Web Version Doesn't Work

Hi, I haven't used Reflection yet. I only downloaded it so I could leave this review, and the title says everything. Whenever I go to the website, doesn't matter which browser, it won't load.
Another review said this was Reflection to use and gave a list of reasons what was wrong with it. The short time I was able to use the Web version- I liked it and was looking forward to using it. For me, I thought I had found what I was looking for.
It seems most companies care more about their app than their websites, and that's a shame. I often prefer using a bigger screen, and a bigger keyboard. Especially if I know I have a lot to type. Please fix this and pay attention to the quality of your website. Not every person wants to use an app.

Elegant design, privacy-first approach?

Thank you for creating Reflection. I just downloaded it today and the thoughtful interface design really stands out!

In the FAQ (“Are my entries private and secure?”), it was helpful to know that journal entries are transmitted through SSL and encrypted when stored in your database. As mentioned in the FAQ though, no system is 100% safe from breaches. It’s neat that there is already some protection through anonymity/encryption, and it would be great to see Reflection take a privacy-first approach which avoids sending sensitive user-generated data in the first place if possible. Are there plans to do so in the future?

For example:

1. Journal entries - since this content isn’t needed for the mentioned use cases (“notifications, analytics, and customer support”), could you skip the trip to the external database and only keep the content locally on the device?

2. diagnostic data - have the device continue to send de-identified data (e.g., count of journal entries, length of each entry, indicator for whether a photo loaded successfully or not) which are needed for app development and customer support.

Thanks for considering!

Can you binge journal?

Ok, so I signed up this morning when I had a ton of free time. You know taking time to journal instead of cleaning my house as one does. Anyway, boy am I glad I did. I’ve done 21 reviews I believe they call them with the themes and categories and enjoying every minute of it. Ok, maybe it’s a little excessive. My ADHD is in hyper focus mode right now. Please don’t judge lol. However, everything aside, I can’t believe the extent it’s change my thinking in just a couple of hours. Yeah I do love this stuff; human behavior and the power of positive thinking and such. It’s really interesting to me. But I love it. I have a lot of self-awareness so I feel pretty confident in who I am, but this challenged me by introducing different ways of thinking and perspectives. Honestly think this might be the first review I’ve ever written about an app if that says anything. You do have to pay for the premium but you have a 7 day trial. Curious to see what the free addition will allow me to do. Probably minimal. But I’m definitely considering purchasing by the end of the week. Far more worth the money than half of the stupid stuff I spend my money on anyway. Excuse my babbling and candor. But yeah as they say on Clueless, because that was the era I grew up in, “two very enthusiastic thumbs up”. Enjoy beautiful people!

Never thought I would start journaling

For years, my role models have mentioned that they write often. It’s one of those things you can do to sort yourself out and clarify your thoughts, beliefs, values, goals, etc. I had put it off for so long but finally decided to give it a shot. Reflection has tons of prompts and guides that take the pressure away and make it easy. Only 3 days in but feeling really positive that I can make this a daily habit for the first time in my life.

Fantastic app

As a mental health therapist I’m always looking for new tools to help clients process their experience. I try each tool myself before recommending to anyone and this is by far my favorite so far. I like that it is web based as well. It’s easy to use and has fantastic prompts to help folks begin the writing process. I highly recommend Reflection for anyone looking to use writing as a tool to reflect or process their thoughts and experiences. Truly well done.

Perfect

I almost never leave reviews, but Reflection has been absolutely perfect for me. The prompts are thought provoking and relevant. I love that I can choose a Guide or just a quick prompt based on how much time I have. It’s simple but it gets it exactly right, from all the small details like look backs and the way it looks to the big important stuff like privacy and practicality. I can’t say enough positive things, please don’t change anything!

Best journaling app

I am obsessed with Reflection. The UI is simple and beautiful and leaves the focus on the writing. I love the inspirational / thought provoking quotes when your journal loads. I love the guides this app at the end of every month and year. I appreciate how few bells and whistles there are because it forces you to maintain simplicity which keeps the habit going. Great app! Looking forward to the desktop version and the security prompt on open feature for the mobile version.

Easy, fast and satisfying

I use Reflection to record brief reflections on my iPhone with the microphone button next to the space bar. Thanks to Reflection and Apple, my recordings are 90% (or more) accurate on first try, i.e., require little or no corrective editing. I also appreciate the categorizations offered for each this app as highlight, lowlight, or free-write, which make me stop and think for a few seconds about the nature of each recording. Reflection is highly useful and very satisfying.

finally get to it

I appreciate Reflection since i have been the start and stop type of journaler. i have tried templates and fancy leather bound books, but frequently fall off the wagon shortly after starting. The prompts in the free addition are thought provoking and have helped me keep going. I actually look forward to seeing what the daily question will be. I am a pretty self aware individual and this has helped me uncover even more knowledge of myself and my world view.

Found a Tool that Works

I’ve tried different variations on the consistent short journal construct and some have worked better than others - this actually works for me and I’ve been able to stick to it. I get the reminder sent at 2pm and it helps me set up my afternoon - and the whole “highlight/lowlight/free write” categorization works really well as I’ve had time during the day to work out how I feel. I haven’t delved into the monthly review yet - I keep trying to make time for it but don’t quite get there. I’m a fan!

Great Journal and supplement to a physical journal

I love this journal because they provide daily motivational quotes and prompts when I'm not sure what to write about.

I also had a problem deciding between writing in a physical journal for my therapist and writing other things in this digital journal. Then I realized I can use the this app journal as a backup for my physical journal entries as well.

Now, whenever I feel the want to write with pen and paper, I take a picture of the physical journal then upload it into the this app journal. I can also use the new iphone feature to grab text from an image then paste it into the this app journal app.

Their customer service is also really nice and accomodating. they helped me with my this app app premium subscription without any hassle.

It's overall a great app that I love using on my desktop or mobile. I can get my thoughts out and reduce my use of Twitter as my digital journal all the time {probably not, I love twitter} lol.

Smooth user experience

The Holstee this app app is where I jot down the many thoughts I have throughout the day about life, leadership, helping others, being the best person I can be, etc. By putting them in the this app app, I allow the thought to pass through my brain, and I can move on to the next thought.

The user interface lets me see a lot of my recent posts at a glance, so I can look over what I've been thinking about lately. It's also just so easy to use and easy to look at. It's my favorite app for recording my thoughts.

A New Year must have

I got this virtual journal because I always worry too much about the way my page looks when I'm writing. Like, screw the aesthetics! Let's get into what we really came here for. this app. I love the daily prompts and the monthly recaps. If you're really in a writing mood you can free write, get themed writing inspiration, or add to ones you already made. They have questions divided into sections about the mind, body, soul, etc. The tags to help keep track of your writing is so fun to use. I find myself looking forward to the time I spent Journaling with myself everyday and I've never been good at staying consistent. You can make a free account to access your journal on multiple devices. Plus, I haven't encountered a pay wall yet. Reflection gets 5 stars from me!

Looking for a way to start journaling?

Reflection is great. I recently started journaling and I do like to actually write in my journals but it's nice to switch it up sometimes and type instead. At least I really like to do that. I love the layout, the theme, the prompts. I don't know about y'all but when I used to think about writing, I would panic because I had no idea where to start.. I would think I needed to start the way I would begin a high school essay or english paper, every. single. time. Wasn't until recently, I decided to break that habit and free write. Reflection defintely helped me do that.

Great app for the journaling space

Journaling apps are a little congested these days. this app is different. It has a beautiful UI that makes me WANT to open it up. The layout and the themes are awesome, and clean. I’m personally making it my manifestation journal, and writing down all that is to be. I just downloaded Reflection today and am very pleased. I plan to purchase the premium to get the full experience, however there is more than enough for free to keep you going. There’s also a section of workspaces and articles to help with personal development. I recommend downloading it and seeing for yourself.

Making sense of my experience

I started using this app recently, thinking journaling would help me to cope with a divorce. I have been surprised at how much it has helped. I do know things about myself, but the knowledge is stored in the junk drawer of my mind, making it hard to find useful insight in the chaos and disorganization. Writing it out is sort of like Marie Kondo-ing my brain, not so much to discard the parts that don’t bring joy, but to order it in such a way that it is comprehensible. There actually are insights in there for the finding, but also insights that present themselves in the process of creating a narrative. Thanks for your help with my journey.

Love it

The this app app was just what I needed. I once bought a beautiful journal that had daily motivations and while moving homes I misplaced it. I cannot remember the store I bought it. This this app App is the best app I found now my search is over. The best part is the daily journal guides. It focuses your mind and allows journaling to be fun while being specific. They say when you pray be specific. I say the same journaling to me is writing my prayers specificity is necessary. In addition the free limited version without any pressure from a trial is welcome. That said I’m sure I will subscribe to the unlimited version soon because I can’t wait to experience more and more.
I just love the this app App

Set Sail!

I journal so that my present self might better preserve and profit from past challenges and aspirations and thus more ably chart and change course to a better and more intentional future self. I also write for my grandchildren’s children so that we might chat and they might sail past some of the reefs and shoals I’ve encountered in my explorations. More than just a chronicler of the quotidien, the Holstee this app app allows me to navigate as well as log my journey, be it under full canvas or tacking into strong headwinds, through curated reviews, gentle yet demanding promptings, and expanded options to illustrate as well as write. Experienced, procrastinating, struggling, and novice journalers alike will find safe harbors and stout winds herein.

Best Journaling App Ever

I find myself being able to journal almost every day now with Reflection . I am 50 years old I am set in my ways I love the smell of paper and I love the way the pen flows and I love to see the ink marks on my hand. But in this busy world that we are in I don’t get time to fully write what I want to write whereas this way I’m actually not even writing when I’m journaling I get to talk and express my thoughts through words with Reflection . The guides that they offer wonderful for when you just wanna journal about something the insides are amazing the membership is invaluable and the community of people are just amazing people get Reflection become a part of the community you will not regret it.

Love this!

Reflection is really good. I love how there are little questions and quotes that you can respond to. However, it would be cool if you could add a few more categories instead of just “highlight,” “lowlight,” and “free write,” because some of the things I write about can fit into two categories. It would be nice if they were more specific. Overall, Reflection is really well-made, and I really love that everything is free.
