Ambients Reviews

• Bought on a whim, but sound tracks are only 8-9 minutes each.

• Effectiveness of sound-loops can be increased dramatically if they used at least 20-minute long loops (or longer), because people start remembering song patterns, especially for short songs.

• Also, songs should not have particularly recognizable portions of audio, otherwise it kills any effectiveness of the looping. Just increase length of track to 30 minutes or longer to avoid this issue. Or have an audio engineer mix and remix the audio — you can easily create an unrecognizable 30+ minute loop out of splices of a full 10 minute loop....

• I don’t know why more soundscape apps don’t have longer tracks. We don’t need more tracks, we just need *longer* tracks per track.

• Other Quality of life issues:

1) On ipad, can’t move Ambients into a split-screen panel frame on the left or right or hidden drawer panel; only full-screen is enabled.

2) Can’t hide the track progress bar on the bottom or current time of track. Annoying for those who want to keep Ambients focused on the screen, since may start mapping track timings to audio patterns or get unfocused because keep watching the timer bar getting close to the end.

3) At least have an audio engineer mix the end of each track so that when it loops back, you don’t have to fade the audio in and out and its just a seamless loop of audio.

If i could cast this to an echo or google home device, I would buy all the sounds and give it 5 stars. But not worth it to only play through phone or headphones.

Attractive, nice ambient sound app. A few odd things: there is a progress line for the ambient track playing, but no control for moving forward/back - minor quibble, but confusing. Why is it there if not for control? I’d think focusing on the position of the track would be antithetical to the purpose, which is to be able to do other stuff with this in the background?

I also quickly noticed that all three included tracks have the same base white sound to them with thematic elements (spoon on a teacup; distant honking horn) peppered in. Not sure if that’s good or bad, but it’s stood out quickly. (Also, to be fair, I’m not using headphones right now, so my iPad speakers may not be reproducing all of the details here.)

Last, a suggestion: for the unpurchased “locked“ soundscapes, perhaps include a 10 second sample clip for each? Certainly not enough to be “giving it away“, but enough to be able to hear what’s different about it from the others, to learn if someone wants to buy them or not.

I miss the days(already) of the sense of freedom to spontaneously go to public locations without the worry of where my mask is. At least during COVID lockdowns, I am able to simulate those environments with the HD quality background of the days that once was.
4/5 stars as I hoped to also have more environmental backgrounds like maybe sporting events or rainfall/thunder under different rooftops(barn, car, jungle)

Ambients is great especially during these times , it needs more sounds but most definitely a good app

Love listening to this while working!

Long enough to not notice loops.
Great for helping the isolated re-create social settings.

I love it and I have a great one for you the developers! How about this. Maybe I want it cause I’ve never been and just wanna hear it... I hear it in every movie that has a scene shot at near or on the famous ice skating rink in New York. It is definitely relaxing and it is a much different sound than people cars water whales or any other! It is it’s own very unique sound of the skaters sliding and slapping over the top of hard packed ice with freshly sharpened rental skates. and the innocent laughter of children and happy and warming sound of new and old friends talking and laughing and singles mingling and meeting other singles and the sound of there nervous and vulnerable laughter. Anyways. I believe it would set your app aside and more so, on top, of the charts and other apps!!! No other has it!!!

Great app to use if you need some background noise while studying! :)

I enjoyed all the sounds, especially the theme park crowds. But I fell asleep to the coffee shop.

I use Ambients to quiet my mind and help me fall asleep. I absolutely love it! Great interface and easy to use!

For me Ambients has move to the top of the list of soundscape apps. Two sounds I hope will be added,ambient passenger train and horse and carriage.

Easy to use interface with quality audio!

Listen via your headphones or EarPods or connect to your surround and play lightly in the background. A sound for everyone though and well created. Great work!

Ambients has been transformative! It’s great while working from home to keep me focused as well as at the end of day to wind down, keep the sounds coming!

Really love Ambients and the way it gives you a genuine sound that puts you in the atmosphere! I love using it when I’m reading or even going to bed!

I would love a forest or woodsy outdoor sound too! I just moved from a very forest/woods filled state to a beach state and I would love to hear some of those earthy tones again!

First I just want to say that this is a great app! Especially since they made all of the tracks available to everyone. One thing I wish there could be is a sleep timer of some sort. I’ve seen it on other apps, and I feel like it would just be so useful.

As a disabled person I love the way your app, when I close my eyes, virtually transports me back into life and around the world... It’s relaxing and fun! More! PLEASE!!!
More places (cities, markets, rainforests, remote beaches), lots of unique weather options (thunderstorms, etc...), fictional fun (ambient star trek bridge sounds), I’m sure you’ve got plenty of ideas so I’ll stop... But this medium is as transformative as a book, a movie, or a performance — love this idea! :)

I paid the full amount and get the error from google saying that I can’t play the sound. 🥺

It’s great just needs more free audios but it’s great

I bought all audio tracks but I can‘t download them.
