I love the regular down dog app and was thrilled to see them rolls out a prenatal version. It has a lot of the same benefits of the regular app, although there are some things that could use improvement in my opinion. There seems to be a lot less variety of moves in this app vs the regular app. Every session has started with the same couple of poses in sequence (child’s pose followed by crescent lunge sequence). There are only 3 levels of intensity, which I’m guessing is a safety thing as they want to be careful about what they advise pregnant women to do, but that means the app taps out at “intermediate” level. Also there are fewer options as far as yoga styles — rather than being able to choose Hatha, Gentle, Vinyasa etc there are just two options (full practice or restorative). I do hope they’ll add a bit more to this app so that it will provides enough variety for me to want to use throughout pregnancy. I think they’re off to a good start!

Started using this app since my 20th week when i finally felt better and was up for exercising. I felt immediately better, had better range of motions, basically feeling almost myself again physically. I found the boost setting, while theoretically good, somewhat a hit-and-miss. I wish there’s a straightforward setting to just not include certain poses in my practice. Also as far as i cam tell, there isnt any real difference between poses in second and third trimester. There are poses i could do in second trimester but def cant now that im 30 weeks+. Which links back to my previous points about not being able to exclude certain poses. Overall, i still love this app. Thanks for making it really well!

This app is fantastic! You choose your level (anywhere from never took a yoga class to advanced), the type of music you prefer, what trimester you’re in, what body part to focus on, whether you want full yoga or just restorative stretching and how long you want your routine. You even get to choose from several voice options so you don’t end up with someone you don’t find relaxing or enjoyable. It’s a smooth and customizable routine. I never leave reviews but felt this one deserved to be acknowledged for its benefits. I’m still on my free trial but plan to pay for a membership. For $60 per year, their four apps (3 if you’re not pregnant) seems a steal. I also hear they have discounts periodically so watch out for those. I will be!
