specific problem I tried a lot of times fixing and writing it again and nothing happened, they don’t even have a customer service to help in that case

Learn

Does it allow you to put the money you earn in your actual bank account?

By

Point Shop?

They updated to a point system, completely screwing people over, and there’s no points store to redeem the points. No instruction, just random points being added up that do nothing; it’s definitely considered false advertising at this point since they don’t update their application description.

No Point Marketplace
