GELABS - Effects & Guitar Amps Reviews

Gives the Helix a run for it’s money! I bought an HX Stomp a few weeks ago (trying to downsize after selling my Helix Floor). Tonight, I’m surfing Facebook and see the ad for GE Labs. I was intrigued by the video demo so I decided to download GELABS .

Coming from years of using Positive Grid apps, I was not expecting GELABS to be much better. I’m absolutely blown away and stand corrected. I dialed up a “Dr Z” amp with some comp, mild drive, and some verb. I’m left a little disappointed that I bought the HX Stomp before getting to try GE Labs.

I’m reconsidering my rig that I’m actually in the process of building! This runs smooth as butter on my iPad Pro with about 10-15% cpu usage.

First, Thank you for making GELABS free, it’s great. This can be my new go to app, but no AudioBus support limits me to only playing and not recording. AmpKit is my go to app to record on iOS. I also have AmpliTube, but prefer AmpKit tones, effects and usability. GELABS has a great clean sound that would make any recording sound good. And with all the amps, cabs and effects, it can surpass all the other apps in this category. Please consider adding AudioBus support.

First off, the presets aren’t bad; some of the MNRS profiles are absolutely amazing.

Now the bad news… I purchased the unlimited slots a while ago. I have tried to login on a new IPad for 2 days. I have contacted Mooer by email, website, and Facebook multiple times. The website has been intermittently unavailable or slow to load for several days. This is unfortunate since GELABS is actually a nice app. As long as you don’t need support it’s great.

This is an unbelievable app. It’s free though of course, there’s the catch of only being able to save one preset. You’ll soon be persuaded to spend some money on it to have more slots. Which is what I did and I’m so glad I did it. It sounds amazing. I have two main presets I use. One for heavy metal with roomy reverb and chorus and one for acoustic improvisation using an acoustic amp. I love it. And that pitch shifting pedal that allows me to tune my guitar digitally is amazing.

I love GELABS in every way, plenty of effects and amps to use. It just needs to be compatible with the iRig Blueboard and it would be perfect. Make it happen and I’ll give it another star! Thanks!

Intuitive,and the tones are pretty accurate IMO. Would like to see all the effects and preamps together for a tidier appearance though. The fact that you can try before you buy basically,is great. Have it set to lowest latency,and it’s spot on . 😁5 stars.

Can you guys add an effects loop so people that are running at least a two in/ four out interface could integrate outboard hardware. Also if there could be assignable outs to send to amp and cab/ mains. That would make the best sounding app even better.

GELABS has incredible tones but whenever I play a horrible clicky static type sound starts as well. I’ve tried adjusting the input and output volumes in GELABS and on my interface. Raising the latency helped a little but it’s still very noticeable. Hopefully the devs see this and can help me find a fix! Other than that I love the tones

The tones are awesome even the factory presets are really well done but some of them crackle and pop also can’t seem to get it to work with GarageBand is this something that will be available sometime?

Awesome product Moore! Right off the bat everything works and sounds great. The interface is highly intuitive and simple. Highly recommend it. Oh and excellent price....$0!

Best tone of the modelers I’ve used but occasionally crashes and plays a continuous loud buzzing noise until restarted. I can’t trust it for live playing until this gets resolved. I hope it does because the tone is so good otherwise.

I like the sound of GELABS, but i noticed that since the last update the audio is no longer in stereo when i have EQ Compensation enabled in the output section. Is this a bug or intended? I don’t remember this also happening with older versions.

Was working perfect on my IPad until last night, when trying to import new anything from the cloud, would lock up dead as soon as I pressed the “Download” button.

It does not fit the screen on an iPhone SE 2020. You cannot see the amp controls labels they are obscured by the effects below. Impossible to know what you’re adjusting

Really easy to use, sounds pretty good as well. Great for practicing and casual recording

I have a TC Helicon Go Guitar Pro USB/lightening audio interface and iPhone 8+ and I get constant crackle no matter the latency setting. Only iOS audio app that doesn’t work fine with this audio interface. I will revise my review if this is fixed, but until then GELABS is useless to me.

App looks great, but won’t run on my iPad at all. Even on the highest latency setting and nowhere near maxing out the cpu it’s still glitching and making digital sounds like my iPad is screaming in pain. I would love to see them clean this up and make it actually work.

While the tones it can provide are great, it is greatly overshadowed by a constant clicking noise whenever I play, making even the simplest of practices unbearable, only app that won't operate well

I have tried multiple times to sign up for the cloud to download user tones. It just gives an error of “Registr0”. Without access to the cloud, there is a limited number of presets.

Sounds great....and a welcome addition to the iOS guitar arsenal!
